HOWEVER, I already wanted to DNF at 2% seeing how rude and bratty she was getting. I still tried but no. She gets worse every page: doesn't want to believe the obvious when she has proof and seen it, treats the Kings who are doing everything to protect and help her and her siblings like trash, is extremely rude and self righteous. More: she's the kind of dumb and stupid that thinks she's the last drop of water in the desert.
Also, nothing happened. Aside from attacks, nothing happens and the romance doesn't evolve. After one book and a half, I gave up....more

This series was a book too long. Maybe it's not that, it's that at least the length/number of pages of a book was spent talking and describing all and each of the MMCs past. it wouldn't be a problem if there was more, but there wasn't. All that was promised in book 1 barely came to be accomplished.
I understand and love a book/series character driven. This one accomplished that, but left very, very little to the plot. And the premise and promise of plot was AMAZING. Didn't come through though.
Despite all the above, I read the whole series in 24 hours. It was entertaining and I loved the characters.
Book 4 delivered a bit of plot, but it was totally rushed and felt a lot like YA....more

4.5⭐ Again, the writing is impeccable! A delight to read. In a review of the previous book someone mentioned (couldn’t find them again to credit them) 4.5⭐ Again, the writing is impeccable! A delight to read. In a review of the previous book someone mentioned (couldn’t find them again to credit them) something like the author using the full English language potential. I totally agree! It’s not pretentious, but extremely well written.
This book is much, much less heavy on the spice and more focused on the plot. Not a smutty book like the first one, but there are still steamy scenes. Surprisingly, I didn’t miss all that smut, and if the plot as it was had it, it would be out of place. I assume, from how things are evolving, that the next book in the series will go back to the latter’s roots.
The beginning was exhilarating and I was preparing myself for another wild journey. Then she ended up in a different place (no spoilers) and there was more world building, which was done beautifully and “as-you-go” so it’s not heavy or boring. Still cool af

I came for a smutty fantasy novella and ended up with smut-less (so far) great book who is disguised as something else.
WowCan i give this 10 stars???

Wow! The writing is impeccable, you'll feel all the love, hate, sorrow, humor, injustice, happiness, longing, and hope.
The plot is super original and profound. A lot is touched here and much is a symbol and a warning for our lives, at least in some way. Despite, it's a light read with tons of humorous moments.
The FMC is GOALS. So far at least. The MMCs are the most hot and hilarious guys ever. Even grumpy Cole, who I have a crush on.

At 35% (of a 500 page book) I mad a note: "You know the blurb? It still hasn't happened!!!!"
At 60% I gave up. It was past half and my issue greatly includes the writing, so I'm rating.
As Lissa wrote: "It becomes quickly apparent that this isn't so much a slow burn as it is a fluff project. Everything must be explained in the last minute detail, from city populations, to how the MC makes her salad (and what goes in it), to the components of a cash register. Just paragraphs of useless information that should have been a few sentences at most. This fluff/exposition drop isn't even presented in a particularly interesting way."
This book is boring, there are plot holes and the writing is atrocious. So so so bad. WORSE: the author gave us a note of at least two pages explaining what she likes and dislikes and what to expect etc. That was well written. So bad the book isn't.
I was suffering every time I thought I had this book to finish. Done. Finished early....more
