This series really takes slow-burn to a next level, but the plot and the characters are still enjoyable!...more

(1) I don't understand why there is a mother freaking plot spoiler on the book cover!? It is totally not cool!
(2) I like that the manga-ka is doing more to acknowledge the existence of women in this fictional world, so there are hints that there are female students at the University, yeah!
(3) the artwork is exquisite!
(4) I am glad to learn the mangaka had walked mountains and forest at night for his creation.
(5) I really like how the manga-ka drew and breathed some life into the members of the Whateley family and the villagers through his drawings.

It is a okayish Kindaichi msystery, I enjoy it and I like how the folklore of the "Foxs marrying off their daughter" is used in the story, the explanation of how the murderer managed to create an alibi, the design is clever, so 4 stars!...more

Bottom line: a girl throwing her half naked body at a guy without the latter giving any consentRating: 10 "Are you fucking kidding me" negative stars.
Bottom line: a girl throwing her half naked body at a guy without the latter giving any consent is not cute, not every guy enjoys this kind of treatment, you know.
Guess what, if girls don't like being gripped, touched, thrown against the wall/floor/bed, kissed and groped without consent or at least being asked first, what makes you think a guy would enjoy this being done to him?!
That is just fucking gross.
The heroine's behaviours disgust me.
Plus, if girls do not enjoy seeing a guy suddenly taking off his shirt and trousers in front of them, completely without warning and out of the blue, what makes you think a guy would enjoy this being done to him?!
And...two underage teens in a love hotel...? Are you kidding me?
PS: I am disgusted that at the beginning of the story the heroine jumped the guy and she didn't even check if the guy already had a romantic partner or not, so basically she was making a move/throwing herself at a guy who might already be romantically involved with someone else.
The characters in this series and their behaviours continue to make me feel uncomfortable.
For example, does anyone mention the fact that for most of time what the heroine had done with the male lead is mostly without his consent?
You know, consent is important to boys too. Not every single teenage boy enjoys having a half naked girl pressing up against them, lifting their skirts and flashing their bikini bottoms at them out of the blue, without their consent, without even asking the boys whether they like it or want to see it or not!? Some boys would feel highly uncomfortable and embarrassed by such behaviours from a girl.
Plus, the original Japanese title of this series calls the heroine as a "Dress-up Doll", so does it mean the heroine is viewed as a doll to dress up with more than a human being? Sorry, this is getting even more uncomfortable for me.
I know, sex and the half naked bodies of girls are used merely as gimmick and jokes in this series, but still.
I will try one more volume but I am not putting my hope up....more

I look forward to the next book!
This story is not just sexualizing girls, it is also sexualizing cosplay and female cosplayers as a whole. If Rating: zero star, I AM SO FUCKING DONE!
This story is not just sexualizing girls, it is also sexualizing cosplay and female cosplayers as a whole. If you want to read a manga series about dressmaking and the cosplay subculture, please look somewhere else!
Let me tell you one thing, I don't mind reading about authors writing and expressing their sexual fantasies about different women or teenage girls all that much as long as it's done in an artful and/or slightly-realistic way, but this series offers none.
Plus I really cannot stand the heroine and her 'innocent sweet girl' act, which is entirely unrealistic. I don't really mind if the girl is horny, likes to display her body and/or wants to sexing the male lead up, I don't really care, but I can't stand her doing/saying highly suggestive things around the male lead and acting like she doesn't know the stupid things she said are suggestive and she basically is actively leading the male lead on.
I skimmed through the whole volume but the story doesn't seem to touch upon any in-depth things. For example, the main characters' personality and their background/upbringing, their relationship or the cosplay sub-culture, and then at the end of the story..........another girl-cosplayer who is even younger (or at least younger-looking) than the female lead is being thrown into the mix.
Plus no one in the story has ever addressed the fact that the heroine, an underage girl is obsessed with harem-themed games about young girls as sex slaves. I mean I don't have too many issues about the existence of this game in the storyline but I hate that no one is addressing how problematic it is. Sorry, I don't think I will linger around any longer.

If you have problems with the overuse of fan service, male gaze, a highschool girl being constantly sexualized and behaving in an irritating stereotyped 'innocently seductive' way All. The. Damn. Time, you can drop this series without looking back.
If you want to read a manga series about dressmaking and the cosplay subculture being meaningfully addressed, please look somewhere else!
And did I mention said underage girl is also playing a popular harem-themed game about a bunch of fictional highschool girls being sex slaves ( that's the exact word used in the manga) and she is actively cosplaying as one of the characters?
If the sexualization doesn't turn your stomach, then the characters have some bad news in store too.
I really don't want to say that to a female character but the heroine is either (1) brain-dead and with zero common sense or (2) she is using the male lead's horniness and inexperience with the opposite sex to get herself some awesome makeovers and pretty dresses almost for free.
I mean, what kind of self respecting girl with 1% of common sense would go alone to a male classmate's bedroom, undressing down to a bikini swimsuit, with an excuse of letting the poor boy get her measurements!? And she even acts like she has no idea the effects of this naked display to the male lead!?
That's the ultimate example of leading a guy on.
I know I am risking myself to sound like a Victorian here but this kind of ' innocently seductive' personality setup really doesn't work for me.
Aside from the heroine behaving like those unrealistic brainless bimbos from a porno movie, the male lead's character isn't any better. Yes, he is a nice guy and he likes the craft of traditional Japanese doll making and dressmaking, and he is horny as fuck but trying to hide it when he is around the half-naked heroine, but I can't see there is much going for him.
If you don't mind reading the author's disturbing, shallow and unimaginative wet dreams about some stereotyped brain-dead girls with some big tits displayed right in front of you, give this series a try.
To be honest I am fine with boys and girls being horny (e.g. I have no issues with Denji being horny and all the sexual stuff in Chainsawman) and stuff in a fictional series, but Not. Like. This.
There are some talks about the author of this series being female, I roll my eyes and think, hell, women using sexual gimmicks to sell books/putting sex up for sale, nothing is new in this world, right?
