We get a few POV’s ; Laura, the convicted criminal, a neighbor, and the wife who was killed. Caroline Mitchell has a way of keeping the reader invested and turning the pages. It’s such a comfort read for me. It always feels like catching up with friends. Georgie is settling into motherhood, but Fig is being controlling about a nanny. Then some unexpected deaths are happening. Georgie decides to investigate. We see Zou Zou, Belinda, Granddad, Darcy, and Queenie. I liked that this one was Georgie’s show. She really proved her skills in this one. Love it. Have not been disappointed with any of them....more

I love all things Egypt, so this book had me so excited. I think the two timelines didn’t work for me. Past Egypt didn’t give me a chance to really know the female pharaoh. Just snippets of her rule. Eve was ok, but with her obsession being with the pharaoh but the excavation leading to King Tut, it didn’t seem cohesive. At times I felt the writing to be stilted; it didn’t have a seamless flow. I was expecting this to be a five star read, but unfortunately left me a little disappointed....more
