This story is not just sexualizing girls, it is also sexualizing cosplay and female cosplayers as a whole. If you want to read a manga series about dressmaking and the cosplay subculture, please look somewhere else!
Let me tell you one thing, I don't mind reading about authors writing and expressing their sexual fantasies about different women or teenage girls all that much as long as it's done in an artful and/or slightly-realistic way, but this series offers none.
Plus I really cannot stand the heroine and her 'innocent sweet girl' act, which is entirely unrealistic. I don't really mind if the girl is horny, likes to display her body and/or wants to sexing the male lead up, I don't really care, but I can't stand her doing/saying highly suggestive things around the male lead and acting like she doesn't know the stupid things she said are suggestive and she basically is actively leading the male lead on.
I skimmed through the whole volume but the story doesn't seem to touch upon any in-depth things. For example, the main characters' personality and their background/upbringing, their relationship or the cosplay sub-culture, and then at the end of the story..........another girl-cosplayer who is even younger (or at least younger-looking) than the female lead is being thrown into the mix.
Plus no one in the story has ever addressed the fact that the heroine, an underage girl is obsessed with haremed-themed games about young girls as sex slaves. I mean I don't have too many issues about the existence of this game in the storyline but I hate that no one is addressing how problematic it is. Sorry, I don't think I will linger around any longer....more

If you have problems with the overuse of fan service, male gaze, a highschool girl being constantly sexualized and behaving in an irritating stereotyped 'innconcently seductive' way All. The. Damn. Time, you can drop this series without looking back.
If you want to read a manga series about dressmaking and the cosplay subculture, please look somewhere else!
And did I mention said underage girl is also playing a popular harem-themed game about a bunch of fictional highschool girls being sex slaves ( that's the exact word used in the manga) and she is actively cosplaying as one of the characters?
If the sexualization doesn't turn your stomach, then the characters have some bad news in store too.
I really don't want to say that to a female character but the heroine is either (1) brain-dead and with zero common sense or (2) she is using the male lead's horniness and inexperience with the opposite sex to get herself some awesome makeovers and pretty dresses almost for free.
I mean, what kind of self respecting girl with 1% of conmon sense would go alone to a male classmate's bedroom, undressing down to a bikini swimsuit, with an excuse of letting the poor boy get her measurements!? And she even acts like she has no idea the effects of this naked display to the male lead!?
That's the ultimate example of leading a guy on.
I know I am risking myself to sound like a Victorian here but this kind of ' innocently seductive' personality setup really doesn't work for me.
Aside from the heroine behaving like those unrealistic brainless bimbos from a porno movie, the male lead's character isn't any better. Yes, he is a nice guy and he likes the craft of traditional Japanese doll making and dressmaking, and he is horny as fuck but trying to hide it when he is around the half-naked heroine, but I can't see there is much going for him.
If you don't mind reading the author's disturbing. shallow and unimaginative wet dreams about some stereotyped brain-dead girls with some big tits displayed right in front of you, give this series a try.
To be honest I am fine with boys and girls being horny (e.g. I have no issues with Denji being horny and all the sexual stuff in Chainsawman) and stuff in a fictional series, but Not. Like. This.
There are some talks about the author of this series being female, I roll my eyes and think, hell, women using sexual gimmicks to sell books/putting sex up for sale, nothing is new in this world, right?

I had high hopes for this series, but this volume 1 is a bit of a letdown.
First, the artwork is utterly dull and uninspiring, the black and white format does not bring out the characters' outlooks and the excitement of the battle scenes. Among manga that have similar themes, I would rather read My Hero Academia instead, at least MHA has more interesting character designs and more exciting panels and drawings.
Secondly, the story of the underdog hero is not as impressive as I expected. Underdog characters are usually quite interesting, but the hero of this series so far has nothing much to offer aside from his unusual name and his significant 'uncle' (middle-aged man) look. I feel nothing when the MC is fighting for his life or fighting to save other people, I just feel utterly distant from all the emotional dramas and the threat of the supposedly scary monsters.
Third, the character design is just dull, nothing is outstanding about the design of either humans and monsters. I mean...............Chainsaw Man has far more interesting, creative, and frightening designs for the monsters/devils.
Last but not least, the relationships/friendships among the main crew are underdeveloped, which makes said relationships unimpressive. There is barely any time and space for friendship among characters to develop like, at all.
Overall, it is not a bad volume, but it is just.........nothing special so far., I skipped through half of the volume in utter disinterest and indifference, I don't care when the MC is saving some little girl from getting eaten by monsters, I don't care when the MC is risking his life saving a teammate, blah blah blah. The artwork is not bad but nothing stands out. I heard a lot of good thing about this series and I haven't watched the anime based on it yet, but so far I feel I am not interested enough to continue with this one....more

(1) I like the short story about a student and the statue of the God of Knowledge, it is a fun story.
(2) I also particularly like the short story about a man recieving letters from a dearly departed friend. It's mysterious but not relying on jump scares or the spooky elements.

I went into the series with high expectations and Yuki-sama didn't disappoint.
On the other hand, I must admit Yuki-sama has better works, e.g. Count CI went into the series with high expectations and Yuki-sama didn't disappoint.
On the other hand, I must admit Yuki-sama has better works, e.g. Count Cain, Alice in Murderland, Demon From Far Away Land and Angel Sanctuary, etc. I still enjoy this series and Yuki-sama's creativity and awesome artwork, but I don't think I can enjoy the messages of this story about beauty, ugliness, true love and kindness. I mean, when the main couple and most of the main characters are at least pretty to look at and hardly anyone is physically hideous, what is the point telling the readers "a kind heart and true love is more important than physical attractiveness?". This message feels a bit shallow.
Still, I really like the main villain, La Medium, she is always pretty to look at, and although I don't like her endgame all that much, she is still quite an interesting villain. On the other hand, La Medium is just one of the villains in Yuki-sama's long list of female villains who are obsessed with being young and beautiful forever (e.g. Olga from Alice in Murderland, and the Queen from the Grand Guignol Orchestra series).
As for the main couple, I like Beast and the choice he finally made, Belle doesn't impress me so mcuh but she is an okay heroine I suppose (her relationship with her missing mother and their backstory is interesting enough). As for the other Belle (the princess), her main thing is get married to the Prince only which is just gross and boring.
In volume 4, a certain someone was back to the playing field again, Belle’s relationships and interactions with the Beast seemed to change.
The artworkIn volume 4, a certain someone was back to the playing field again, Belle’s relationships and interactions with the Beast seemed to change.
The artwork is as lovely as ever, in the story the subject of beauty and ugliness is discussed and I like how it's addressed that beauty didn't last long but it can be used as a sort of strength.
But, to be honest, I am not a fan of Belle's relationship with the Beast, I don't know why but I am not very into them as a couple.

The Curse of the Bird God.......the explanation of how the murderer killed all these people and created an alibi for themselves is passable, though the backstory is a bit weak, I mean how could these two people keep such a massive secret for 17-plus years!?
Then there is a new story, a pop idol was kidnapped by a mysterious villain called 'Clown Puppet', is the criminal aiming for ransom, or was it something else? I think it's only a so-and-so story, still entertaining but it's clearly not among the author's best works....more

The murderer's motive and backstory are revealed, and I swear it is one of the best murderer's backstories in the Kindaichi series!!!
This volume also introduces us to a new murder mystery: Curse of the Bird God, this time Kindaichi and Miyuki were invited to another schoolmate's home village, said schoolmate's father died a year ago in a landfall, and now everyone in the village was talking about the family's hidden treasure, the Curse of the Bird God and more misfortune in the future? The story keeps developing very nicely in this volume, and this time the story is narrated with an unusual viewpoint (POV) and the plots can keep the readers guessing. Overall it's a nice locked-room mystery!
(1) The story about the man (a doll maker) and the doll that looks like his dead girlfriend...that reminds me of some cases in real life...
(2) the first story is really creative. I like how there are some angel (?) characters creating humans and every living thing and lifeless things for the higher up! The ending is a bit sad, nonetheless.

So the vampires in this story are actually afraid of sunlight? Good.
It is a vampire adventure + fantasy series with good artwork, a refreshing setting and decent plots. Not only the idea of a vampire army (?) in 1920s Japan is nice, the fighting scenes are exciting, and how the vampire soldiers (among the 1% lucky humans who were turned into vampires and survived with their sanity still intact) who must leave their loved ones behind, living in secret as vampires to serve their country is a rather engaging topic!
I am interested in knowing more about the young soldier who was turned unwillingly into a vampire on the frontline, his reporter girlfriend (?) who didn't believe he was dead, the supposedly super-powerful S-class vampire who looks like a handsome and cheerful teen, and the interesting vampire soldiers/spies in the army!
However, not enough has been mentioned about the higher-ups in the army abandoning the lower-ranked soldiers and the ugliness of humans in general, one of the characters said "Humans are more scary" but I hope there can be more in the upcoming volumes! ...more
