Rachel may still be the same in cerain areas, but she has evolved into the Kick-butt witch she has been marketed as since the beginning. I didn't roll my eyes or cringe once at a decision she made as I understood her thought process. So Happy for Jinx and My Boy Al! As for Hodin? Fate Deserved. That ending was Chef's Kiss! ...more

A lot of them usually fall flat with me, but this one managed to keep my attention, creep me out a bit (clowns) and excite me. All the stories were good creepy fun. Although not scary (I can't get scared from reading a book), they do manage to have a great scary mood to them. A quick read that will delight and entertain in a macabre manner. ...more

Okay, this is the final book in the Dark Corners series and I have to say, it was by far the best in the series. That isn't saying much as the rest of Okay, this is the final book in the Dark Corners series and I have to say, it was by far the best in the series. That isn't saying much as the rest of the books in the series have been pretty lack-luster. Now, I'm not saying this one didn't have any faults to it, as it has one of those endings that makes you re-read the last few paragraphs over an over again because you are questioning exactly what was happening and if you missed anything to explain your confusion. I hate endings I have to speculate on.
'Oak Avenue' does a good job of making the reader feel uncomfortable and curious about what is actually going on in the house, the small town, and the people our main character seems to come across within it. I'm still curious about what was going on, as the down fall of a novella is the inability for many authors to dive deeper into setting and people. I feel as a full length novel, this one can be pretty decent. It just needs to be fleshed out more....more

The Remedy is another disappointment that ends in wild speculation and the age old question of "What the F**k is going on here? This was a bit of a mind bender and not in a good way. I can normally find some type of saving grace for a story, but not here. I don't want to say it was the worst in the series as I have not read the last one yet, but it's close....more
