The anthropologist in me could see a beautiful historical and cultural inspiration throughout this incredible story.

The ladies in this book felt like old friends, they are people I have known, people I have loved, and facets of the woman that I am as an afro swede. This is a must read on so many levels; the prose , characters and the storyline. The book presents Sweden in a previously unseen light within this context which in itself is unique. Thank you Lola Akinamde for writing us into literary fiction. I cant wait for your next book!...more
