What I Loved: Carter and Zach and their codependent friendship/relationship. The lack of drama when Carter finally realizes he's been in love with Zach for longer than he imagined and his easy acceptance of his bi-awakening. The chemistry between Carter and Zach was scorching and I loved their explorations as Zach introduced Carter to gay sex.
What I Liked: Zach's teammates and their significant others and how supportive they were of Carter and Zach.
What I Didn't Like: Well, maybe more like things that felt left in the air. Like Raegan, Carter's girlfriend, who was a nice girl, but kind of disappeared after Carter and Zach got together even if she gave Carter good advice and showed him she could be a good friend for him. The whole Brody (Zach's brother) storyline, I felt like it came out of nowhere. Maybe it was mentioned in the previous books? Who knows. The hockey player who practically attacked Zach and caused him so many health issues, he was mentioned once and then we didn't get to know what happened with him, if he'd been reprimanded or something after such a bad injury. While I got why Zach had to go away, I felt bad that he ghosted Carter knowing he was going through a very rough patch, both in his personal and professional life, especially seeing that he was aware of just how much Carter needed him.
Overall, though, I really enjoyed this book and completely fell for Zach and Carter and even if there were things that didn't work for me, there were more that did. Very recommendable!

This was my first book written by DG Carothers and I can assure you it won't be the last!
Pako is an orc that dislikes Elves with good reason, and he finds a coin while walking on the beach. David is an elf who also finds a coin, which turns out will grant him what he needs the most. When they sort of see each other, Pako tries to escape when he realizes his mate might be one of the creatures he despises so much, but David pursues him and once they are face to face, neither of them can deny the pull they feel for each other.
Pako and David were very different, but they complemented each other perfectly. Pako, while being bigger and broader than David, craved someone who would take care of him, and David wanted to find a reason not to focus so much on his work. They were really sweet together and had amazing chemistry.
This is a novella, so it's short, but it has a little bit of everything with a good heap of spice. An engaging, intriguing story that I couldn't put down until I finished and have no trouble recommending.

Geordi and Elias couldn't have been more different if they tried. Geordi was adorkable, sweet and obsessed with vampires (especially Elias, even if he'd never met him before the events at the start of the book). Elias is a thousand-years-old vampire, who's content with his unlife and coexisting with humans, seeing as they provide him with blood and more riches than he knows what to do with. He feels drawn to Geordi in a way that no other mortal or vampire compares and he's determined to keep him.
I've always loved paranormal books that focus on vampires, this one was especially good. The world-building, and the way the vampires were ruthless and violent, but still controlled—in their majority at least—fit perfectly with my view of them. It didn't hurt that Geordi and Elias had chemistry in spades or that there was a good balance between action, angst, smexy times, and fun.
Thicker Than Blood is an standalone, that I really hope will turn into more. There were several secondary characters (both of the vampire and mortal variety) that I would love to read more about, like Enyo, Geordi's friend, and Benicio, Jagger, and Lucius.
Overall, a very good read that I have no trouble recommending.

Paris and Mac are the definition of sunshine/grumpy and whereas the first book is pretty insta-love, this one is slow-burn. I loved both of them, Mac has suffered a lot, and being a Reaper, he's also witnessed and experienced a lot of loss. Paris has suffered his fair share of trauma at the hands of his horrible father.
The plot is fast-paced and captivating, keeping my interest from start to finish. I adored the lead characters and the supporting cast, and the world-building was great. Definitely a must-read!

Forlorn is book 2 in the Wavesongs series by Elvira Bell, and like I did in my review for the first book, Astray, I need to warn you that this book is not fluffy and sweet, nor does it present a romanticized vision of pirates or life in England or the colonies in the 1700's, plus it ends with a cliffhanger yet again, perhaps not as bad as the one in Astray, but not all that good either.
I really felt bad for all that Nick had to go through since we saw him last, and while he had to do what he had to do to survive, it was undeniable where his affections lay. In regards to Christopher, though, I'm not so sure what to think. He seems a whole lot more pragmatic and focused than Nick and not as invested in their relationship, so I'm not really sure if I really want them together. Not that Nick's other romantic prospect, Tom, is any better, since he appeared to be more than a bit creepy at times.
While I found the book to be well-written, for the most part, I can't say I enjoyed it more than the first one. Forlorn was a bit of a hot mess, there were too many things happening and I think the author got a bit lost in it all, and unfortunately, she lost me in the process. I'm still undecided whether or not to pick up the next book, but that's just me, if you enjoyed Astray, there's a chance you might like this one, too.

Smart-mouthed SCIB Agent Callen Blackheath finds himself involved in a new case after his latest act of defying orders lands him in the middle of an operation that turns more personal than he would've wanted. The only good thing to come out of it, is finding a place in a task force lead by Liam "Thatch" Thatcher and getting close to the man as he helps Thatch adapt to his new shifter status and the bond and memories that come with it. As they close in on the bad guys, Callen and Thatch will need to trust in each other and their team to put an end to an operation that could potentially harm lots of shifters.
While the book is told from Callen's POV, it's well-rounded enough that I never felt like I didn't know Thatch enough, same with the rest of the secondary cast. Callen was all attitude and defiance with his immediate boss, yet, he fit so well with Thatch's team from the start. Thatch was a great team leader, and just perfect for Callen on a personal level. Even if there was enough going on with the investigation and the romance simmered on the background, the chemistry was definitely there from the moment they met. I actually loved that, it was a slow-burn and the UST was so thick it could be cut with a knife, but the author kept in mind that they were on a very important mission so it made sense for them to wait.
The book was action-packed, fast-paced, with a fantastic main and secondary cast and a great, complex storyline that I couldn't get enough of. I am aware Ms. Seymour mainly writes contemp romance, but I really hope she writes more urban fantasy in the future, because she certainly has a gift for this kind of books.

The last thing Micah, the leader of the Seraphims, expected was to find his fated mate during a battle, or that said mate would be a demon. Nox has felt a pull towards something on the topside, although he didn't imagine that something would be an Archangel who is in love with someone who could be Nox's brother. What starts as a hate relationship, turns into so much more when Micah and Nox discover they have similar interests, however, their love is doomed since Heaven will never allow for an Archangel/Demon relationship, no matter if they are fated mates.
I absolutely loved Micah and Nox, they made me cry and laugh and sigh and root for them to find a way to be together that didn't involve one or both of them dying or Micah falling from Heaven. They had amazing chemistry, and while the hate sex was hot, what I enjoyed the most was them getting to know and falling for each other.
I loved the rest of the Seraphims and Nox's demon friends and I'll be looking for their books. And I really hope a certain someone *cough* Gloria *cough* will get their comeuppance at some point.
Overall, a fantastic start to the series! I'm so hooked (and hungover!) Definitely a recommendation from me.

The Pretenders of Copper County is the first installment in this new series by May Archer and it's an absolute delight.
Chris is very naive and has a sunny personality, and before meeting Reed, he didn't stand up to anyone. It is amazing to see him come out of his shell and learn that he didn't need anyone else to save him. And Reed, well, he was the complete opposite of Chris, grumpy and determined to keep Chris safe. It is great to see him opening up to Chris, the townsfolk of Copper County, and his own brothers. It doesn't hurt that Chris and Reed have chemistry in spades and that when they finally give in to their attraction, things get very hot between them. *fans self*
I love how everyone they come across, loves Chris as much as I did, and how well both he and Reed fit in Copper County. I'm already looking forward to Watt's story!
Overall, a fabulous read that I couldn't put down, fun, sexy, interesting, and with an amazing cast of characters I couldn't get enough of. Super recommendable!

For Fox Sake is the first book in the Fetish Alley series, which is a spin-off from Susan Mac Nicol's Men in London series. It's suggested you read Feat of Clay and Damaged Goods (books 4 and 5 from that series) first, but I think it stands alone pretty well by itself. It's been a long time since I read both books, so it was a bit like reading it on its own until it started coming back to me. Still, I really liked them and I think the experience will be more enjoyable if you read them all.
This book follows Clay and Tate as they work a case for one of Clay's ex-lovers, who owns a club in Fetish Alley and introduces them (and me) to a world they had little knowledge of previously. The author manages to recapture the chemistry between these characters and shows that even if they're quite solid, there is still room for growth between them as their own insecurities—in Clay's case, his age and in Tate's, his jealousy of Aurelio and struggling to come to terms with the things he lived while working undercover—arise.
The case was really interesting and fast-paced. I loved seeing Clay and Tate and I hope we get to see more of them in the next installments of this new series, right along Jax and Dare and I'm really intrigued over Tomas and Aurelio, so I hope we're getting their story next. Very recommendable!

Griff was adorable, sweet, and supportive. Shae was a bit gruff at the beginning, but he changed his tune once he realized that he'd found a new family in Griff and his MEOW squad. Plus they turned out to be fated mates and you can't fight that, even if Shae gave it the good ole try. LOL

This is the last book in the Westbrook Elite series, and for maximum enjoyment, you need to have read at least some of the previous books. I promise you won't regret it.
We've met Emmett (Coach) in the previous books, and apparently, Bodhi appeared in Rush and Landry's book (which I didn't read because I haven't read MF in forever and a day). Bodhi is half Emmett's age, so there's a large gap, but it's handled nicely enough that it really isn't an issue until the end. Also, Emmett is Bodhi's coach, although Bodhi is only in the team in name since he only swims once due to past trauma, so the power dynamics in that sense are a non-issue. It was a bit insta-love, and there were a lot of sexy times, which featured some daddy kink and spanking, but no age play. Also, while I understood Emmett's reasoning for not giving in at first, I kinda wanted to slap some sense into him sometimes. I mean, really, with everything Bodhi had gone through with his twin sister's death and all the repercussions his lashing out generated, Emmett should've known better, especially since he could relate to what Bodhi was feeling. I still loved them together, and I was glad we had some page time exploring their relationship once they decided to give it a go. They had amazing chemistry and were scorching hot together. *fans self*
My favorite part was the team, though. They're so much fun, but also so supportive of each other, which they more than proved when it counted. Of course, Jamie pretty much stole every scene they were in, which thankfully, were plentiful because I adore them all.
Overall, an angsty, spicy, yet fun read that I found difficult to put down and will likely read again in the future. I might even cave and read the MF books just because I love the Elite guys so much. Highly recommendable!

Tallus is adorable, even if very flirty and manipulative with Diem, who just can't stay away from Tallus, no matter how hard he tries. We got to know Diem a lot better this time around, and it made me want to cuddle him. He's just gone through so much at the hands of his father, and with that poor excuse for a mother, it's not difficult to see why he's so touch-averse. Tallus pushed him to his very limits, but he bounced back and managed some progress, which was awesome to read. I'm definitely rooting for him and Tallus to make it now that they've gone through some of the hurdles.
I loved how Tallus just threw himself into their investigation, and his interactions with Kitty were pure gold! Never mind catching up with Quaid and Aslan, which was a treat. The investigation was captivating and I was intrigued by it all.
This was an amazing read! Action-packed, fast-paced, intriguing, fun, and angsty, all wrapped in Nicky James's fantastic writing skills. Highly recommendable!

Wade has been one of my favorite characters in the Soulbound 'verse ever since he made his entrance in All Souls High and Nigh and his story didn't disappoint.
I love Wade so much in all his snack-loving glory. He's really come into his own and I adore how his pack is so protective of him even if he's older now and how they interact with each other. They're truly a family in every sense of the word. Riordan is protective, caring, kind and patient, everything Wade needed after what he went through. I was happy to see that Wade had made some progress about his past trauma, but that he still needed to take things slow and that Riordan understood that. Same as with Wade understanding what their sealskin meant to Riordan and his sister. Riordan and Wade were perfect for each other, hot and sweet in the best of ways.
I really liked meeting the Boston pack and courts, and even catching up with Carmen and Lucien, LOL. Jono, Sage, and Patrick blowing up Wade's phone when he wouldn't report in time was awesome as well and so in tune with what we've seen in previous books. The whole thing with Niall and the sea serpent witch was awesome, especially that they got their comeuppance.
I loved this book to bits! It was captivating, fast-paced, the world-building and the action were top-notch (as always), and I absolutely adored Wade and Riordan's love story (although now I'm in the mood for cannolis, hahaha!) and catching up with the New York pack. Highly recommendable!

I loved that Marc and Ian from book 1 had so much page time. It was so much fun to see how far Marc has come since he fell in love with Ian.
While the book is fairly light in the angst department, there are a few chapters at the start of the book that were difficult to read, just be certain that the outcome of it is good, so no worries.
All in all, a fantastic addition to the series and a book I'd read over and over and not get bored. You Can Save Me is the sequel to You Can Do Magic, and both are part of the multi-authored Carnival of Mysteries series. While you could read it as a standalone, I suggest reading both for maximum enjoyment.
Kal and Ryan find a mysterious hitchhiker on the road and realizing he was part of the Carnival, they decide to help him. Dane (Dee Dee) has been missing for 40 years. After he was nearly killed on a fateful night and then rescued and brought back to help by Mr. Ame, he joined the Carnival of Mysteries as The Troubadour and now is trying to find a man who he thinks might be a killer. Detective Walter Muse didn't expect to see the man he and his father had been searching for the last 40 years when he responded to a call after a kill that resembled that of Dane Donovan's disappearance or discover that there was more to it than what he ever imagined.
Walter and Dane had a lot of chemistry, and the attraction between them was instant and unavoidable. They were perfect for each other.
I loved that Kal and Ryan were featured so prominently in the book, they really helped Walter and Dane a lot with this case. I also liked most of Walter's team.
The book was darker than You Can Do Magic, the bad guys were creepy, and the case was very intriguing weaving the past with the present. I'm not overly fond of flashbacks, but they were needed in this book, showing how Dane came to age and the events that set up his disappearance. All in all, a very well-written, captivating whodunnit with some paranormal elements blended into it. Very recommendable!

They were fated mates, and it was a bit insta, which is the norm in this kind of stories, but it worked for them. Brandon's moose was so much fun! And it was so refreshing to find a different kind of shifter in a book.
I didn't particularly care about Riley's ex's plotline, but all's well that ends well, I guess. I felt that it got resolved a little too fast after the buildup.

I've loved Aidan and Jamie ever since I read Single Malt and in every single book they've appeared ever since. Angel's Share can't be read as a standalone, but trust me, you are in for one hell of a ride if you read this series, it's just amazing, and somehow every new installment is just about as good or better than the previous one.
The case that falls in Aidan's lap this time around, makes things go full circle for Aidan and Jamie and makes Aidan have to face his past, which in turn, gives him something he'd only dreamt about before.
I don't want to spoil the book, so that's all I'll say, other than it was well-written, fast-paced, and action-packed and that recaptures all the magic of the other books in the series, while giving fans of the series a view into what Aidan and Jamie's life will be from now. This is definitely a recommendation from me.

Danny and Riley are commitment-phobes, both of them have gone through a lot before becoming best friends. They hooked up once, and while it was the best night for them both, they decided not to do it again to avoid catching any pesky feelings. Five years later, they pretty much do everything together, including being each other's wingman. Their friends think they'd be perfect together, but these two idiots refuse to give in until something happens to make Danny do something that will affect both their lives forever.
Damn, but these two had chemistry! *fans self* But not only were they uber hot together, but they were also fun and entertaining. I loved watching them interact with their friends, especially Leo, Matty, and Sebastian. I'm really intrigued by Finn, Logan, and Calan, so I hope we'll get to see them again in another series.

Rueben is set on showing the sexy Sheriff—who is keeping him at arm's length due to a conflict of interest because of a case Rueben has to testify on—that Rueben is worth keeping in Seth's life. They've already shared a passionate night when the book starts, and Seth is having trouble keeping his hands (and other body parts, LOL) off the flirty farmhand.
Rueben and Seth had great chemistry and I really liked them together, which was a bit surprising because I wasn't sure I was going to like Seth at first. He did get better later in the story, though.
I really enjoyed catching up with the guys at Redemption Ridge and I'm looking forward to reading more in this 'verse soon. There were some very interesting plotlines interwoven with the romance, even one I felt was a bit too rushed and easily resolved, even if Ms. Walker had been dropping some hints about it throughout the book. Still, this was a really good read and I recommend it.

Okay, so Kai and Zach had a lot to go through. Both had difficult childhoods and while Zach had found a family with his SEAL brothers, Kai found it difficult to trust others. Being thrown in as partners when Zach joined the Shadow Team made them learn to lean on one another, add that to the explosive chemistry they had, it wasn't all that surprising that their partnership evolved into more eventually.
The whole Charlie plotline—Zach's son who he left with his twin brother—was heartbreaking, but understandable seeing as Zach wasn't close to resigning from the Shadow Team. I loved that he got to share some moments with Jax, his brother, especially since they didn't grow up together, and that Jax had Zach's back when he needed it.
This was an emotionally charged story, angsty, spicy, and action-packed, which kept my interest from start to finish. Highly recommendable!
