Honestly just a whirlwind of emotions and now I am scared to read the next one because things are clearly obviously going to get worse and I am not sure my heart can take it. Like please I just want Laia and Elias and Helene to be happy but nothing ever goes right for them....more

Aurora Rising was such an easy book to read. I loved all the characters, and I really enjoyed how each chapter was in a different perspective. It gave me a true insight into each character in a depth you don’t get with a one person pov. I read the book in one sitting, and it only took me a few hours to finish. I think the plot is amazing and new, totally unique. It is a great introduction into the young adult science fiction genre. The characters are diverse, they are fresh. The way they all interact with each other was lovely and their dynamics were a joy to read. This book has suspense and tension, a hint of romance, spaceships and everything you would need. I love this book so much that after finishing, I bought the next one even though it’s not out in paperback (considering my Aurora Rising is paperback this is a BIG move) ...more

I loved the Riden and Alosa interactions in this book, I especially loved how there was still an aspect of ‘hate’ between them to keep things tense for the reader. The writing is just so so easy to follow and read - it flows so nicely and I really do find myself in the world Levenseller has created. I felt a lot of emotions whilst reading this: ‘terror’, happiness and heartache. I am actually super sad I have finished the book because now I have an even bigger pirate shaped hole in my heart.
This duology has been the best that I have read and I will definitely be rereading this again soon. ...more

ALL THE STARS AND TEETH has become my favourite novel set on the seas. This book was essentially a comforting hug to me. I squealed, I giggled, I frowned - this book took me on a journey. Please the TENSION, oh my gosh it made my heart race and I was fully smirking . I won't lie, it did take me about 80 pages to fully get into the story, but once the action started I was hooked and did not put it down. I love the characters and the way they all interact with each other. Especially Bastien and Amora. I just think it is rude how there is NO fanart....more
