I didn’t sense real love or depth in their relationship; it mostly came across as lust.
The portrayal of religious themes was also troubling. Even as a Muslim reader, I found some parts triggering. Instead of exploring Tyler’s inner conflict as a priest falling in love, he often felt like a stereotype—more focused on desire than on his vows. His reasons for justifying his actions were weak and didn’t add depth to the story. The sex scene on the church altar felt particularly disrespectful, given its sacredness.
Ultimately, I didn’t finish the book. While Priest has some steamy moments, it lacks a strong storyline and emotional depth.
