By the end of the first book, my patience starts waning. But I thought, "hey, it will start picking up on the second book!"
Then I finished the second book, and all I have left is FRUSTRATION.
A lot of things were happening and changing outside of the relationship, but THERE'S NOTHING CHANGING IN TERMS OF THE ROMANCE! I feel like I walk in circle and stay on the same spot! Like, seriously?? How long is it going to take?? 10 books??
And I just don't understand why they're all so obsessed with LUST over her? I guess, wow she's a freaking beauty, gorgeous, even more than beasts blablahblah. Sure, they talked about her intelligence too, but I couldn't really see it.
MMC kept doing mean things and punished her, then being sweet, then back to being mean again. He gives ME freaking whiplash! At this point, I'm not even sure if I can love him, nevermind his FMC. Not even sure if they would have trust and respect between them. If she ended up loving him, it would only because of freaking Stockholm Syndrome, I swear.
Even I couldn't buy MMC's feelings at this point. His interactions with the FMC were always of him "I'm KING! You should obey me!" and then she cowered and trembling. Oh, and let's not forget, that he kept f*cking other women. So he said she had his heart? like, his heart in freaking dirt, you mean?
Probably not gonna read the next book though. I don't have enough patience for this.
This is the first time in a long time ever since I found a FMC this annoying I couldn't even finish the book.

Every time she opens her mouth, she throws temper tantrum like a toddler who just lashes out, because of...well...I'm not even sure. She's annoying and worst of all, a hypocrite. She calls MMC arrogant when she's the one who always shows off and a know-it-all like an endless snarky annoying teenager. Dang. Toddler and teenager. I feel mean. But that's how annoying she is. I can't even think of her as an adult, let alone a Bloodthirsty Queen, when all she does is throwing tantrums.

It's one thing to **spoiler alert** I normally would feel sympathy for a heroine like Candy here. But after reading a few chapters, I still had none. It's one thing to grow up abused, but it's another thing to NOT learn anything. And this Candy, is as stupid as her name, because she simply didn't learn anything. She kept doing the same mistakes. She rebelled just because she could. And you mean to tell me that she's 'funky' enough to know how to rebel, but not actually grow up and learn to defend herself? So she only cared about being cool huh.
I thought I was a very supportive person, you know, I always said victims never ask to be one. But man, reading about Candy just made me rolled my eyes so hard. Sure, she didn't deserve it, she didn't ask for it, but she also knew the risks beforehand yet she's doing it anyway. It's like she's purposely throwing caution to the wind. Or she simply didn't care that much anyway. I mean, I would be hella concerned if I found my body bruised all over, but she didn't even care enough to ponder what caused it, blamed alcohol, and then she thought nothing about it afterward. She's like, nah I'll just use my brain to find out how to sneak out of the house.
Man, I sure hope we all lived in the perfect world inside her head when she'd be fine doing anything she wanted without bad guys. But the thing is, she actually lived in hell, she knew what it felt to get abused. So it's even more baffling to me that when she's finally using her last functioning brain cell, instead of using it to really looking into her situation, she's using it to sneak out to a booze party with a boy she didn't even trust. Like, what! Why!
I kept waiting and waiting for her to learn something, but every new chapter was just proofs that she didn't have any brain. Oh, my favorite was when she didn't even know what she's supposed to do seeing her little stepsister getting drown in a pool. I was with the stepbrother then, WTF????? And afterward, she wanted to apologize but instead of apologizing to the sister, she went to the brother. Again, ??????
Does this review have a limit of how many times I'm allowed to say stupid? I hope not. Because Candy is not naive, she is stupid. Stupid heroine. She creates a new level of stupid.
I do hope she finally learned something though, noone deserves to get abused like that, but I simply didn't care enough to continue reading after she's getting high or drunk (again) at the party. Whatever....more
One star doesn't even do this book justice. If there were minus stars, I'd give this -10 stars.

I lost count how many times I closed my eyes in defeat and thought to myself, why am I torturing myself like this , when I was reading it. But I was stupidly committed. I was curious enough to wonder if the ending could make up for the whole mess. The answer is no.
All, and I mean, ALL characters were idiots with only one single functioning brain cell. F*ck them.
But joke's on me I suppose, I am the biggest idiot of them all for reading this. I believe for every sentence of their idiocies, I was dumbing down myself. Is that even a real sentence? See!...more

The author certainly can write. That's probably the thing that got this book 2 stars still.

I like my heroes. But I wouldn't call this 18 yo boy a hero. He's just straight up bully. And while I can get over the fact that he bullies the heroine, after all it's the fun of it, but in the end, he does sound like a psychopath. And I lost all my sympathy for him even after his reveal. Of course I'm sorry it happens to an innocent boy, but it stops there. And I actually pity that 13 yo boy MORE for the reason that he has to grow up to being a sh*tty person. Also, it doesn't count as a sense of responsibility if you only take responsibility afterward. Being responsible is freaking use condom when you have sex, especially when your girlfrie....forget it.
This damn boy got no respect whatsoever. The heroine is lucky he loves her NOW, I don't even buy his love, a freaking childish immature obsession is more like it.
But since it's a fiction story, hey, of course, the heroine is so damn in love with him after all that. But girls, and ladies, DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME. The second you meet this kind of boy or man, you run to the nearest police station, NOT being a fictional heroine who's acting like a saint and try to understand her abuser. That's what's going to get you Stockholm, and eventually, killed. Have no soft words for it....more
