It's rare to find a book that can leave you lost for words. When you're finished, everything you had just read consumes your body and you're left sitting there, soaking it all in. It's a beautiful moment to have.
This story was a huge eye opener for me. It's my first Colleen Hoover book where I fully related to a character. I may not have gone through what Ben and Fallon had experienced, but that feeling of self-doubt, is something that I believe we have all felt.
When you first meet Fallon, you know right away this girl has some spunk to her and I loved it! Her inner thoughts were funny and sarcastic at times. You discover that she's a girl with many hopes and dreams, but her insecurity is holding her back.
Then you meet Ben, oh Ben. I literally had a huge grin on my face because of him. He had a way of words that will make you swoon for days. He was also mysterious. I was constantly asking myself, "What are your intentions, Ben." I was dying to know what he was all about. I enjoyed how he kept me guessing.
Ben and Fallon together were remarkable. They're a pair you will route for and fall head over heels in love with! There is nothing bad I can say about them as characters. To the first conversation they had with each other, to the very last, was so special. I felt every single word they said to each other, and every moment they experienced. The one thing I loved the most was how, as the story progressed, so did they. Their layers slowly started to shred, and they became more vulnerable. It was absolutely breathtaking.
The dialogue was witty and charming! I enjoyed their conversations about books so much. Even though Ben is a writer, be isn't an active reader. Fallon is a huge romance novel lover, and it was so adorable when she would say phrases us book lovers know about. Read this book, and you will know what I am talking about!
Overall, this a story that defines the sacrifice you make for love, and the journey through your own self-worth. It has easily become one of my favorite books this year. I was left with many tears in my eyes, a smile on my face, and a heart filled with hope.
I do wish you all can take something away from this book, I sure did.
I stopped writing for months because I felt like I wasn't good enough. I had no inspiration left for my story, and the joy of writing slowly started to disappear.
Until now.
If I can make one reader feel even a fraction of what Colleen has made me feel from this book, then I think I'll be alright....more

Along the Way showcases friendship, love and self worth beautifully. I found myself completely sucked into the journeys of each and every character.
While reading this book, you get to explore the lives of three different people. I loved having all three points of views, and getting to know each character separately. Their personalities really showed through as the story went on. You will most definitely relate to these girls, and the things they deal with.
Dani – the shy bookworm, looking to breakout of her shell. Piper – a girl who has so much built anger from not having a stable mother in her life, but tries to find a way to forgive and be happy. Tessa – a hopeless romantic, looking to find real love like her grandparents, but also trying to find love within herself.
One of my favorite things about this story, was the people they all met. All ranging from different races, genders and ages. It was so inspiring to see how these strangers impacted their lives, possibly for the long run.
In 33 days, these girls go through much more than they had planned. It wasn’t smooth sailing, it was hard, and together they concurred something most people can't. They found themselves and each other. I not only admire them, but anyone else who has taken on this incredible walk.
Yes, somethings were left unsaid, but I think that was the point. You learn from the characters that it’s all about living in the present, that in time, things will fall into place.
Overall, this is a story I would want many people to read. You will laugh, swoon and hopefully take something from this, I know I did. Even though I haven’t physically walked the Camino de Santiago, through Jacqueline’s writing, it felt like I was doing it along with them....more
