This was not a good book. I know how many people think it's amazing and can't stop talking about it but I don't see the hype at all. I'm just going toThis was not a good book. I'm just going to rant about all the things wrong with the book: • It is way too slow • Over 600 pages and 300 years, Addie had no character development • People are saying it's sad, it's not • The ending doesn't even give closure, like what was the point? • The version I had was over 600 pages, and more than 250 of that was irrelevant to the story and a waste of time The whole idea of the book was okay but it was written all wrong :( I really did want to like this book because of all the good reviews it had but it definitely didn't work for me. 1⭐
Edit 3 months later: that said though, I would still consider recommending this book because I can see why people like it but I think you either love it or you hate it and unfortunately I'm on the hate side:( I do want to increase the rating tho, 3⭐
Edit 10 months later: I'm so conflicted because not many books are still on my mind after all this time but i cant stop thinking about it. Normally the books that make me feel like this so long after I've read it would be 5 stars, but it's impossible to do that based on my original review. So I'll increase the rating again, but I definitely need to reread this year to set this straight 4⭐
