I liked this but didn’t love it. I don’t think Rowe and Noah really neeeeeeded another story. Or at least nothing in this book really enhanced their relationship or gave us more than their first book did. (Compared to Lucas/Andrei, and Snow/Jude who I felt got much more permanent and deep HEA’s in their second books.) Of course Rowe and Noah’s first book was my least favorite of the original four stories. I enjoy them as side characters but feel they don’t hold up on their own as much. Just my two cents. Still, it’s always fun to spend time with all these guys. And I had to read this to prepare for the final book; a second Ian/Hollis story. While Snow and Jude are my favorite couple, Ian is my favorite individual character. I feel fairly certain it won’t disappoint. ...more

I love San Francisco when it's draped in fog. Oh I don't like driving in it but from far away or when I'm there and don't have to drive, it's beautiful and almost haunting. Which makes it the perfect setting for our favorite Prince, now King, of Killers; Hawes and our King Slayer; Dante.
Yes, I'm reading this series fast because I can't put them down! Basically I'm getting nothing accomplished besides things absolutely required of me, like work. And work has been slow-I work from home-so you know what that means? More reading time! (And also being totally caught off guard when work does come in. Oops!)
So book one ended on the cliffiest of cliffhangers. I don't think cliffiest is a word but I'm making it one. Naturally I had to start book two right away.
Book two did not disappoint. Even though it ended with another...you guessed it...cliffhanger.

Luckily for me, because I was unintentionally smart and hadn't read these before they were all available, book three was waiting in the wings.

King Slayer was every bit as good as book one. The suspense portion was engaging and the romance part knocked my socks off. Like the first one, this isn't what I would call a high steam book. And yet it kind of is. The frequency of steamy scenes is low. But the intensity of the existing scenes is electric. Add in all the wanting and pining and two people who know they shouldn't be together but just can't help themselves and I was a happy camper on that end.
I continued to grow attached to Hawe's family. (And am still shipping Holt and Kane. It's going to happen. I can feel it.) And because this book was from Dante's POV, you get to meet his family too which was fun. It was nice being in his head for this book. Book one was only told from Hawe's POV so Dante had been kind of a mystery. I liked seeing things from his side. It balanced things out.
Book three here we come! Confession: I'm already 40% done with book three. I just got so into it, I forgot to update!...more

I did enjoy the I don’t know how to rate this so I’m leaving that part blank. I liked...parts of it. I wasn’t a fan of the first book in this series. I did enjoy the second one more but still wasn’t over the moon about it. But when I read that one I was way into getting Nash and Rendon’s book. There was stuff to like with this. Nash and Rendon were so cute together. Really sweet. But this book was too long and the drama at the end seemed unrealistic and OTT. So I don’t know what I think. Also I’m not rating it because I seriously skimmed from 30% on. But I didn’t care for this book. It’s hard to admit because I’ve enjoyed every book in this series and the Unbreakable series. Sure, some I’ve loved and some only liked. But I’ve never skimmed or gotten bored. This hurts my heart! This one just lost me though. I felt zero connection between Dom and Abe. And the story didn’t catch me. The story with the brother also just seemed so similar to the last Ward book, “Jackson.” I just felt...meh. I suppose it was bound to happen with so many books. And it won’t deter me from continuing. But this, for me, is the weak link in the Ward Security and Unbreakable books. ...more

And now, I'm having to say goodbye to another group of men I love; the, "Unbreakable Bonds," men. It's been a sad December.

While I have enjoyed some of the books in the series more than others, I've overall really loved these books. To the point where I've been known to talk to my friend who also reads them about the guys like they are real people, messaging her things like, "Aww Lucas and Andrei are so cute with their baby." That's how you know you've found a good series. When the characters are so deep in your heart that you are teetering on the edge of sanity.
It felt right that the last book was about Ian. After all, he was the one that really made them all a family. Like the second books for Lucas, Jude and Rowe, I was little nervous going into it. I didn't want unnecessary relationship drama. Ian went through so much before getting his family with the guys and his HEA with Hollis. I'd say he went through the most of any of them. Turns out the worry was unnecessary. Oh there was action and codenames and shenanigans. But never once did I think the guys wouldn't get through it. There were also feels galore.
See, what I liked more than the action and suspense was seeing everyone, not just Ian and Hollis, thriving and happy. Seeing all the little moments between the original four. Seeing all of them settled. I'm trying to keep it spoiler free. So I'll just say that, "Rialto," ended things pretty perfectly. I'm not crying, you're crying.
