Even if he’d held back his feelings in words, he hadn’t held them back in the way he treated Oz. Or the way he held him, or kissed him, or spoiled him. Even when he’d made Oz beg for it, he’d been giving Oz what he secretly craved.
This was cute! More of a 3.5 but I'm rounding up because I have fallen for this little found family. This was very much more Oz's book than it was Ridge tbh but I was okay with it because I loved Oz. I was heartbroken by the way his family treated him and had been hoping they were going to have a suffer at least a little!! Ridge was so good to Oz and Oz deserved all the spoiling and care. I loved Ozs relationship with Frey and Rex and I wish we would have gotten to see Rex and Oz reunite post the accident. ...more

Given the fact that both Dallas and Kylen were dealing with some truly awful people, I was glad that they were able to find solace in each other. Dallas had his own self discovery journey he was going through at the same time and I liked how Kylen was so patient and understanding. I had hoped with both of them being single dads there would have been more scenes with their kids but I get giving them more page time can erase from on page relationship development.
There was a lot going on in this book with both characters having a lot to deal with on top of their relationship so at times the storylines felt like a bit too much? But the fact that it was so hectic and Dallas and Kylen stayed supportive of each other kind of worked for me?? I also loved their meet cute on the plane!
I wish both Kylen’s family and Katie had gotten to experience a little bit more of the consequences of their actions, but overall this was a cute read. ...more

So cute omg! I loved Frey and Renato together! I liked their unconventional start, and how when they got together they both realized that they had been making the other feel a bit "othered". They didn't actually know much about each other and as they got closer they realized that they were both making judgements when they didn't know the full story.
I liked how sweet Renato was with Rex, I wish there had been more Rex in the book! I liked how after Renato discovers Frey's book, Frey does go all grand gesture and wants to make sure Renato knew that he was not always that person and that keeping the book was so Frey could protect himself against heartbreak.
I thought they had good chemistry together, the sex was fun between these two, and I thought the way they were sort of opposites in their work persona's was a fun difference. ...more

This was so cute! Bronx was a protector. He couldn’t help that, and maybe for the first time in his life, he had someone who wanted to be protected.
This was so cute!!! This series has taken me on such a ride because i originally dnf'd book 1 but absolutely adored book 5 and now this one so im going to reread book 1 because maybe i was just in a weird slump????
Anyway, absolutely loved Monty and Bronx. They worked so well together, I loved the little "in your face" moment Monty had with his dad, and I loved seeing him stand up for himself. I also liked that his condition wasn't the sole focus of the story, it was still very much part of him but it was written so casually like it was evident it didn't hold him back from having a full life and the things he couldn't do anymore, he found ways to still be able to enjoy it.
I liked Bronx and Lucas' relationship. I think it was healing in a way for Bronx to have Lucas be so straightforward about his own feelings because it helped to prove to Bronx he was doing his best and Lucas wanted to be with him, and that the only dad that mattered to him was Bronx.
I liked how when both Monty and Bronx realized they had shifted into having feelings and it was no longer casual it only took 1 chapter or so for them to confess. They knew what they wanted and they were both willing to tell each other in hopes the other felt the same.
Their love story really was a new beginning for both of them - they found each other at the perfect time. Also the spice was just great. Half the time the scene started in the middle of them already going at it lol and honestly it worked. ...more

The mix of second chance romance and single dad is like kryptonite to me!! I wish we had gotten to see more of Lellie and Dev together, and I wish Dev and Tully had more moments just themselves talking and catching up instead of them always being on the move and dealing with the outside drama, but overall this was very cute. Dev had so much baggage and I'm glad he got an addition support person in Tully to be another reminder that what happened to his brother was not his fault and that he has so many people who love him. It was missing a little bit of something for me but not worth getting rid of a whole star....more

Adam wanted to see Wes in every conceivable scenario: getting out of the shower, covered in sweat, sleepy, grouchy, stuffing his face with spaghetti. He wanted to know Wes. He wanted to be with Wes.
This was so f*cking cute omg. Gus really was the main character honestly. She was such a pure, wholesome kid and it's entirely thanks to how good of a dad Adam is. Adam may seem a bit naive but he truly had such a good heart, and wanted nothing but to make his kid happy. I loved seeing Wes get more comfortable with Adam and Gus and sort of figuring out how he fit with this family. I thought he was so sweet with Gus, and I loved how he and Adam talked out their feelings at the end but really listened to each other. They want to be a family so bad and understood that they need to be honest with each other in order to make that happen. I wish this had been a little bit longer but it was truly so enjoyable to read. ...more

!!! Basically soulmates are real because there’s no other words to describe Kash and Adele. This was a really enjoyable read, one thing I love about EM Lindsey is they always have such diversity amongst their characters especially characters who have disabilities. Kash is adjusting to his new normal which makes him angry and prone to lashing out, I think Kash was super relatable and his reaction to his situation was totally valid! I loved how he constantly checked himself and knew that he was lashing out at Adele because he could get away with it and told Adele not to let him off the hook so easily. I loved how down bad Adele was fr and I loved both his and Kash’s relationship with Gage. Such a wholesome family fr!

Bowen and Lane were super cute together, I loved how easily Bowen was able to fit into Lane and Briar's life, and how much he truly cared about them. I thought both Lane and Bowen were pretty decent at communicating with each other as well, both were struggling through past break ups or in Lane's case a nasty divorce, and they both wanted a different kind of relationship moving forward. I think on both ends, being with each other helped them heal from their past and gave them the courage to have a better more fulfilling life.
I've been reading this series sort of out of order, so it was funny to see all the other characters not have their happy ending yet, but knowing it's going to happen for them soon :) ...more

I don’t know what I expected but Michael being 100% aware and down for whatever at like 30% was not it but I was so here for it!!!!! I felt so so bad for West, all he wanted was his independence after feeling like such a burden to his entire family :((((
I loved the relationship between Michael and West because it really had such a solid friendship foundation and it was a shitty circumstance that pushed Michael to recognizing it as more but the way he was just all in for West???? What a man.
The struggle of Michael wanting to protect West vs West wanting to fight for himself because he’d never been allowed to ??? I cry.
The peak of the book when the truth finally comes out literally made me cry, also West’s confrontation with his brother Derek!!!!!! I cry even more!!! It’s so complex because I can tell Derek has serious elder child syndrome but I also totally get West just wanting to be able to take care of himself.

Definitely had a little bit of Hallmark movie vibes to it which is always perfect for the holiday season. I am a big fan of the Rebel Kings series by Garrett so it was super interesting to meet Locke's family in circumstances beyond the club. I liked Logan a lot (we all know I love my firefighters and single dads), and Remy was a delight. I loved the progression of their relationship and how even during Remy's own struggles he wanted to remain independent and not be a charity case. I thought Logan was so sweet to Remy and to his boys - Remy being such a natural with Logan's kids was so cute to see too.

If there's one thing Emmy Sanders will always deliver, it's a romantic, and tooth-achingly sweet story.
We first meeting Harrison in book 1 of the Plum Valley Cowboys series and we're so focused on the love story of Wyatt and Easton that we don't exactly consider how Harrison must have felt through it all. It was interesting to see his perspective of what happened and how it affects him now. Being someone's second choice is a big insecurity for him and something he is very aware of, especially when in his own life whoever he ends up with may come in second to his daughter.
I loved seeing Harrison and Sammy's relationship develop. I loved how it was basically love at first sight and how all in Sammy was. Sammy was truly the perfect boyfriend - he had such a big heart and how easily he took to both Harrison and Winnie?? Dream man, for real.
"You were sunshine, but you were starlight, too. You woke me up, and you made me dream. You gave me hope for a partnership when I thought I'd lost that for myself."
Partnership was a big theme throughout the book - Harrison is so used to doing everything on his own and having Sammy willing and wanting to help took him a while to get used to. Sammy was so reassuring that being with Harrison was exactly where he wanted to be which eased a lot of the initial worry off of Harrison. I loved their dynamic together and how freely both men expressed their emotions too. I liked how the book didn't have some big drama, it was just a story about two people getting together and figuring out how they fit in each others lives.
Overall, this was such a sweet read and I'm so sad to be leaving Plum Valley but thank you to Emmy for such a good ending!

The summary made it seem like the story was going to be a little different than it actually was. I thought the overall meet cute was actually cute, but the dialogue just sort of felt forced to me and not how people actually talk to one another?
