You are not really sure what you are getting yourself into. The author did a great job with the weaving and wandering to capture the reader's interest, but at some point, it got to be a lot for me. I like to know what I am reading, and something about where we are going in the book.
This is a very odd story in many ways. I’m not even sure what to classify it as but I think it’s a romance. It is also classified as a mystery; true crime could fit, though.
Regardless, Posey manages to take the weaving and wandering into a story that is very compelling with the developing “interest” between the characters. Loaded with dark humor, inuendo, and, dare I say, romantic interest, the two became partners, at work and at home, and that is when it gets interesting.
I loved the transformation of the characters as the story develops from the weird and strange, loaded with secrets, to misunderstood people harboring pain and loneliness.
Overall, Serial Killer Games is loaded with games. You have to be savvy enough to follow along and play too. Clever and unique.

Crazy plot but it worked so well. The author nailed it with the off-and-on feelings, the awkwardness, and the way they end up working together. I fell in love with this story as the characters fell in love with each other.
The amazing descriptions sweep you along and the balance between the characters is perfect. The age gap and the push-pull add the needed elements to the story. Plus, O’Leary adds the bit of angst at the end that rachets up the intensity even more.
Swept Away is romantic, sweet, adventurous, thrilling, and a totally addictive story. It is inventive and rich with detail – so worth the read!

The Love Haters is an interesting change of pace story for this author. Yes, it’s a love story, but it’s more of a love story where you are learning to love yourself first. Her main characters have been through a lot but together they are magic. Beautifully matched between strength, resilience, and dedication, they work so well together.
I love the interesting plot that Center develops and her imaginative story grows on you the further you get into the story. The characters are developed with depth and so real to life. The secondary older generation characters are a delight and seem like people you want to hug!
The MMC, Hutch, is it for me! I love the job choice and insightful plot. He is sweet, kind, and caring, not to mention so hot. He makes it totally worth the read! And, of course, his dog is the star of the show!
For a delightful read you will fall for, check out The Love Haters!

I love the beginning of the book, which sets the tone throughout. Hameroff used humor and wonderful characterization to engage the reader. But there are parts I know some readers may be critical of… So the question is: if it is a marriage of convenience and you make out with and have major feelings for the groom-to-be, is that cheating on your fiancé?
I have to say I struggled with this concept myself. Everything else about this book was great! The two were perfectly matched. The best friends were awesome. The flow and feel of the story are great! Never Planned on You is the perfect title for this book as it embodies everything about the book!
I do have one other question – Whoever decided that 3rd act drama is a thing needs therapy. I hate it! Plus, I really think we need longer endings to enjoy the fruits of the author’s labor and the HEA.
With all of that going on in this story, what do I really feel? Never Planned on You is a wonderful read, a delightful rom-com, and a story you will remember. For that reason, I think you should definitely check it out!!

This book has a sweetheart of a guy with a fun married-in-Vegas theme that was a joy to read.
Then we get the female lead, who was a perfect foil for him until she wasn’t. I officially hated her in the 3rd act drama and it took some of the shine off the happily ever after for me.
But what was awesome was their burning connection and intense feelings. I love how Bay developed their stories and the surrounding secondary characters, which were just as awesome. The fun times and support were evident throughout the book.
The Hero + Vegas = No Regrets is a romantic, steamy standalone book that will bring out your emotions right along with theirs. I love Worth! He is so sweet and kind. And I loved them together until she blew it for me.
This series is filled with swoony book boyfriends and Worth is the best! I can’t wait to read the stories for the other guys!

With a start like that, I was questioning the author’s direction.
The entire book ended up being something I was not expecting. As the author unraveled this amazing story, it was hard to not feel emotions. It was hard to not look at your own life in a different way and examine the choices made. It was hard to wonder if you see yourself differently than how other people see you.
I love Logan’s progression through their travels and how he challenged Sam with the status quo. Was there an ulterior motive? Eventually, the truth comes through, and it is an amazing connection. Sparks fly between them throughout the story as it changes from challenges and introspection to a true match that is both emotional and steamy.
Cruel Summer is an intense deep dive into self-discovery. This one will make you feel something. It’s such an amazing story!

I love a good crime murder mystery now and again and this one fit the bill.
I was reminded of another series of books that included the housekeeper/child caregiver, but as I started reading this, I saw that there’s absolutely nothing similar.
There are so many twists in the story and the author personalized it so much that I actually hated some of the characters. The intense story and overwhelming emotion of this got to me in some parts.
There’s nothing better than a book that you can get deeply involved with and those extreme reactions mean the author’s doing an amazing job. This author certainly did that for me.
I love the main character because he’s not squeaky clean. He’s got a history and knows how to use it to help solve his cases and protect his clients. Unique and just a great overall heart-stopping, engaging story. I’m looking forward to reading more in the series.
If you need a good crime murder mystery for your next read, check this one out. Witness 8 will blow you away.
I admit it. I am a total sucker for second-chance romance and friends-to-lovers romance.
So when this book hit my hands, I could not stop reading. My I admit it. I am a total sucker for second-chance romance and friends-to-lovers romance.
So when this book hit my hands, I could not stop reading. My heart was breaking on one page only to smile and laugh at their antics on the next as they tried to act normal around family. A permanent plus one for weddings, they cannot help but be together, especially at her sister’s wedding festivities.
This author loaded in the angst as we are tossed back and forth between today and the past as we learn what broke them. It seemed like it took forever to get them back together and not having a conversation made it worse. Plus family stress and craziness didn’t help much either!
I loved so much about Friends to Lovers. Ren is a sweetheart and his love for Joni made my heart break. I wanted to shout at her so many times!
Blakely could have made this a 5-star for me if we got a longer together story. I hate that we only get one chapter or so. We go through so much with them, why can’t we celebrate the swoon and love for a bit longer???
For a first book, this is an awesome story, especially for those who love second chances and friends-to-lovers romance. I will definitely keep this author on my radar for more!

I don’t know why other than maybe that’s just my type. But I love the interaction between the characters when you just have the super big guy.
Usually, they are depicted as super sweet, soft, emotional, nurturing people, and generally misunderstood.
The male main character in this particular story is exactly as I described, which is a perfect offset for the female lead who is very complex and afraid of her own feelings. She is tense, and healing, and we all feel it.
There are so many complexities about this girl that it’s difficult to explain them. But rest assured, the growing development between these two is so sweet. I love how they interact together—soft, swoony, and afraid of their feelings.
The author dives in deep with the nuances and intense descriptive areas of the story. North makes everything come alive. The ending for me is the best part as a third party explains the relationship and it is so sweet and romantic. What a clever way to detail everything we experienced firsthand.
The Ripple Effect was not what I expected in several ways. I was surprised but came away with huge emotional happiness for these two. The tension melts away and their romance blossoms. Wonderful!

Awesome police procedural with edge of seat ending. ~~~~~~~~ I love this series with Matt and Kara. My chief complaint is that we never get enough alone time with these two and Kara just is such a tough nut to crack. She will not let her barriers down. That comes in handy when she’s working at what she does best, which is solving crimes.
This particular plot was super intriguing. I love the plot of this murder mystery. Twisted people have been emotionally stripped by a cult-type leader and the race to stop the crime spree is edge-of-your-seat action.
When it comes to police procedurals with crime, mystery, and all of the twists, Brennan does it right. You have characters that you love, characters you love to hate (for me, it’s Katherine), and plenty of twists to keep you on your toes.
See How They Hide is fast-paced and loaded with the unexpected. I just have to beg the author to please let Matt and Kara finally get some alone time and give them the relationship they truly deserve. You’re killing us all here. ...more

There’s a lot of unresolved trauma between the two main characters and you can feel that hate/love going on as the story builds.
Both characters have past issues with their families and a lot to overcome. I think that added so much to the depth of writing and storytelling the author delivers. She touches on a lot of sensitive topics especially surrounding self-esteem and she also includes characters that help balance out the main characters.
Some of the secondary characters are a riot and bring the levity that we need to balance everything else. The plot is a little complex and makes for an exciting story that I really couldn’t stop reading. It was touching and emotional in many places and I love the fact that the male main character has been holding a torch for her since high school.
Monroe brings an epilogue that is a wonderful addition to round out the story. She pours in the emotion and passion we need for a memorable read. I really loved Four Steps to the Perfect Fake Date and can’t wait to read this author again.
PS: Three cheers for a cover that shows real people and not graphic art!!

I like her concept of the story as it was definitely a different plot than what we normally see.
The author certainly gave us plenty of twists in this book and I felt the romance portion was secondary to the action and suspense.
Personally, I was looking for more in between the two main characters. I felt that their connection was good, but the story lacked that intrinsic connection and passion, focusing more on the suspense/espionage factors. The secondary characters were a big part of this story adding depth and dimensional factors.
Code Word Romance is an enjoyable story that keeps you guessing. It is entertaining and completely standalone in terms of the plot. I wanted more depth to the romance. Otherwise, this is a fun, fast-paced, and exciting story that pumps your heart.
This author is really good at writing stories that you just don’t want to put down. They’re comforting and sweet with great relationships throughout.

Better Than Friends is a perfect example of that with strong relationships and friendships. Even with the second chance romance the simmering feelings are still there.
The story is about a very tight-knit family with a lifelong best friend and her twin brother, who is your ex. His best friend is married to your bestie. I love the deep-rooted family connection here and Shalvis adds a little bit of suspense and twists that you weren’t expecting.
This book is loaded with snark and humor but also takes on some very serious topics that bring out the emotion and heartfelt care in the characters.
I love the rebuilding of the second chance relationship throughout as the main characters reconnect. And when the honest conversations finally happen, we get a beautiful ending.
Each of the stories that this author writes leaves us with hope and a smile on our faces. While this is a pretty clean romance you still get all of the feels and joy.

While the authors do refer back to the other story, it’s mainly for clarification and the ties between each of the women so the reader can understand and follow along.
I highly appreciate the fact that each woman and main character in this book was written with extreme clarity and definition as to who that person was. What this means is as you read, you can visualize that person, and you become more attached to the story.
I love that these characters don’t actually seem to “like“ each other but they’re tied to each other because of the other incidents from the first book. They will fiercely protect and support each other, but there aren’t a whole lot of best-friend feelings going around. That can be a good thing.
The plot is very convoluted and leaves you guessing as the authors weave their path of clues for you to follow. The authors do it right by including humor, Snark, attitude, and fierce support for each other. They humanize this story completely for us.
Desperate Deadly Widows is a story of strength and bold women doing whatever it takes to protect each other and their business. A good murder mystery with action and twists to engage and delight.

Rose reels us in with multiple murder victims, a twisty brilliant plot, and actual growth with the ultra-slow, maybe in our lifetime, romantic interest.
The characters in these novels are complex and Rose brings in so many dimensions you could swear you know them. Messy backstories make them compassionate humans who excel at their craft, solving murders. This team is amazing and addictive.
What I love the most about this book is we start to see the softness of Kit starting to come through. The cracks are there and she is weakening…Can Sam hang in there? Will it happen that they can build a relationship? Gahhh – you have to read this one. I think Rose is the queen of the slow-burn romance. How long can she make us suffer?
If you love romantic suspense, and crime-riddled police procedural mysteries, you need to read this and any books by this author. So addicting!

The author takes on the issues that social media can bring to people in terms of privacy and the faceless person feeling like they can trash or say anything because it’s on a social media platform. Sad really.
This story dives into the psychology of dealing with grief and how it can affect people differently. The story tackles, not only the business profession, but also personal relationships, and how that can affect your psyche and outlook while grieving.
What was wonderful was the female lead taking a chance on traveling, meeting new family, and getting the backstory that she never knew about. Within all of this we also meet a wonderful guy who is a perfect balance for everything she’s going through.
Probst delivers amazing descriptions and details that paint a picture of Sicily that will warm your heart. The story is in the details and the author definitely enhances it with this vibrant setting.
To Sicily with Love is a beautiful story that is a bit of a tear-jerker about family, healing, and finding your perfect path. It definitely made an impression on me as I could relate to many pieces in this story.

I was looking forward to this one because it has the Sheriff as a lead and Bailey, the McKenna daughter. I knew it was going to be a good one due to the foreshadowing in the last book.
I love the way these two characters work off of each other. I did get a bit annoyed with Bailey as she stretched the truth for so long and kept a huge secret for years. Instead, she chooses to become a jerk and shut off from everyone. But patience and love are the key and once the truth comes out, the suspense cranks up!
Daniels plies us with murderous crime and suspense sequences that crank up the tension. The ending is wild and while I want to say it was unexpected, it was more of an anticipation. Something was just not right with some of those people she was dealing with.
The romance is sweet and mostly closed door but these two are beautifully matched and Daniels delivers on the push/pull that tugs your heartstrings. Stuart is a sweetheart!
With her trademark Montana stories, River Wild is an awesome blend of the things we love in a cowboy romance. If you have read the other stories in the series, you will not want to miss this one!! That ending will leave you wondering what’s to come!
