I love a good story about a good girl who turns bad. Okay, bad was in her, she just needed a little push. Tristan and Elena....couple goals. FOR SURE! I love their dynamic and how they were obsessed with one another in their own way. Alice wrote Elena as a strong FMC and I am here for the stress and burden that she was under. Super relatable. So was Tristan. If there are more books about the others in The Society, I need the titles. I need to know more about The Society and how I can weasel my way in hahahah!
Spicy level - Hot....for high school (seniors, but 18 year olds) book. Not meant for teens for sure.
Also,, where was Tristan when I was in high school????? ...more

I had to listen to it and I LOVED THIS. I don't normally read a lot of historical fiction, but lately I have a thing for women in positions that are mostly meant for men. This, set in Russia during WWII, is the story of single mother and student Mila Pavlichenko, taking a stand. Fighting for her home country. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I laughed and cried. I felt Mila's strength, her anger and her pain. She was an amazing soldier and an amazing mother.
READ THIS!
Thank you for writing this. I cannot express how much I loved this novel! ...more

It was a pleasure to listen to this book. The relatability of the topic is perfect. As in, hey there are companies out there that don't think that they are in the wrong or promoting the wrong people. I felt Dee's anger and had some issues with Teddy not being vocal with his father. In a sense, the filial duty was totally addressed here, despite both characters being mixed. The writing (from a listening standpoint) was great. I love the world building and the nods to Chinese dishes. So many great food. Even better, the addressing of prejudice in Dee's family. I love the way that she approached the topic with her grandmother. Dee is a strong character, with a lot of self doubt, but that is what makes her so relatable. Oh and that fashion designer....ugh. I had a feeling about that show, but I am glad that things went the way they did. I would TOTALLY read/listen to this again. Lily Chu...more

It is such a emotionally relatable story. Tears were shed, on my behalf. There was so much laughter to be had. Thank you so much for writing this beautiful with such great banter between the characters. I enjoyed the similarities between the two main characters and how deep down, Dawson just knew. He really carried something so heavy for all those years and then to do something so beautiful, that did it for me. He is the real MVP.
If you are looking for two witty characters and a HEA, this is definitely the book for you!!...more

I took my time with this after reading Carnage and I am so glad that I did! Haidyn is just....I have no words to describe him. However there is one for him. I think pairing him with Charlotte/Annabel was the best move. Finding out that the way he is so supportive of his brothers in the background - like they didn't know!! They just assumed that he was in a dark place. Well, he was, but he is so amazing. Just amazing. Even with all his quirks (I mean ALL OF THEM).
Charlotte is a Bada$$$! I mean that her mind and will is strong, then we see her change. She goes from this strong willed woman to, well, crazy. But, like can you BLAME HER? I mean it's Haidyn and ooo the doubt that her voices put in her head. Lordt help him.
This was an emotional read for me because of all the Lords (and I love them all), I connected the most with Haidyn. I don't connect with a lot of characters in books that much, but when I do, they are the caliber of Haidyn Reeves. Read, Read, READ this series. You will be so glad that you did go into this world!...more

Fin**spoiler alert** First time reader for Renee Parker. I am excited for the second book in this series. The Irish Kings are ruthless, in a good way. Finn is my type of enforcer. A second chance at love, he may not think he is worth it, but he totally is. And Riley...Oh she's a firecracker with emotional problems, but I need her to know that SHE IS GOOD ENOUGH TO LOVE! I love how Renee touches on the strained relationship between parents and children and how it causes a hidden trauma that follows on to adult hood. It's real and very relatable. I was actually reading this for research and I literally finished it in two days. I barely put this down to sleep. The other thing I enjoyed in this book is how the fight scenes were written. It was easy to follow and had me going "Hey Now!" or "Daaaannnng!" They were not rushed. The details were epic and I felt like I was right there with Finn as he was doing what he does best, Enforce. I do want to know what happens because...I need to know that Harper is safe. I am ready for Book 2!! Renee Parker...more
