This is by far, hands down, my favorite read of 2017! Megan Quinn held me hostage for 2 hours and I crushed Bodi Banks's story! I have no idea how she can have me laughing so hard on one page and then emotionally distraught on the next. Stroked Long...fabulous...the story, the characters...the writing!
I feel like this is one of those books were you can feel the author's emotions and the words depict the struggles...everything that makes the read totally worthwhile. The background story of Bodi isn't pretty and his regimented life with everything in order and all focus done in the pool is totally captivating and so inherently sad. Then comes along Ruby..."Rubes"...and the story just takes off on the quirkiest, most heart-felt journey. Totally out of the box as a larger than life, it is amazing to read how a filterless woman steals the heart and heals the mind of a broken man.
I found the slow developing friends to lovers tale to be so completely palpable. Sexy and sweet one minute and then emotional and tumultuous the next. I cant think of a more perfect couple than the black and white shell of a man Bodi is and a rainbow filled ball of fire that is Ruby.
“Sometimes the beauty in the art piece isn’t about the strokes, Bodi. Sometimes it’s about the colors and how you mold them together. It’s really about taking a dark, mysterious color and mixing it with something bright and cheery. It’s the contrast that makes them so beautiful together.”
Totally sums up Stroked Long to perfection! ...more

In the midst of the dark and the ugly that is often life, KA delivered one hell of a story in just some 100 pages. Instead of finding that rough and gruff KA alpha who takes and offers little response, she gifts her readers with the most amazing of all hearts, Marcus Sloan. Showing his alpha trait, he claims Daisy before any words are spoken. He provides for her...keeps her safe...stays the course and delivers consistency in her life of emptiness.
I wish I had the right words to say how awesome this series has been and how perfect Marcus and Daisy made for an ending. I could have easily read so many more pages of this couple. With his classy/neat suits and her tight fitted, cleavage baring outfits, they are the perfect fairytale. Marcus is the truest of white knights giving a deserving southern beauty a good life of love...loyalty...and light. Nothing but a million thanks to the woman...the legend...KA!!!...more

Vicious is the bI don’t think I could have picked a better read than L.J. Shen’s Vicious to start this New Year. Fresh, Raw, Gritty and so delicious. Vicious is the bad boy that everyone hates to love. Entitled, rude, and devious beyond a doubt…but his upbringing of privilege spent harassing the Help is nothing compared to the dominant alpha man behavior he displays as an adult, especially when he finally decides to stake his claim on what he always knew was his.
I have no idea how Shen keeps delivering total Assholes who have me completely enrapt. I flipping love her stories because of the total dark bad boys that own them and I’m not talking about just a typical Bad boy…I’m talking about Grade A -JERK! In the end thought, it doesn’t matter because they are irresistible.
Vicious is just that brutal. A boy whose fascination with the help’s young beautiful daughter is purely malevolent. They say love and hate are so finely connected and perhaps it is true but this is so much more than pulling pig-tails. Poor Emilia LeBlanc…good inside and out, she just wants to live and paint. She wants to just get thru without suffering the painful words and actions from Baron/Vicious. She wants a chance to just be without the constant reminders of the cruelty her adolescent fascination bestowed upon her.
“He was toxic, poison, and he was going to kill everything beautiful in my life…
Oh but it would be worth it. In a not so typical love story, Vicious and Emilia have a strange connection of attraction and a constant battle of wills. Vic wants to own her…to hurt her…to consume her. Emilia wants to stand on own two feet yet she yearns for his fire, knowing how badly it can burn. Sharp, harsh remarks, brutal honestly, manipulation, and emotional torment makes this love story unlike anything else.
PERFECT. This story was Shen’s Best to date and just a glimpse into what she is capable of!

Full Package is another one of those romance reads that will have you full on swooning in between the laugh out loud moments. Also...it is predominantly male POV and that trademark Blakely wit and charm makes the whole story fabulously fun!
Dr. McHottie...Chase Summers is just all kinds of perfect. He is smart, sexy and snarky. He is the perfect best friend and roommate...oh and he is hot...did I already say that? Looking for an apartment in NYC is no joke so when his beautiful gal pal happens to be alone in her lease it just makes sense to bunk in. Josie Hammer might have just sealed her fate when the Doc moves his anatomy knowing and sweet tooth addicting self into her 600 feet of personal space. She may be cooking up more than sweet treats in her kitchen!
Yes, this was predictable in the friends to lovers journey, but what makes it totally unique is the complete lack of drama and overall feel good tone that never wavers. A bit of hidden feelings for a brief moment in hopes that their scorching sexual chemistry wont ruin their amazing friendship...but truly this is just two awesome people feeling the other out in the emotions department. Josie and Chase are so comfortable together. They are easy going and fun. They are loyal and always available for one another. They are the perfect couple that isn't!
Score another great read from this author. Full Package is sexy, sweet and completely endearing. this is the perfect book to get anyone out of book funk!

The relatI have to be honest, this is the first time I have ever read an M. Robinson book and found myself on edge…worried I wasn’t going to like it! The relationship of sorts between a MC born leader and a small town girl was cautiously uncomfortable for me and it took a while for me to come to grips with the tale that ensued…and one that would have one hell of a cliffhanger.
Creed Jensen is bad. Born into pure chaos, he has never known another way other than living outside the law. A true one-percenter, he exists under the firm hand of his father and there is little adoration…more reverence and perhaps fear. His life is not pretty, yet behind the tattoos and the tough façade, he has a true heart of gold. Creed is the bad boy that all need to stay away from, yet he is irresistible to all that know him…including an 8 year old little girl in pink with pig-tails.
Mia Ryder…never read a character like her. Full of sass and fierce independence. At a time when she should be playing with dolls and wishing for ponies, she is owning the waves of the ocean and wishing for freedom. Wise beyond her years, she too finds the dark, MC riding, cut wearing Creed Jensen irresistible.
So in a tale where one man is trying to find some purpose to his way of life and a little girl is trying to grow up too fast, dual POVs develop one hell of an angst ridden story. Half of this story is MC perfection with rough, raw and gritty scenes. The Devil’s Rejects are the epitome of badass with Creed Jensen never apologizing for blood shed. The other half is a traditional coming of age story of the good girl who wants too much too soon. A girl suffocating under the heavy law of her father and brothers. IT is not a surprise that these two souls…10 years apart find a connection…a bit of sunshine in the dark…a bit of chaos in the structure.
What a hell of a ride! There is nothing wrong with Creed Jensen. From top to bottom he is bad to the bone and he is perfectly imperfect. His story gutted me and while I was devastated time after time for him…I struggled to like him. Throw in the building relationship between he and a growing up little girl…and I was literally on edge. If you are not afraid of the dark…if you are willing to see the beauty in the darkness…Road to Nowhere is perfect. Just be prepared to be left on edge and a bit gutted…

I truly thought Kate Stewart hit a total home run with Anything but Minor but here, with Major Love, as cliché as it is about to sound, she cracked a grand slam in my ballpark. With the new rom-com adventures she is taking on, she is not only succeeding in making her readers laugh out loud, but also swoon and pant with her steamy romances. I don’t know what it is about her writing, but her stories have such a unique tone with heartfelt, emotional pull among quirky, realistic characters. For me, Major Love is another 5 Star caliber story from her sweet southern mind that tickles the mind all and touches the soul a bit.
April and Andy…where to start? While this is definitely one of those stories where two people fall into a good lust, it is really so much more than normal romance. Both characters are so inherently good and so deserving of a love of epic proportions. But neither can let down their walls to have a chance at the real thing. Andy fell hard for a woman who couldn’t reciprocate his heart, and April spent years accepting less than stellar emotions from an average man. It was easy to see the attraction between the two but what a breath of fresh air to read them fall into friendship...fall into more. Only time will tell if two people who can barely open themselves up in the same room can survive a relationship apart.
“Real love, the good stuff, the kind you can’t live without, comes with more than just a decision to love. It comes with the prices of patience and understanding.”
The back and forth attraction and emotionally charged intimacy is just as good at the “no-filter” sass spouting, birth control law laying shenanigans that April spouts at a dense Andy time after time. There is nothing better than a woman who can give as good as she gets. While there is a bit of miscommunication and quite a bit running, there is beauty with the strong Andy in his ability to apologize and his need to be with April. I loved the use of hilarity to offset any high angst or tension. There is nothing better than those moments of humor that only spanx, fevers with head congestion, and booty opera can provide. Who would have thought that Nyquil moments and white southern woman dropping rap lyrics could be found in a romance novel?! If that’s not enough to pique interest, well there is always the sweet alpha swagger that only a push bullpen coach could deliver…especially when the object of his “call” wants to “shake it off.”
“Beautiful, if you aren’t fighting once in a while with the one you’re fucking, you aren’t fucking the right one.”
Oh Andy!!! For those lovers of good writing and fun, sweet, sexy romance, Major Love will not disappoint. This is a slow, steady burn with humorous twists and turns. IF you have had the pleasure of experiencing Rafe and Alice, their continued love just enforces the crazy fun of April and Andy’s journey. This is one event I would buy a ticket to time after time. Major Love is a major hit and an automatic re-read for me when I need a smile!
This is book 1 in Tessa Teevan’s new Promise in Prose series, which stems from the steamy romantic Fusion Series. A spinoff, Wo4.25 Forever Mine Stars
This is book 1 in Tessa Teevan’s new Promise in Prose series, which stems from the steamy romantic Fusion Series. A spinoff, Words I Couldn’t Say is the love story of Ava Banks, the daughter of my fave Teevan couple Jeremy and Sierra Banks. Just like her parents, Ava met and fell in like at a young age with her best friend, the boy next door Tucker.
Ava and Tucker are thick as thieves experiencing the highs and lows of growing up and when they finally see the stars in their eyes that everyone else sees. Soon it is full on love! With family support and an unstoppable heart bonding they plan their future together, forever. When life tragedy derails those plans, Ava and Tucker make difficult choices as to what happens now. With sad emotions, fear, and a bit of immaturity, two hearts go separate ways but they never really break apart as to find new love.
The story is sweet and smooth as a little girl grows up and finds her dreams come true in Hollywood and the boy next door rises up to take over his family’s business. The heart of the story really begins with both characters finding professional success, but still alone and apart…missing something more. It is no coincidence that Ava’s star is about to rise up and that her past will soon come full throttle to her present. Ava and Tucker, all grown up have that same undeniable chemistry, only innocent treehouse kisses are nowhere near the lust filled thoughts both are having. Now is the time to find out if friends with benefits really can work, of if Ava and Tucker will have the courage to finally say those words that both need to hear for a forever together.
For those lovers of second chance romance, then look no further. Tessa Teevan does a fantastic job at creating likable characters whose love is pure and real. She gave Tucker and Ava a young love and she kept it real. When giving your heart away forever, no amount of time or space could shake that even when miscommunication and perhaps a bit of growing up has to occur. Both characters are sweet and loyal. There is no over the top or unnecessary drama other than the initial tragedy that forced the couple apart and some new “hidden” news that while shocking, didn’t stop the characters from being together. I always appreciate when couples can talk and be open and even though Teevan’s lovers were young, they had a great foundation and ability to be honest with one another.
Overall, Teevan delivers an emotional read with little bumps in the road for two characters who needed to grow up, apart, before appreciating their together. With hot steamy intimacy and poetic declarations of forever, I really enjoyed the second generation of romances that Teevan is developing!

No one had me more captivated than Zander!
Down Shit gives us his story and while he may be a Donovan man, his journey is more heartfelt and sweet than his "father's." All is right in the world when Zee is on the track. He has success, fans, sponsors...but he also has a tragic past. When he is faced with past memories he lashes out and runs from the only family and support he has ever know. He had no idea that his time away from the spotlight would be shared with another runner, Getty.
You could say this story is a bit of discovery by the ocean. A man struggling to be ok with his losses and a woman struggling to find herself. Together they have an easy tension...they fear what the other could represent but they find the ability to open up and heal with sassy one liners, roomie banter, moments of steady comfort, and a bit of flirting. It does not take long for either to connect and establish trust. Soon boundaries are crossed and neither know what to do other than to "just jump."
Zander has always been sweet and loyal so it was no surprise his story and his romance would be the same. While he may have gotten a bit of dirty boy tricks from the Colton Donovan...Zander has perfected the most gentle of caresses and the ability to show vulnerability while worshipping a woman. I cannot say I found his draw to Getty to be my favorite but I do love a man who makes "grand gestures."
Overall, this is a sweet and emotional read that provided another Donovan man a promising future!...more

Split is the newest by JB Salsbury and it is like nothing I have ever read by her. While it may have started a bit slow it did not take long for the tale to take off and for one heck of a psychological thriller with a twisting complex romance to develop!
To write a detailed synopsis would totally be an injustice to this read. Split is the type of book that a reader needs to go into blind. Each page introducing characters and slowly revealing bits and pieces of themselves…each scene creating a tension of sorts…all coming together for a well-developed thrill ride of life and death and perhaps even love. To keep it simple, Shyann Jennings left home 5 years ago in hopes to make it big. Suffocated by her small town roots and the heartbreaking slow death of her momma, she is defeated to come back home with no job and no money. Thrown back into the thriving family business is not what she wants, until she meets a beautifully shy worker whose presence intrigues her. With her inquisitive nature she pushes and prods a quiet man to open up and perhaps look at her the way she is looking at him, but behind that quiet demeanor is a fierce storm brewing created by a horrific past and uncertain present.
Lucas and Shy have an undeniable pull toward one another but there is something, or someone, keeping the push away stronger than the pull. I admit to struggling a bit at first with the two together as a sweet and gentle Lucas seemed to be an odd match for the pushy and driven Shyann. I got a very strong ‘friend' vibe for most of the first half of the book. It didn’t take long for the connection to be seen as more as both were looking to feel something real for the first time in a long time. While it may have built up slowly there was definite steam that bordered possessive ownership and gentle intimacy.
I feel like this is quite vague in terms of a review, but like I previously stated, the twist and horrors at the heart of the story are so important to experience blind. This is quite a departure from the Fighting series by Salsbury. Split is not dark, per se, but it is harsh. Horrors of the past are pure evil and quite difficult to read and they are a terrible reality for Lucas as his nightmares plague him daily to the point that guide the story, so much that it is a constant edge of your seat feeling as to what happens next! Is Lucas brave enough to open himself up to love? Is Shy safe enough to accept the heart she is asking for?
It has been a long time since I have read a book that has had me guessing until the very end. In the midst of suspense, I was so blown away by the beautifully broken love story. with a broken man and an open woman the read was written so well and so extremely unique. I loved the unpredictable nature of the characters and the total “lack of fixing” the situation. I loved that this author created a strong woman who did not shy away from her nightmares and that she was brave enough to take on more than one challenge. In the end the crazy was accepted and love came from a place of understanding and acceptance no matter how “split” the characters were!

A Million Love Hard, Love Fierce, but Love Right Stars
Jay McLean has written 11 books to date. She has shared her passion and her pains with her fans A Million Love Hard, Love Fierce, but Love Right Stars
Jay McLean has written 11 books to date. She has shared her passion and her pains with her fans and most importantly she has given her readers something MORE. McLean has taught us that we are all born PHENOMENAL…that sometimes you have to KICK and PUSH before you can COAST. She has showed sadness and hardship and even let us embrace RED LETTER DAYS. Then there were those days she had us CHECKING the TIME. Now with her latest release she has shown that sometimes CUGGLES are enough. That counting is important…ONE MINUTES are valuable. That sometimes true love…must wait.
With every book I read by this author I start jumping and declaring that, YES, this is the one that is my favorite. Her books have progressively gotten to me. Every storyline and each character has grown in my mind and in my heart with every discussion making me a part of something bigger than just a good book I read. With her coming of age, angst-filled fiction she finds a way to bring awareness to so many hard and dark realities and yet she still give light and even the gift of hope.
"Don’t you want to be the first to touch something? To reach out and grasp onto the world around you? You can’t touch it if you can’t see it."
Enter LUCAS. Lucas Preston that is. Those familiar with the MORE clan know this dependable, loyal brother of Lucy, among others! Knowing how so much emotion and passion came from the More Series, I had no idea how this author could go deeper…get more profound…do better. I had no idea that two 11 year olds, Lucas Preston and Lois “Lane” Sanders, would move me and make the most epic of love stories.
And so without meaning to, without wanting to, I started to fall in like with a girl who would later become my best friend.
I can attest that this is not the typical friends to lovers tropes. It is anything but. This is a love story of pure LOVE. A building of a relationship filled with humor, steadfast loyalty, and absolute knowing of your best friend yet at the same time there is real growing pains, young naivety and the heart-breaking want for more.
"And I think, ultimately, that’s what true love is, you know? To want to be someone’s hero when they’re faced with villains. To want to be to be the one that saves them. To be their Wonderwall.”
I know that this book got to me the most because at the heart of two young lives there was so much growth with both love and loss. There was finding home and developing support among strangers that become family. The single dad Sanders and the Preston’s were a constant and there was no better to guide these two young souls with words of wisdom and gentle hands…oh, and bit of prodding and fun! Lucas and Lane could have just fallen and simply existed in their own world but with time comes change and heartbreak. There were so many mistakes and loss of faith moments. There were seconds of bravery that were overshadowed by times of pure darkness and cowardice…but then there was counting… sixteen clicks…eight seconds…until all would be right again. FRIENDS thru and thru. Always there for one another. Always waiting to pick up pieces. Always holding the hand when needed. Friends to the end. What about more??? When is it time for Lucas and Lane??
"That it’s not about the dance. It’s about moving as one, with a person whose heart beats to the same rhythm as yours. It’s about love, about life."
There are not enough words to say how much I loved this read. I had over 10 pages of highlighted passages. Many people have their go to authors, and I know there are so many great talents out there but then I think of Jay Mclean…her stories, her delivery…her wit and charm infused into the lives of her fictional characters. I see the genius start to finish and I applaud her as an author...She is MY CoHO! Whether quoting Felicity or creating mayhem, this story is legit. Lucas…my new all-time favorite book of 2016 and the BEST McLean story.

Rebecca Zanetti’s Sins Brother Series is one of my favorite military/sci-fi 4.5 Stars for more Dean Siblings!
**ARC Generously provided via NetGalley**
Rebecca Zanetti’s Sins Brother Series is one of my favorite military/sci-fi type series. It was romance and suspense at its best and with Deadly Silence comes even more of those biologically created men and all their sexy skills.
While Deadly Silence is a new start to a new series, it does spin-off from the already established Sins Brothers. This story of Ryker Jones is a standalone, but there are characters and storylines crossing in and out of the tale. For me, this was just icing on the cake of a fabulous action packed story. Any time the Dean Brothers are present life gets hot and exciting.
Welcome Ryker Jones…dark, strong, and a bit mysterious. He comes in and out of town with no explanation. He along with his “brothers” Heath and Denver are always looking for something or someone. Together they help find the lost and perhaps along the way, try to find pieces of their past, as dark as it was. Ryker and his extraordinary way of reading people is just one of the many turn-ons that has Zara Remington always leaving the light on for him.
In a small mid-western town in Wyoming, Zara works as a paralegal and does her best to stay on the straight and narrow path. Her only walk on the wild side is the occasional tussle between the sheets with a strong, alpha dominant Ryker. She has no expectations as to where this occasional tussle is going, but when her good deeds put her in a line of fire, something fierce builds inside Ryker. He no longer sees Zara as a passing comfort. Now he starts to see her with one word…MINE. But with an active serial killer on the loose, his tumultuous past closing in, Zara the prime suspect in a murder case, and a strange 12 year old with clues to his past, Ryker may just have his hands full. Can he really have Zara forever? How long can he run before his past catches up to him? To his brothers?
I think my favorite thing about this author is her ability to make her men truly delish yet totally flawed. Ryker, while perhaps biologically engineered, is a hot mess of emotions. He is pure man with his take charge ways both in and out the bedroom. He has that “darlin’ and baby” swagger and the best protective bravado, yet he would like nothing more than to cut out of town or get lost in the bottom of a bottle. He is full of hidden pain and struggles to keep his anger at bay coming off as arrogant and brash. This author also does as fabulous job of creating her females as equals. While Zara may be a small town girl, she is brave and she has backbone like no other. Not many a woman could tame the wild heart of the strong Ryker Jones, but Zara has a sweet strength to her that just grounds him.
With so much suspense and carry-over from previous books, I was so excited with each new additional character and the twisting plots that promised more. While Zara and Ryker may have survived to life another day together here, it will not be an easy road. I was happy for a peaceful conclusion even though it was open ended with the promise of more. There is an eerie feel that the big bad is coming. Biology may have made these men, but their bond has made them family…brothers. With the Dean Brothers full support, Ryker and Zara along with Heath and Denver have a wild ride in store for them. ...more

**ARC generously provided via publisher per Netgalley**
I first met the eclectic Clarkson family when the four siblings piled into an old suburban and headed across country to fulfil a request from their famous chef mother. Rita, Aaron, Belmont and Peggy are not the typical siblings. They have issues that go on for miles and I am starting to see that their hardnosed, somewhat aloof mother may have just been a bit genius in her request for them to go jump into the icy Atlantic on New Year’s. As with each mile passed, each sibling seems to be finding more than a bond with one another.
This is the story of Aaron Clarkson. The rising star in the world of politics on the run from a sex scandal. He is focused and determined to find his way back into the political realm and he has the lack of conscience to do so. With his stiff suits and cut-throat demeanor, there is no doubt will get back into the office of the country’s most influential Senator. He just isn’t prepared to get his chance at the expense of a beautiful hippie who may just truly see him clearer than anyone ever has.
Grace Pendleton is like no other woman Aaron has encountered. She is free and fresh, yet tortured. He finds himself drawn to her clarity and open mind. She is all kinds of trouble, but nothing like the toil Aaron has found himself a part of in the past. Grace is a bit of a force of nature, literally. She is unique in her both her character and her look. Her mere “talk” and presence cracks the hard armor Aaron wears, and what is beneath makes this whole story so damn amazing.
I am the first to admit that I read Tessa Bailey for the heat! When I read book 1 of the Clarkson Family, I felt disconnected and really didn’t get much into the story. I can say with 100% accuracy that this book, just #2 in series, may be my all-time favorite of her works. This book is DEPTH. The characters are so complex and their emotions are truly palpable. I knew within 15 pages of this story that this would be different.
Reading Too Wild to Tame was like slowly unwrapping the best present. With each scene, layer after layer was retracted in a man and woman, only to be halted by self-doubt and never been had emotions. I loved watching Aaron Clarkson struggle with himself…struggle to find purpose…struggle to want more than quick pleasure. I loved watching a woman take a chance…believe in her heart…follow her own path. So while, yes, I appreciated the typical Bailey heat and dirty talking alpha male that I have come accustomed took, I found so much more with a new touch of sweet angst. I was reading a man and woman falling in love for the first time and taking that leap. I was also reading the growing bond and the much needed peace for the Clarksons with each stop along the way to NYC! ...more
