Still good a good cozy murder mystery to pass your time in stress free reading...

Short review: Well this is not non-fiction, deep thinking kind of literature but sometimes a book's worth is measured based on how good of friend it was, in difficult times. Last week, I was on verge of depression and this book cheered me up. Purpose solved - reader happy, you get all the stars.
This wasn't the first crime the cats has solved. Of course, the humans didn't realise the cats' involvement. Nero often thought it would be so much easier if humans would just be more aware. The humans' lack of cat-communication skills made the cats' job that much harder because they has to practically hit the humans over the head with clues to make them think it was their idea.
I think this summarizes the book nicely. It was first time I read a cozy murder mystery where the crime was solved by cats. It was really clever and at times hilarious as well. I think there are tons of books might have same thing but this was my first book which has combined my love of felines and cozy murder mystery and combination was a hit!

I received this book from netgalley but I think the entire series is going to be available on kindle-unlimited since the author has most of her books available in KU.

Trigger: Rape (Vaguely mentioned but multiple times) douche alert
Short review:
I saw this on netgalley but never requested. But PNR with werewolves are my favorite genre to read, so once I found that this is on kindle-unlimited, I decided to give it a go. I haven't read much female werewolves, maybe just one in Night Create series and she became my absolute favorite. No one can top Elise as she-wolf. But I had to adjust my expectation because while Elise is full grown adult, Ness is some 17 year old teenager.
For teenager wolf, Ness is not bad. She is smart, sweet and equal cunning. There are times when I consider her actions bit reckless but knowing how much she suffered, who can blame her? I see lot of potential in the series but only time will tell.

Before starting, I debated a lot 'cause at one hand I like PNR but on other hand I am extremely allergic to male-alpha douche and the blurb suggested, there would be more than one. And yes, we got some major alpha douches (notice plural) in here, it is easy to digest because of expectation setting.
#2 suggests some love triangle and I'm not fan of that either so I might need to adjust my expectations again *Sigh. Seems like too much work, but we will see how that goes :D ...more

Aftermath: (possible spoilers) While I might be annoyed, with some South Indian girl calling her grandmother 'nani' (they never call them 'nani' it is 'awa'), Devi's character is geeky and so adorable. She is funny without trying, smart without showing. My kind of gurl...

Short review: This was awesome and so much more. This is what IPB or Icehome should be like. All frustration of Marlene and Zennek's story - gone. When it started I thought it was just typical IPB, you know resonance and khui and mating and I skipped but story definitely taken different turn when out frustrating couple (read Hannah) reached to fruit cave. Both are likable characters and new twist was breath of fresh air, I am sure we all have been waiting for.

After reading - I don't think structured review would be a way to go with this one -
Was she crazy to do this? To give up everything she knew to go live on another world with men she'd never met? Brielle had been independent her entire life, and she wasn't sure she'd be able to give up control to someone now.
I can't begin to describe what is wrong with above section - To answer your questions, yes and yes. and when did you become independent - this girl has been kicked out of her job (by her boss) and her apartment (by her boyfriend - technically it was his apartment) and that's her entire life. I know she should be desperate enough to take up this whole 'bride for alien' concept but still, girl please, think bit realistic.

It would be very boring and very emotional – totally women’s fiction. But what I have not accounted into consideration is apocalypse. So this is reminisce of an unnamed woman during apocalypse who was tough as nut and who was happen to be a midwife.
It is brutal book. It addresses many topics, which I rarely read such as violence against women, rape, slavery etc. and it makes me wonder, if apocalypse hits tomorrow, that’s the only reason why women would be hunted for? Are we really that savage? Who knows? We will never know until it happens but I pray to God, it never does.
I think this book is not for review, you just have to read it. Couple of pages, and you will know whether it is for you or not but I would definitely recommend. It is not a book, it is an experience....more

The only reason I did was, not to miss out on anything in others' interactions. I liked Gren less and Will even less...I think they are my least favourite couple of Icehome (and maybe IPB too).
Why does this happen all the time? Every time, I read Dixon's book, it happens that I am more invested in other people's stories than the main one. Like when I was reading Veronica's, I wanted to read Willa's. and while reading this (Willa's story), all I wanted to do was to read Angie's story. What is wrong with me?
Ok, so Willa's story- right....one bad decision after another. Gren, I can understand, he was a slave for a long time and cannot trust anyone since he was 'created not born' Gladiator -- like Frankenstein's monster. A monster/beast is not aware of concepts like love trust or kindness.
But Willa! I have expected more from her...yes, she doesn't trust 'blue people' but the reason was very flimsy. They both would have died a horrible death for the choices she made...*Sigh Very frustrated with this...but I think the next one will be better....more
