anyway, 2 stars. this book was MESSY. the first 25% was just yapping and yapping! like yes, we did need the backstory, but beauregard sure uses a lot of words to say a whole lot of nothing. so much filler in the pages. the gore was... whatever? i've read better gore on sprunki fanfics on ao3. (view spoiler)[ also she should have a lot more trouble walking especially if he put boiling water up her vagina. (hide spoiler)] just saying.
the ending was VERY random. i saw a review saying that homophobia was randomly added in the last ten pages, and i was thinking, how do you add homophobia to a book like this? then it happened, and it was like, this is so fuckin stupid. really? its so uncreative, in a really random way. like, the author watched a mafia movie and was like oh yeah, i should add homoerotic organized cannibalism.
the teaser at the end... if i get time, ill probably read the sequel, but like... why didn't she just abort that thing? boycotting this author cus let vera kill that thang!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway, rant over. it was fine. it was barely splatterpunk though....more
