The story is set in a small beach town, where everyone knows everyone’s business. So when Finn walks in, the new librarian, Vivian is warned to stay away. However, an opportunity presents itself; in exchange for helping the locals accept Finn, he would be Vivian’s ‘daring coach’ to help her pluck up the courage to speak to her long-time crush, Atticus.
I really enjoyed the sweet nature of this book, the swooning moments, the tension, and especially the backstories of the characters as we really got to know them. This is the prefect read for the summer!...more

This audiobook was such a fun listen! The story went at a good pace, I enjoyed the characters, and there was also great LGBTQ+ representation.

The second instalment in the Alexandria series, The View from Prince Street was just as thrilling.
This book follows Rae McDonald and Lisa Smyth from modern day Alexandria with chapters also from ancestors from Colonial Alexandria.
In this story, we see two women drawn together through grief. Both deal with it in their own ways; Rae with a ‘heart of stone’, and Lisa through the bottle.
Again, this book was so well written and narrated - I always have a mini panic when there were more than 2 narrators, but they each told the story through their characters and did a wonderful job. ...more

I enjoyed the connections made between the Romans and Sarmatians. The start was very promising but then felt a bit repetitive, nothing much happened tbh. That is until the end where things got exciting. Because of that I have this a 3 ⭐️ but am still looking forward to the rest of this series. ...more

This summer romance hit all the feels! It was full of love, betrayal, loss, laughter and well developed characters.
The only reason I have this 4/5 and now 5/5 is because of some the storylines. There was a lot going on which was great, but would need a follow up to tie up some loose ends that were dropped on the reader (and characters) but then never resolved.
The narrator was great at capturing Julia’s character. I can’t even is a must read/listen this summer ☀️...more

The story was really cute and engaging. It follows Gemma, a debut romance author trying to write in a way to please others - even if she’d rather write cute romances instead of ones where the love interest is a bad boy that couldn’t care less about the mc. To help her though with writing this kind of character, Gemma goes into her past experiences with Maison Moretti as the perfect prototype. Which leads us to our MMC - Maison Moretti, pro hockey player. He knows the character is based on him, but has no idea to what extent. When they reconnect at an interview for Gemma’s book, Maison proposes fake dating as a way to promote her book (and help salvage his hockey persona). This all leads to chaos and tension - you do not want to miss it!

I have pretty mixed feelings about either this book… it started off strong, with Charlotte, who’s had a pretty rough time, being convinced to go to a party with her friend Abby to celebrate a new job. Only when they show up does she realise Abby has brought her to an exclusive sex party… but this is where we meet Oliver and Steve… and then the chaos.
I liked Charlotte to begin with, but the shy character we were introduced to suddenly became very immature and was ready to jump in the sack with anyone. There’s a lot of emotional abuse, a lot of jumping back and forth, and to be honest it felt a little messy. The ending was also a bit disappointing. ...more

Were thrown into action right from the start. The story is told from two povs; Madinia and Calysian. The story does a great job of explaining a bit of each character’s backgrounds to understand how they got here - and can I just say, the character building was *chef’s kiss*. I will admit I haven’t read any of the previous books, but I didn’t feel left out at all - although probably would have helped! There was so many twists and turns, a lot of action, romance and tension - once you pick this up you won’t be able to put it down!...more

The story is told from the perspective of Bria Radcliffe. She’s Charmed, blessed with the mark of Fortuna, meaning she is ‘lucky’ and that luck spreads to those who spend time with her. She’s now come to an age where her family must find her a husband. Only, Bria is not interested in the 99 proposals - there is only one man for her. Weston Wiles. But there’s one small problem, Wes has also been marked by Fortuna, but where Bria’s being her luck, Wes’ does the opposite. The rest of the story find us in
I really enjoyed the story of romance, passion, and adventure.
I did wish there was a bit more world building throughout the story, but overall it was a fun listen. ...more

If you’re a fan of dragons, elves and magic then this is for you. This book held my attention straight from the beginning. It’s a fast paced, fun, quick read.
The book is told mainly from Sifa’s POV (an elf hiding her identity in a world that hunts her kind, but all the while, she’s desperately trying to find her way home), with a few chapters from Fhord’s POV (a dragon rider who tries his best to stay away from Sifa, yet only seems to get closer and closer). I loved the chemistry between these too (although Fhord constantly referring to his ‘savage’ got a bit annoying) as well as the side characters.

What really caught my interest was how this book started right in with the action and I loved the whole magic system and world building! That being said, the reason I’ve given a 3.5 rating is because some of some of the characters - at times they came across as juvenile which took me out of the magic of the story occasionally. I also wish there was a POV from Niko - he was the only one really missing! There’s also opportunity for some spice in certain scenes, but that’s just my personal preference and not for everyone.
Overall, I did enjoy this and look forward to the next instalment. ...more

The story follows mainly Kira but also has a few chapters on Blake (who was such a baddie). I liked Kira but she was weird. Like, super horny from the midpoint onwards, and just needed a bit of therapy. That being said, I loved her character development and side characters. I do feel that there could have been a bit more action in the plot, especially at the start, but overall this was a fast and enjoyable read that leaves you wanting more.
