The story is set in a small beach town, where everyone knows everyone’s business. So when Finn walks in, the new librarian, Vivian is warned to stay away. However, an opportunity presents itself; in exchange for helping the locals accept Finn, he would be Vivian’s ‘daring coach’ to help her pluck up the courage to speak to her long-time crush, Atticus.
I really enjoyed the sweet nature of this book, the swooning moments, the tension, and especially the backstories of the characters as we really got to know them. This is the prefect read for the summer!...more

The gift of the Holy Maiden is healing, but there’s a catch; for every injury she heals, a day of her life is taken. When Ysabel accidentally stumbles into Dark Lord Kane, everything changes.
This audiobook was such a fun listen! The story went at a good pace, I enjoyed the characters, and there was also great LGBTQ+ representation.

The second instalment in the Alexandria series, The View from Prince Street was just as thrilling.
This book follows Rae McDonald and Lisa Smyth from modern day Alexandria with chapters also from ancestors from Colonial Alexandria.
In this story, we see two women drawn together through grief. Both deal with it in their own ways; Rae with a ‘heart of stone’, and Lisa through the bottle.
Again, this book was so well written and narrated - I always have a mini panic when there were more than 2 narrators, but they each told the story through their characters and did a wonderful job. ...more

This book was truly captivating and let me to wanting more.
At the Corner of Kings Street follows Addie Morgan. Her childhood was chaotic at best, so when she had a chance she left and found happiness at a vineyard and a new boo, Scott - the owner of the vineyard.
However, after a series of ignored phone calls from her sister, and the sudden appearance of her aunt disrupting her new life, Addie finds herself returning to Alexandria. Many of the women in her life have been ‘cursed’ with mental illness - her mother and sister were no exception. Addie returns to Alexandria to help with her sister, as she has done all her life.
This book was so well written and the narrators did a great job. The book flips between modern day Addie and diary entries written by ancestors from Colonial Alexandria.

This summer romance hit all the feels! It was full of love, betrayal, loss, laughter and well developed characters.
The only reason I have this 4/5 and now 5/5 is because of some the storylines. There was a lot going on which was great, but would need a follow up to tie up some loose ends that were dropped on the reader (and characters) but then never resolved.
The narrator was great at capturing Julia’s character. I can’t even is a must read/listen this summer ☀️...more

The story was really cute and engaging. It follows Gemma, a debut romance author trying to write in a way to please others - even if she’d rather write cute romances instead of ones where the love interest is a bad boy that couldn’t care less about the mc. To help her though with writing this kind of character, Gemma goes into her past experiences with Maison Moretti as the perfect prototype. Which leads us to our MMC - Maison Moretti, pro hockey player. He knows the character is based on him, but has no idea to what extent. When they reconnect at an interview for Gemma’s book, Maison proposes fake dating as a way to promote her book (and help salvage his hockey persona). This all leads to chaos and tension - you do not want to miss it!
This book was so well written, and both narrators did an excellent job! The stay grabbed you from the start and kept you hooked. ...more

This was such a fun and entrancing listen!
Were thrown into action right from the start. The story is told from two povs; Madinia and Calysian. The story does a great job of explaining a bit of each character’s backgrounds to understand how they got here - and can I just say, the character building was *chef’s kiss*. I will admit I haven’t read any of the previous books, but I didn’t feel left out at all - although probably would have helped! There was so many twists and turns, a lot of action, romance and tension - once you pick this up you won’t be able to put it down!...more

This was such a sweet romance read. The novella shows how two longtime friends, Charlie and Becca, cope with loss, grief, and how they open themselves to love again. It’s an extremely easy read/listen, although it was quite as romancey or emotional of a read as I expected from the blurb, but I do enjoy a slow burn, and I loved the banter and funny moments we get to see between Charlie and Becca.
I recommend if you’re looking for a short and sweet read, with slow burn and fun banter....more

I haven’t read a book before where the author themselves is a character in the story - that was one of the things that drew me to this story.
I loved the murder mystery in this story, and how it is the author himself ‘writing’ and uncovering the secrets of the past.
I did find the story on the long side and it did take me a while to get into it, but after the halfway-mark, the story really gets rolling as more and more secrets are uncovered.
I recommend if you’re interested in a murder mystery thriller with suspense....more

This contemporary romance had so much potential, but it unfortunately left me feeling a bit unsatisfied.
The story follows Bea after she finds out that she won a lottery for her dream wedding. The only issue is that her boyfriend-at-the-time-of-entering is no longer in the picture. She has a wedding set, but no one to marry…
I did enjoy the writing style and the addition of the “To Do” lists at the end of each chapter - it let you understand more of Bea’s character. That being said, character development is a big thing for me and I did not enjoy Bea, I found her annoying and selfish in how she treated her friends. I also wished we saw more of the final love interest throughout the book as it would have made the ending sweeter - I was left unsatisfied. The story itself was predictable but it was lighthearted and funny. ...more

This was so so good! It gave me all of the Six of Crows vibes with the heist, incredible group of characters that all bring something unique to the team, magic system, and all the mystery!
STORY: The pacing was well done and flowed nicely. The world building was good but I could have used more, I did enjoy the magic system although it was slightly confusing, but it was all the character developments, interactions, and plot that made it for me!
AUDIO: I was a bit apprehensive when I found out there were two narrators, but I really liked it! It worked so well with the changing povs, and each narrator did a great job of keeping me hooked on the story.
I highly recommend if you’re a fan of Six of Crows, heists, and an incredible group of characters....more
