Well, the author did NOT like Wernher von Braun, that was evident. Which is well enough. But I did not like the amount of assumptions and allegations bWell, the author did NOT like Wernher von Braun, that was evident. Which is well enough. But I did not like the amount of assumptions and allegations based on the auther‘s personal opinion of von Braun and his past. It‘s just not my prefered style of writing. The reading was strenuous, because of the multitude of notes, sometimes every sentence. Often enough, the notes had no direct context to the main reasoning and impeded reading. More often than not, they were made to support the author‘s opinion and assumptions.
Without further detailed knowledge of the whole rocket science in Nazi Germany, it’s hard to place the book.
The story started so nice and exciting. I was in for some dragon war and a bit of romance. But it somehow quickly turned into something of a (postgradThe story started so nice and exciting. The story just barely came back to the relations between dragons in the end, as if remembering that there had been something else going on besides the romance. Also…the quirk of being a red dragon was also so…underwhelming.
If you enjoy a kitschy romance with some dragon setting but not a well delivered world, this is your book....more

I was never able to fully dive into one plotline and appreciate the storyline or characters. And in the end…the contest was just. Bland.
I loved book 1&2 SO much! These will be forever my favorite books ever written. 3 was okish, 4 was good as well. But the feel of the books changed so dramatically. I am disappointed.
PS: what has been done to Kaladin!!! I am angry…...more
