I absolutely love that he calls her Violence. I loved this book so much, but that cliffhanger should have been ilegal. I’m so glad book two is out but so sad I waited to read this masterpiece for so long. It has dragons, political intrigue, double agents and spies, and it’s spicy!! It was so good. ...more

IHer shirt was unbuttoned to her sternum, and Hart had to will his eyes away from the resulting cleavage. That is enemy cleavage, he reminded himself.
I think this is going to be my favorite read of the year. I love it so much. I identify with Mercy so much. And Hart was cranky but still so damn charming. How is their banter and real fighting, not fake flirty fighting, so funny and cute. These two went for the jugular, kill, every time. I honestly didn’t think it would work out at the end. The arguing and fighting was that bad. It was a little uncomfortable. But in the end love won. And it was so freaking satisfying.
This story was a little weird. The world is vastly different from any I’ve ever read before. It’s an apocalyptic future but like way in the future. People are back to living normal lives but it has changed. Especially the whole Old Gods vs. new Gods and all the demigods on earth. Along with zombies and literal cowboys. But futuristic cowboys that ride hover cars.
At the end it’s a love story though and I enjoyed this part so much. The drama was juicy. The tears came, a lot, and I laughed so hard. Mercy and Hart had my heart from beginning to end. Highly recommend if you like Firefly, Saga, and East of West. Futuristic cowboys, come on!!!...more

I loved Tess so much. I also loved Zakoar of the Broken Back. I was fascinated by him in Jerrok’s book. I wanted his story. I’m so glad I got it. Zakoar is a cyborg who has lived a very hard life. Hence, being a cyborg. It wasn’t by choice. He’s also a genius medic who helps others. I was excited to find out Tessa was the dancer with sad eyes mentioned in other books. I never expected these two but they definitely stood out and I’m so happy I got this story. I think I already said that.
It was also very steamy. Like on fire. The whole time. It was a short read with lots of sexy times. ...more

This story is so funny and wholesome. I cri He couldn’t believe it was only Wednesday. And it was made worse when he realized it was actually Tuesday.
This story is so funny and wholesome. I cried so many happy tears while reading it. Linus Baker is the best.
It was funny. Like really funny. I mean...
It’s not his fault he’s round. Right, Mr. Baker? Us round people need to stick together.
Kids are unpredictable and so very funny. The way they try to defend you but also put you down at the same time. Like, “It’s not her fault she’s old.” Uhm child please stop defending me. They are SAVAGE. And this book had magical children but at the root no matter what magic, still children. They got scared and worried and loved so fiercely.
They fear what they don’t understand. And that fear turns to hate for reasons I’m sure even they can’t begin to comprehend. And since they don’t understand the children, since they fear them, they hate them. This can’t be the first time you’ve heard of this. It happens everywhere.
It also tackled many sad topics. Abuse, neglect, abandonment, and straight up fear for these magical babies that couldn’t help be who they were. They were born this way and deserved love. The town hated them. People feared them. Some not just tried BUT HURT THEM!! Grown ups hurt these children. The fact that not just Arthur and Linus but Zoe and Helen were there to help take care of these children was so wonderful to see. I mean it when I say I happy cried. And sad cried. There was a lot of sadness too. These kids came into this place broken. And that kind of trauma presented itself in nightmares and so much fear. Gah!!
I can’t say anything without spoilers. Just know I highly recommend it. Highly! Please go out and read this story, especially if you are are a social worker or teacher. I saw myself in Linus and that’s weird to say but I work with kids and they all deserve love. Especially the ones who fight it the most. Yes this story is fiction and about magical children in an island. But it’s more than that. I know that when I get tired and question why I do what I do, I think of a child/student and it reminds me. And I keep working. It motivates me. So please read this story and just know children are precious and deserve love. And I know I keep saying this but this story made me super emotional and I love it so much. ...more

And what a tale this was. I don't even know where to begin. I don't want to spoil anything but at the same time I want to tell you everything!! EVERYTHING! I've already been up all night messaging my best friend. She wouldn't tell me anything while I was reading.
She was all... [image]
And I was dying. The middle of the book was interesting but dragged on for me. Mostly because I was so impatient. And my best friend wouldn't spoil it for me.
Mexican Gothic is set in 1950s Mexico, this is the story of Noemí, a young woman who gets summoned to a small mountain mining town to check up on her ailing cousin, who has recently been married off to a handsome and mysterious Englishman. The way their dances, food, and dresses are described was magical. It transported me to this time and I could almost see Mexico City. Then Noemi is sent to High Place and things get crazy.
It was unexpected and mysterious but most of all scary. I don't usually read gothic stories so I did't know what to expect. And nothing prepared me for this sh*t storm. Seriously, some crazy things happened. In all this chaos though what shined bright was love. I know it sounds weird, it being a horror story, but Naomi was sent to check on Catalina. Her older cousin Catalina who read to her fairy tales and spoiled her as a child. Her cousin Catalina who lost her mother at a young age but was motherly and nurturing to all the younger cousins. Catalina who was the sweetest soul Naomi ever met. Naomi loved Catalina and wanted to save her. I really enjoyed all the stories of Catalina from Naomi's perspective. It was especially interesting since Catalina does some things at the end of the book that surprised me but when I think back I should not have been surprised. She did send a letter asking for Naomi to visit (help her). She knew what she was doing. Anyways, I like their relationship very much. I also really like that even though there's some romance in the story that wasn't the main focus. The main focus started and ended with Catalina.
If you want to read a low key, that turns high key horror this is the book for you. That last 15% was full of horror because even though (view spoiler)[ the haunted house was actually full of symbiotic fungi that can control your mind and body. Who are used by Howard Doyle to then transfer his body into another body BUT can only be blood related so he wants Virgil to rape the girls ONLY BECAUSE HE IS TOO OLD TO RAPE THEM HIMSELF. Yes, if you are reading this SHAME ON YOU. Also, YES IT'S CRAZY and so very scary. There's more to the story obviously, but damn, what a story. I feel like these parts needed a trigger warning. Naomi was almost raped twice by the same bastard.
Also, someone compared it to The Skeleton Key which I remember vividly because it scared me so badly 15 years ago. And that spoiler was huge. And someone else said it reminded them of Lovecraft Country which is basically a house with a monster inside it. That also spoiled it a bit for me.
(hide spoiler)], it was still very scary. The house and all of the town people's stories added to the mood. It was a disturbing story. I wish I could say it was just one thing but it was the combination of everything and everyone. In High Place lived the Doyle family. There was Howard, Virgil, Florence, and Francis. Sweet, innocent Francis. I liked him instantly. Even though I loved that the story did not focus on romance I wanted more of Francis. That's probably my only complaint. That ending was so satisfying though. Maybe more story would have ruined it. ...more

Miles away, where the moonlight touched the black seam of the horizon, the Lark lay beneath the waters of Tempest Snare. And no matter where I went, I’d never get home. Because home was a ship that was at the bottom of the sea, where my mother’s bones lay sleeping.
This story follows Fable AKA Bad Luck Charm. And what a fitting nickname. Poor girl is so full of bad luck that belonged to her parents. She inherited their bad luck and it follows her every where she goes. Even though Fable had to do bad things to survive I loved her. She was an unlikable character you can't help to love. She was so well written. I also loved West and his monty crew. I feel like they were all looking for the same thing, a place to call home, and this made me not only want them to survive but to triumph. I was rooting for them the whole time.
Fable was such an interesting character. The very young life Fable had to live was sad and this book was actually way darker than I thought it would be. There is a lot of abuse towards her by older men. Not rape BUT they do beat her and steal from her. There is also murder, like crazy pirate murder. It was way more graphic than expected. The feel of the book was way more adult than young adult. I kept thinking they were older and the only reason this was YA was because they were all so young. And that ending!!! Talk about a plot twist.
If you want to read a story full of struggles, pirates/traders, adventures full of danger and epic quests this is the perfect book. I devoured it in almost one sitting. I made the mistake of starting late last night and had to sleep. I did not want to sleep. ...more

This was a super cute, sex positive, romance. It was funny and so heartfelt at times but not too serious. I loved Clara and Josh. In the beginning I was a little scared I wouldn't like this story. They felt so immature. So young. But then I realized both were emotionally stunted and the growing they made was so satisfying. Seriously, this ending was so satisfying. Also, the sexy sex scenes are on fire. Those were very satisfying as well. Like the book is on fire sexy. Like fanning yourself and not reading in public sexy. It was more than that though. I got to see these two fall in love and that was so freaking cute. Highly recommend it!...more

I don't thinEdit: April 26, 2020 So the whole Quincy thing was a joke right? Tora totally wants Poppy and Poppy wants Tora. So get together already!! I don't think I'm made for webtoons you have to wait for updates. I'd ratter buy the whole thing. Is this even for sale? I need more of it.
April 18, 2020 I just found WEBTOON last night and staid up until 5 am reading this and started another webcomic. I'm addicted and waiting for the weekly updates already.
This story is complete trash and I LOVE it!!! The main character is some mafia enforcer bodyguard. YOU ALL KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE BODYGUARD STORIES!! I LOVE them, if that all caps sentence didn't clue you in or if any new friends don't know. I love bodyguard stories. Even when they suck, I will always read them and always love them.
This story follows a tortured boy, now man named Tora, who gets in with the bad crowd. The very bad crowd. The mafia crowd. He is following some information to get a notebook and runs into Poppy by accident. Poppy somehow gets into this drama after running away from her boyfriend after finding him with another girl and crashes. I love this girl and I can't wait to see what other drama she gets into. The story says she ends up with Quincy but I swear her and Tora have a thing so I'm confused at the moment. It was all about Tora and Poppy. So now I'm thinking it'll be a Poppy/Tora/Quincy thing in the future which honestly I'm here for.
I know that it's currently updating so I feel guilty counting it as read but I staid up until 5 am reading this and I will count it. Maybe I'll update this review later when the new webcomic updates come up. All I know is that I'm loving this crazy comic right now. The mafia, the mystery, the good girl, all the drama from Tora's life. All of it is addicting and I need more....more

Danika BWhat an absolute sickening display. Romance clearly melted the brains of sensible women. Dani was horribly glad she had nothing to do with it.
Danika Brown is my favorite so far!! So much sass. So much intelligence. So much personality. Then enters Zafir and the chemistry between these two was HOT!! Explosive. Everything I didn’t know I needed.
“You do know this is a a drill, yeah? Why are you giving me Terminator vibes right now?” And “Anyone ever tell you that you have strong supervillain energy?”
I could spend this whole review talking about Zafir and his grumpy resting face.
“Are you crying?” “No,” he said. “I’m leaking masculine pain from my eyeballs.”
I just wanted to hug him. So did Dani! And that’s where this story took an interesting turn. Miss I don’t need love lost her mind for this man. And who could blame her. His dad tendencies where adorable. The way he took care of her was the sweetest. And he was genuinely kind. I could seriously talk about him the whole time. These two were great friends too. It was such a good read.

You can't just go round murdering people. There are rules, Nimona.
Killing solves nothing, Nimona. It’s vulgar, it’s messy. If you’re going to kill someone, you’d better be sure. You’d better be prepared to accept responsibility. So I don’t kill people just because they’re in my way.
This was an epic read and I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to read it. I loved the character names and that the Institution was (view spoiler)[ evil. Duh! I’ve learned how to manage my symptoms, now, of course. I have medication, physiotherapy, cognitive therapy. I’m fine, really. But I feel like a part I’ve learned how to manage my symptoms, now, of course. I have medication, physiotherapy, cognitive therapy. I’m fine, really. But I feel like a part of me hasn’t caught up with that. Like I’m still afraid of myself. That’s what the list is for. To help me get my bravery back.
Chloe Brown has dealt with so much pain. When no one believed her, not her so called friends or ex fiancé, she had to brave. She had no choice. She was dying from the inside out with no one believing her. Thankfully her family always believed her and many years later so did the doctors. She was so brave then and she continues to be brave now. I love this story so much because Redford Morgan didn’t need to be told. He saw her. He really saw her and believed her instantly. Man, this felt so good. The couples drama came from places of fear (view spoiler)[ her abandonment fears and his of being used and not good enough. Real fears. But they never doubted each other. They doubted themselves. (hide spoiler)] Which was so refreshing and inspiring and true. It was just so freaking good.
You think this is a big deal because, no offense, you’ve had a lot of people in your life who claimed to care about you but didn’t act like it. That’s not me. I can cook, and right now, you can’t. So I’m doing it for you because that’s how people should behave; they should fill in each other’s gaps. Don’t think about it too hard.
Can we take a moment to swoon over Red here. Because my goodness he was swoon worthy. There were multiple times I was just so in love with him. And it wasn’t just his hotness. He was so kind and caring. Like I said earlier he really saw Chloe and accepted all of her just the way she was. There was a point in the book when he’s planing the camping trip where he asks her what she has and explains he needs to know in order to plan appropriately so she doesn’t get hurt. And man I cried. Ugly cried. It was so sweet and he wanted her to have fun but also not get tired or hurt. And we all need that in a partner.
They were also hilarious together.
“Choke, Redford. Just choke.” He seemed to adore her more every second.
And sweet. Always so sweet. This was a true romance. These two found each other and slowly fell in love. The disabilities and biracial relationship were part of them but not the love. The love was all them and I absolutely loved every second of this story. I immediately told my sister to start reading it and she did and we’ve had the best text messages gushing over this book. It’s a great read and I can’t wait for the next stories. We get more of these sisters!!!
In Gigi’s words:

I mean come on!! If Gigi approves so do I!! I can’t wait to read more about these sisters. ...more

I laughed out loud when the new bodyguard said this. Duff also became one of my favorite side characters. This story had everything I love in romance. So much cheese. Like sappy romance. And all my favorite tropes. Friends to lovers, even if she doesn’t remember him at first, which was hilarious. Bodyguards, y’all know how much I love falling for your bodyguard. It’s my ultimate favorite trope of all. I will always love these stories. And the best trope ever, one bed. I see you laughing!! I see you!! It’s the best trope ever. Only beat by sharing body heat to stay warm. Which is so dumb in real life, but fiction is fun and cheesy. This was super cute and full of action. For a sports romance book, Eric is a hockey player, the action was intense. Like super crazy espionage breaking and entering action. Like a romance movie that takes place during an action flick. There was so much action.
Eric is bullies by his older brother Max to go undercover as a bodyguard on his off season. He only wanted tacos. He’s the perfect bodyguard because he grew up with Alex and his cover will be her new boyfriend. OMG!! I forgot fake boyfriend!! This book has it all!! Anyways, the new (fake) boyfriend undercover bodyguard stunt is what sets everything in motion. I loved Alexandra from beginning to end. I feel like her worries were warranted and she was being extra cautious with her heart. She is also (view spoiler)[ pregnant from an awful ex. (hide spoiler)] So she has a lot to worry about. I loved how good these two were together and even though the circumstances were not great they made each other happy. It was a sweet read full of a lot of side action. Totally entertaining and with just the right amount to of cheese to make me happy sigh but not roll my eyes. Their love grew naturally.
Highly recommend this story. It’s a great beginning to a new series. This is a spin off of The Brooklyn Bruisers series which follows hockey players of course. Read it! ...more
I have to confess something. Something that will tell you all you need to know about me. Something that will make you understand why I will always givI have to confess something. Something that will tell you all you need to know about me. Something that will make you understand why I will always give these books high ratings. I loved, loved, LOVED Dark Angel, the show with Jessica Alba. [image] I mean look at that! Max is half feline and her brother Joshua is half canine. And her other brother is Jensen Ackles, I don't need to say anything about him. He's Jensen Ackles. Enough said.
The whole secret government experiments with half human half animal spliced beings created in a lab is my thing. Seriously, it’s close to an addiction. I think about it way too often for it to be normal. I wish one of them had horns. Why didn’t any of the New Species have horns?? [image] I guess horns are not that practical. And speed and strength might be a better animal trait to have, but I want horns! This might also explain my addiction to Saga and Sweet Tooth. Both MC’s have horns. Uhm... I’m not ready to go there yet. Moving on.
Confession number two, since I’m already telling you everything, I love mates. I love the idea of mates. I love the possessiveness of mates. I love the growling. I know some people hate the whole instant love mates trope. I don’t! I mean if it’s not instant love are they even really mates? The answer is no. Give me mates that at first sniff know they are doomed forever. First. Sniff.
So to say that I loved this book to pieces is an understatement. It had a new species and mates. It also had forbidden love because you know a human and New Species can’t be together. This was my cup of tea.
“Oh boy. I do have a question.” “Hit me,” Breeze smiled. “That is slang.” The smile died. “Don’t really hit me though. You couldn’t hurt me but I might hit you back and that would injure you.”
I also loved the New Species women so much. I’ve seen the order of the books. I wish at least one centered on a female with a human. Switch it up a bit. These girls kick ass. They were funny and kind and loyal too. The New species watches a lot of television to catch up on human talk. In order to decipher our really bad grammar and idioms and well the English language in general. English is hard. So their conversations and trying to talk like humans was hilarious and honestly well done. There’s so much to work with there.
“Now tell us which one of our males hurt you and we’ll go beat the shit out of him. We’ll allow you to watch. It will make you feel better to see him bleed.” She glanced at the others. “We can’t kill him though. We’ll just beat him up severely to make sure he is in pain for a good week.”
I mean, how can you not love that woman!?!?! I want her to be my best friend. This was a really enjoyable read for me. Obviously. I confessed my love for all things New Species. I also love Ellie's protectiveness of Fury. When everyone assumes Fury was hurting Ellie. She defends him. She even said so herself. “Why does everyone assume you’re hurting me?!?!” She defended him and their relationship and Fury really needed that. She never made Fury feel different or other. She was brave and strong and just a good person
Ellie was what Fury needed and she made him stronger. There’s so much crap that happens with evil government types and crazy hate groups. Which was so funny (ironic not haha) to me because a couple of years ago I’d say those hate groups were exaggerated but now I know those crazy fuckers are out there getting stronger and crazier by the minute. Uhm...that turned dark real quick. Sorry. What I mean is, the crazy hate groups are after the New Species and there was so much fighting and other New Species freedom things going on that made the book even better. I was expecting hot animal sex between a human and a New Species, which I got, but I also got government experiments and so much more.
Pick it up if you want to remember your Dark Angel days or just to read a very interesting, adventure packed, love story sprinkled with a little bondage and a lot of growling....more

Well, this book was terrifying. I had to stop because I was too scared to keep reading. Part of it is the concept. Mermaid are real and they eat humans. Part of it was the way it was written, it sounded real. Like it could happen. Like it did happen. Like I’m never going into the ocean again...ever. It was also fascinating with the human relationships on the boat. At the beginning what kept me reading was the gossip. It was like a reality television show with all the drama. Ex husband and wife that never signed the divorce papers but still have them years later. Ex boyfriend and girlfriend who still fight and argue years later. Sneaky scientist stealing data and power. Older scientist treating younger scientist like crap. So much fake two faced people. Except the killers. The crazy murdering couple was upfront from the beginning and probably the only honest ones. They were killers. They enjoyed killing. They were going to kill everything. Also, the mermaids. They were also killers and were going to eat as much humans as possible. But the people on the ship, they were crazy and full of drama and the dumbest smart people in the world.
I expected the mermaids to appear the last 10% of the book but almost at the beginning BAM killer sea creatures. Worst, smart-killers-experts-at-hunting-humans-on-ships-mermaids (view spoiler)[male sirens (hide spoiler)] appeared. This turned into a horror story so fast and so sure. This book was not trying to hide how scary it is. This book is confident in the horror it will hold and the nightmares it will give.
Some people on here didn’t like certain things and all kind of pertained to the writing style which works for me. A dolphin POV, yes please. I kind of expect crazy from this author. I just need someone to root for and I’m invested in the story. I liked Victoria very much. I hated the name game played here though. She had more than two names. Gah!!!!!!!
Victoria—Vicky to her parents, Vic to her friends, Tory to herself.
I hate this name game played in books. It only seems to happen in books. That’s how you know who the main female is. She has a “real” name and the name she prefers. By the way it’s always the females. The men get to keep their beautiful name sometimes their whole name. Where the female says, I love his whole name it’s so pretty. Men always keep their name. Also, who the fu@& needs a different name to call yourself? In your head? I just talk to myself or direct myself as “me” or “I.” Who speaks to themselves in third person? Which we never even get to experience so why write it?
I’m sorry, it’s very late and I’m rambling because 1) I’m tired 2) I’m scared to turn off the lights. I leave you with this. It’s not an easy book to read. The vocabulary is high. Lots of smart people are on this boat and they like to show off. And there’s a lot of death and so much blood. I kind of feel like that needed a warning. But also the fear factor. I was so scared I stopped reading. I wanted to continue but couldn’t. I recommend it to everyone that wants to be scared but it’s not for the faint of heart....more

Jordan made this book so likeable. I just loved her and herBirthday wishes don’t always come true, so I don’t waste a chance when I blow out a candle.
Jordan made this book so likeable. I just loved her and her view on life. This girl was abandoned by everyone in her life and she felt worthless. Which made me cry so much. I don’t even know why. It wasn’t that sad. She was being strong and taking care of herself and I wanted to hug her and take her away. Seriously, so many feels.
Forbidden romance + age gap = steamy hidden love affair
First of, I want to let everyone know this book was steamy. The MC’s eventually get together about 66% of the book. You’ve been rooting for them the whole time because they belong together and the son is awful. Yes, the son. It’s not a spoiler it’s in the book description. The forbidden romance is between father and son falling for the same girl. This is what held me back. This book has been on my radar for a while and I couldn’t get past this. I also hate cheating. I was conflicted. If anyone out there feels like I do, don’t. It was done so well. There was no cheating. Well, there was but not between the main characters. Father falling for son’s girl is a huge part of the story though. Its a huge plot development and made Pike (what a stupid name, my phone is still autocorrecting to like) at times not likeable to me. There’s a reason Jordan keeps feeling abandoned. There’s a reason she feels not good enough. I wanted to murder both Lawson men. I understand Pike’s reactions somewhat more. He was jaded and didn’t want his son to hurt BUT he was so immature at times. He wanted to hide and not tell anyone. He wanted to keep her his dirty little secret. I swear Jordan was the only adult in this book and when something like this happens its hard to like anyone else. Her sister gave awful life advice. She had no friends. I wish she had at least one good friend. This story could have been very bad. It could have been boring and depressing but Jordan is so likeable and loves life. She knows it won’t always be bad. She knows she can do it. And she’s not afraid to walk away. I think she forgave too quickly but when hurt she does walk away and I loved her so much for that. I literally screamed, “Yes girl!!” So many times.
So what made this story great other than Jordan. Pike was so responsible and willing to do anything for his son. This includes denying his needs and love BUT again forbidden love so 🤷🏻♀️. He was hard working and true and you just knew he would take care of Jordan. The unexpected treat was the great sex these two had. What chemistry! Pike had been lonely and deprived. Jordan was used to mediocre. They rocked each other’s world. I’m not kidding it was hot. I devoured this story. I had a very busy day yesterday but still finished it because I couldn’t wait another minute to find out what happens.
If you’re thinking about picking this up but aren’t sure, just do it! It’s full of angst and drama but it’s worth it....more

What a great read. This was recommended to me back in July and I rushed to my library to be on the longest waiting list ever. I thought I’d never get it and then I did. No wonder that line moved so fast. Once you start you can’t stop. I remember Greek mythology from high school and I wasn’t a fan. But this! This was such a fantastic adventure and I truly enjoyed it. It makes me want to go back and reread those stories I found so boring. Maybe it was me. I was too young to appreciate them.
This story had it all. A beautifully written story about Circe. In the Oddysey you know her as the witch who turns men into beast but this story shows so much more. I was in awe at the monsters in this story both real and figuratively. And towards the end I was so wrapped up in the story. It was like a roller coaster of emotions. And I didn’t know what I wanted for her. Usually I’m okay with whatever ending the author writes but I was so conflicted and scared. Yet, I shouldn’t have worried. Now I know. ...more
I was not ready for this. The amount of drama and backstabbing and fuckery all around. By every single character. I. Was. Not. Ready.
The twistDeny me!

The twist and turns. I couldn’t read fast enough and why did I wait so long to even start. I hate myself for waiting. Is it just me or was this much bloodier than I remember? Which is so dumb since (view spoiler)[the coup killed so many in book one. (hide spoiler)] It felt more dangerous. Maybe because everything was hitting closer to home. The idea of danger is scary. Actual pain and suffering is terrifying. This book was on the terrifying level.
If I die here in the woods because I wasn’t better prepared, because I was too distracted to bother to strap on my own stupid sword, I will be absolutely furious with myself.
Jude Duarte keeps surprising me. Her crappy family does not. She deserves better. And that whole thing at the end with Cardan...(view spoiler)[ OMFG!!!! I think he banished her to protect her!! Hear me out, he cares so much about her. He married her!!! That was him being selfish. He wants her but knows she’s in danger. (hide spoiler)] At least I hope. I really, really, really hope.
And then we have this!!
“The three of you have one solution to every problem. Murder. No key fits every lock.” Cardan gives us all a stern look, holding up a long-fingered hand with my stolen ruby ring still on one finger. “Someone tries to betray the High King, murder. Someone gives you a harsh look, murder. Someone disrespects you, murder. Someone ruins your laundry, murder.”
He’s not wrong. I was laughing so hard at this though. A key detail in this whole part. He’s still wearing her ring!!! He stole it and then never takes it off. Her. Ring.
I can’t say much because the whole thing is one giant masterpiece with all the pieces working together or against each other. Either way they work to form this giant saga. You must read it in order and then let me know what you think. It’s one epic adventure. ...more

Jessie, is a 12 year old girl who wants a dog. She wants a dog so much she becomes Wes’s free labor summer dog walking assistant. It’s a tough job but gives her what she wants most in life. Dogs! Everything changes when competition arrives. Competition with a son Jessie’s age. Gah!! This book was just wonderful and I highly recommend it. We got to see two sides to every person/problem/idea. It was actually pretty brilliant. And the parts about her dad and mom were heartbreaking and beautiful. Jessie is a beautiful character. I love her so much. She needs her own series! ...more
