This book follows two crime authors: Maggie, who writes cozy mysteries, and Ethan, the Harlan Coben of this world. Both are invited to spend Christmas in a mansion owned by none other than Eleanor Ashley, this world's Agatha Christie. Naturally, calamity ensues almost immediately. As Maggie and Ethan try to figure out the mystery, they must also figure out their feelings for each other.
So cute, so fun, so perilous! My only complaint about this book is Maggie. While I understand that her character is recovering from an emotionally abusive relationship and has been gaslit by her ex-husband and ex-bestie, I find her annoying. Even though she's a highly successful author, she is still portrayed as a helpless little girl who can't do anything for herself (at least that's what she thinks). It was just a bit too much self-deprecation for me, but I understand the reasoning....more

VeYet another cute addition to the Christmas Notch series! This novella was a cute sapphic story about Addison Hayes and her bodyguard Krista Morton. Very hot, very steamy. The only reason I took off a star is because for some odd reason, the only format I could find this novella was in audiobook on CD... Though I love me some smut, it's incredibly cringy to read and even cringier to listen too! As someone who also doesn't really /like/ audiobooks, it was definitely a switch up for me. All in all though, I loved this story and the characters and I'm glad we got a deeper look into Addison as a character. I can't wait for the next installment!! ...more

Like right out the gate. I hadn't read the first installment of this series yet (I'm currently reading it), so I didn't know just how spicy it would be. I knew a bit from the back blurb, but sheeeeesssshhhhhhhh.
That all being said, I loved this book. It was cute and sexy, and Winnie and Kallum were #goals. I didn't vibe as much with part 2, but I still enjoyed it. It basically went from non-stop boning to (view spoiler)[ baby city (hide spoiler)] but cute regardless. Part 2 really showed the growth of the characters which was necessary after so much bone.
Great book, Great smut, Great Author. I love Julie Murphy, and now I'm a solid fan of Sierra Simone....more

I loved this book though! It had just the right amount of smut and heart. In AHJEA, the smut started at like the second chapter, but this book waited at least few more chapters before some sexy dry humping occurred. I also felt a lot heart from Bee, the female protagonist. She was large and in charge and was comfortable in her skin (something I'm desperately trying to emulate). I also dig all the N*SYNC/ Backstreet Boys/ Boy II Men lore, because that shit really happened to them, their manager was a major fraudster and left them with practically nothing. This book was everything I wanted out of a smutty Christmas book. ...more
