Reading this book after "Milk & Honey", I couldn't help but compare both books. They both talk about similar subjects, similar experiences and emotions.
Even tho, The Princess Saves Herself in thisfelt more... raw and wide, to me.
The author managed to put SO MUCH emotion in her poems, so much pain, grief, love, hurt, fear...

It is a sad book, but at the same time, we can see how much the author changed and how much she grew! How much she learned about herself, about her identity, her femininity, her needs.
With some poems, I almost felt she was talking directly to me... It was like reading about myself in those pages.
The illustrations that accompany the poems are beautiful!
Milk and Honey is one of those books I know I will read again and again, without getting tired of it....more
