I am a self-professed KA fan girl. The Hookup is classic KA in almost every way. The characters really shined and honestly this was one of the best narrations ever in a KA novel (only behind the fantasyland series).

Quick Thoughts: This was a pretty good listen. I have to admit that contemporary romance isn't my favorite subgenre but I still had fun. It had Molly's signature humor and hijinks! Quick Thoughts: I was a little annoyed with Stacey for a long time. I think if this had been a full length book I would have been cheering more towards the end. I haven't read the series so this was my foray into it (and I did fall a bit for the other characters so I will be reading more). This one I just wanted more from.
Audio Thoughts: She did a good job with Stacey's voice but I was not a fan of her male voices. He sounded young instead of a strong head of a household.

Quick Thoughts: This was a great 2nd chance romance (with a twist) with great characters and a whole lotta steam. Great little listen for 25 Novellas of Christmas.
Audio Thoughts: Noah did a great job with the narration. He was gruff enough for a rough and tumble Seal!

Overall Thoughts: This is my first Candis Terry book but it won't be my last. It cracks me up that I started in the middle of a series but I wanted a Christmas read over the holidays. I didn't feel lost, though I will admit some curiosity about the couples that came before (yeah libraries I can pick them up there). I will also admit that the setting is what drew me in because Vineyards are one of my favorite settings. However, it was the characters that really made the book shine. I liked that both of them struggled, weren't perfect, and how to grow with each other to work it out. The side characters made me clamor for more and the love story was swoon worthy. What more could you ask for? If you say a sage grandmother from Italy then you are totally covered. This has food, wine, sizzling chemistry, and characters that will make your root for them! ...more
