Trust me, if you have not read this book yet, you do not want to be here. Don't tell me I didn't warn WOW. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.

Trust me, if you have not read this book yet, you do not want to be here. Don't tell me I didn't warn you.
OKAY. Wow, I don't even know where to start.
Sarah J. Maas has done it again. She ripped my heart out and crushed it. This book was so emotional on so many levels. I cried like 5 times. But hey, when it comes to books by SJM, this is expected. Also, my copy HoEaB was signed by SJM which makes it so much better.
First, I will start out with the whole world-building. Honestly, before reading this, I was worried I wasn't going to like it for this reason. After I heard that the story was going to take place in a city where modern technology and weapons are available, I was a bit hesitant. I was wondering, "How in the world is she going to pull this off?" I'm not a huge fan of urban fantasy in the first place, but this was different. SJM just made it WORK. The complexity of Crescent City just continued to pull me in more and more. It just WORKED.
Okay so Bryce has now joined Aelin and Feyre as my favorite female leads. She is the sassiest, most spit-fire character, but amazing all the same. And I am loving the whole red hair aspect. She also goes through a lot of grief throughout most of this book, and reading through her ups and downs has made me more emotionally drawn to her. Sarah handles the way her characters go through depression and anxiety so well. All of Bryce's emotions were so understandable, and it just made me want to give her a HUG. Like damn, this girl has gone through so much. And some characters in this book *cough* Sabine *cough* don't help AT ALL with that.
“What blinds an oracle, Bryce Quinlan?”
Now let's move on to the newest member of my book boyfriend club, HUNT. LET ME TELL YOU. SARAH KNOWS HOW TO CREATE SOME PRETTY GREAT MALE LEADS. He matched Bryce's personality soooo well. Also, the black hair and wings are a bonus. He went through the same grief that she had and he's been taken away from his own freedom for a loooong time. Him and Bryce healed each other's internal wounds over time during this book and that's the kind of romance I'm here for. I JUST LOVE HUNT A LOT.
Before I dive in to the plot, let me just say that SABINE IS THE ABSOLUTE NASTIEST BITCH. LIKE LITERALLY GUYS BECAUSE SHE'S A WOLF. SHE MADE MY BLOOD BOOOIILLLL. ALSO SANDRIEL. HATE HER GUTS TOO. I AM GLAD HUNT RIPPED HER HEAD OFF. AND MICAH. WHAT A SCUMBAG. BUT BRYCE DECIMATED THAT BAG OF DICKS LIKE THE BOMB ASS BITCH SHE IS. Sorry for the rant guys, I just had to.
“Memento Mori. Remember that you will die.”
Okay sooooo I loved Danika for like 30 minutes, but then she died. So I'm like, well I guess that's how this book is gonna go.....thanks Sarah. I knew that when she said "I love you" to Bryce that SOMETHING was not right. Well, look what happened.
Okay so I don't want to make this review too long, so I'm gonna skip to the main points I have to make. Apologies if this becomes very intense and disorganized. I'm just writing what comes to my head at this point. Buckle up everybody.
Let's start where it hurts. LEHAHBAH. She is such a pure angel that needs to be protected. That scene where she sacrificed herself for Bryce made me cry. That whole scene was just written out so perfectly. No words can describe that emotional impact.
“I am a descendant of Ranthia Drahl, Queen of Embers. She is with me now and I am not afraid. My friends are behind me, and I will protect them.”
Also, when Hunt came back to Bryce's apartment after killing those 3 drug lords and Bryce helped him bathe and put him to bed. I can't. I loved that scene so much it HURT.
And that whole scene where Bryce messaged Jesiba the live video feed of Micah and her in the library while EVERYONE at the summit watched. That whole thing was just spectacular. SO MANY THINGS HAPPENED. AND POOR POOR SYRINX. HE ALMOST DROWNED AND GOT EATEN BY THAT THING! AND WHEN HE WAS REVIVED, I WAS SO RELIEVED. BUT THEN LEHAHBAH HAD TO GO AND DIE. BRYCE'S TRUE STRENGTH AND BRAVERY WAS SHOWN IN THIS PART OF THE BOOK AND I LOVED IT.
“Sandriel just gaped at the feed that had shown Bryce Quinlan casually vacuuming up the ashes of a Governor as if she'd spilled chips on the carpet.”
Okay, I know I'm getting really disorganized with my thoughts here, but THAT SEXUAL FRUSTRATION DURING THAT WHOLE THING. HOLY FUCK. WE GOT COCK-BLOCKED SO MANY TIMES GUYS. There was a part where Hunt and Bryce were about to kiss and then BAM KRISTALLOS DEMON ATTACK. And then when they were on the roof getting all close with each other about to kiss again. AND THEN BAM SABINE IS STANDING THERE WITH A GUN. These guys never get a break....until you're on page 590 hehe.BUT YEAH SO MUCH SEXUAL TENSION BETWEEN THESE TWO. THE LEFT FUCKING NIGHTSTAND.
Oh yeah, so BRYCE ACTUALLY HAS A FUCK TON OF POWER. EVERYONE'S REACTIONS WHEN THEY FOUND OUT WERE HILARIOUS. ESPECIALLY THE AUTUMN KING. LIKE I COULD NOT BAHAHAHA. SHE IS NOW MORE POWERFUL THAN HIM AND I LOVE IT.
“Bryce's face crumpled as she lurched to her feet, sprinting to the Gate She didn't care how it was possible as Danika said again, "Light it up" Then Bryce was laughing and sobbing as she screamed, "LIGHT IT UP, DANIKA! LIGHT IT UP, LIGHT IT UP, LIGHT IT UP!" Bryce slammed her palm onto the bronze disk of the Gate. And soul to soul with the friend whom she had not forgotten, the friend who had not forgotten her, even in death, Bryce made the Drop”
I just realized I hadn't mentioned by baby Ruhn. He is so precious and I love him so much. He is such a good brother. He also needs to be PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS.
GUYS SO MANY THINGS HAPPENED IN THIS BOOK. If I missed anything that you would love to rant about, please do so in the comments and I will happily join you.
Anyways, I NEED THE SECOND BOOK RIGHT NOW. I CANNOT WAIT A YEAR. I WANT THE NEXT ONE TO BE 1000 PAGES. SARAH COULD DEFINITELY MAKE THAT HAPPEN. I KNOW THAT I WILL CONTINUE TO JUST GO OVER EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN THIS BOOK FOR A LONG TIME. I LOVED IT SO MUCH. BETTER THAN I EXPECTED. NO HESITATION WHATSOEVER IN GIVING IT 5/5 STARS. SARAH IS A BLESSING TO US ALL.
Alright everybody, I'm out. Thank you for making it this far if you have.
A COURT OF MIST AND FURY IS THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ IN MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE.
***CONTAINS A SHIT TON OF SPHOLY FUCKING SHIT. HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT.
A COURT OF MIST AND FURY IS THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ IN MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE.
***CONTAINS A SHIT TON OF SPOILERS***
REALLY, IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED THE BOOK YET, DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW.
THIS BOOK IS WAAAAAAAY MORE THAN 5 STARS, IT'S MORE LIKE 1000000000000000/5 STARS. I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE PERFECT BUT I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS GONNA BE THIS PERFECT.
To be completely honest with you guys, I have absolutely no idea where to start, so I'm warning you, this is gonna be far from an actual review.
May 3rd was the day I died.
I ran to my mailbox, knowing what awaited me there. I opened it and saw the box, amazon prime tape all over it. I took it and ran back inside my house. I stared at the box and took a deep breath...
THEN RIPPED THAT SHIT UP. I CLAWED AT IT, SHREDDING THE WHOLE FUCKING BOX IN THE PROCESS. I SAW THAT BLUE FUCKING COVER AND KNEW THAT MY LIFE WAS NEVER GONNA BE THE SAME. I TOOK THAT FUCKING BOOK AND TURNED THAT SHIT OVER. THE COVER WAS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL. SCREAMING LIKE I WAS BEING TORTURED IN THE DEEP PITS OF HELL, I RAN AND SAT MY ASS DOWN ON THE COUCH. I OPENED THAT SHIT UP AND READ TIL MY EYES BLED. DAMN STRAIGHT.
So all I read in the first 40 pages or so was blah blah blah Tamlin blah blah blah Where's Rhys.
And then the moment we've been waiting for happened. The moment where RHYSAND INTERRUPTS FEYRE'S WEDDING TO BRING HER TO THE NIGHT COURT. FUCK YEAH.
The Night Court is the most beautiful thing ever. Could it be any better? No. It was perfection. And when Rhys winnows with her there, Feyre's first instinct is to throw a shoe at him. THE ALL-POWERFUL, MOST FEARED HIGH LORD OF THE NIGHT COURT GOT HIT BY A SHOE. It was adorable.
And Rhys helped teach Feyre how to read and it was the best thing ever. All the while training her on her new found powers. These powers came from the seven High Lords and Feyre has all of them. EVEN RHYS'S
Feyre became a very strong character in this book, Sarah knows how to work in that character development! She knew how to fight for herself and always wanted to be there to help in times of need. And the reason for leaving the Spring Court forever was because stupid Tamlin didn't let her go anywhere and practically made the estate Feyre's new prison cell. How symbolic. Remember that time Under the Mountain, Tamlin? When your "beloved" was trapped in that same cell for three whole months? How you didn't do anything about it and watched her rot? How on her last day Under the Mountain, you wanted to have sex with her instead of trying to free her? Ever think of those things Tamlin? Doesn't seem like it because now you've recreated that same cell that's caused her so much trauma. Isn't he the greatest.
When Feyre made the decision to stay at the Night Court with Rhys and the squad (who I adore so much by the way), I was so happy. Not just because that meant Rhys and Feyre time (whoo!), but because it showed how strong she's become and that she finally escaped the captivity of the Spring Court into the freedom of the Night Court. And she is a total bad ass.
The Night Court squad is so awesome. We've got Mor, Amren, Cassian, and Azriel who I love all equally. They all have character depth, flaws, and pasts that we learn about. Mor's past was devastating and made me want to just give her the biggest hug. I also enjoyed amren a lot because she looks like she could kill you and will actually kill you. And Azriel and Cassian are also really fun to read about as well. They are all cinnamon rolls.
Let me just say, I love it when the girl saves the guy. In this case, it was Feyre saving Rhysand. They were flying and Rhys was hit in the back with ash arrows and was captured and whipped. Now Feyre, she was MAD. She winnowed and killed the guys torturing Rhys like the total boss she is and saved Rhys from death. I was seriously so scared for my baby.
NOW IS THE TIME TO BRING IT UP GUYS. THE MOMENT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR. WE WANTED IT TO HAPPEN FOR SO LONG. AND NOW IT'S OUT IN THE OPEN. READY THE CANON.
RHYSAND AND FEYRE ARE MATES.
RHYSAND. AND. FEYRE. ARE. MATES.
THE FANDOM RIGHT NOW.
AND RHYS HAD DREAMS ABOUT FEYRE BEFORE HE EVEN MET HER. WHEN HE FIRST MET FEYRE HE HAD A SENSE THAT THEY WERE MATES. HE KNEW THE WHOLE TIME, AND IT BROUGHT MORE TEARS TO MY POOR EYES. IT ACTUALLY MAKES ME WANT TO REREAD A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES JUST TO HAVE A DIFFERENT VIEW ON IT. AND RHYSAND REALIZED HE LOVED FEYRE WHEN HE HELD THE DAGGER TO AMARANTHRA'S NECK.
RHYSAND AND FEYRE ARE MATES AND EVERYTHING IS RIGHT IN THE WORLD.
AND WHEN RHYS TOLD FEYRE EVERYTHING, (AND I MEAN EVERYTHING)...(LIKE REALLY EVERYTHING), I CRIED. IT WAS SOOOO.... I'M SORRY I CAN'T EVEN PUT IT INTO WORDS, BUT YOU PROBABLY FELT THE SAME THING. YOU KNOW.
AND THE NIGHT OF STARFALL. OMG MY BABIES. THEY WERE AT THE BALCONY AND THEY WERE SHARING PERSONAL THINGS (I LIVE FOR THESE MOMENTS). AND THE ABSOLUTE MOST ADORABLE THING THAT HAPPENED WAS WHEN THEY BOTH WERE HIT IN THE FACE BY THE STARLIGHT AND LAUGHED. LAUGHED. AND SMILED SO MUCH. FEYRE HADN'T SMILED LIKE THAT IN FOREVER. AND OH DEAR LORD SAVE ME, I'M PICTURING THE GRIN RHYSAND GAVE FEYRE RIGHT NOW AND IT MAKES ME MEEEELLLLTTTT. I JUST SIMPLY CANNOT.
Now, let's talk about the hottest scenes ever between my dear Rhys and Feyre. THEY WERE SO STEAMY AND I WAS FREAKING OUT THE WHOLE TIME. I DIDN'T KNOW IF THIS WAS REAL LIFE OR NOT. AND THEY LASTED PAAAAAGGGGEESSS. A GLORIOUS AMOUNT OF PAGES. THESE WERE THE FELLOW STEAMY SCENES:
COURT OF NIGHTMARES.
THE CRAMPED BEDROOM.
MATE REALIZATION. (THE BEST ONE)
And Rhys is not who we expected him to be. He's sacrificed so much for his people like I can't even explain because HE SACRIFICED SO DAMN MUCH. And I seriously cried when he revealed all these things about himself. MAIN CAUSE OF MY EMOTIONAL TRAUMA RIGHT THERE.
I could go on and on forever about the many many many precious Rhys and Feyre moments, but let's talk about that ending.
Things were so perfect so far that I was getting scared. Scared that all that perfectness was going to be ripped away and I was going to be one emotional mess. And for a minute there, I was. You guys know what I'm talking about.
So Feyre and Rhysand acted like Feyre was under Rhysand's control the whole time so it made it seem like Feyre actually still loved Tamlin and that she wanted to go back with him. And then she wanted to make it seem more real. And I'm like "FEYRE IF YOU FUCKING TELL THE KING TO BREAK YOUR MATE BOND I SWEAR-" And then she tells the king to break the mate bond. And Rhysand's screams just shattered my heart when he was about to. And shithead Tamlin's says "Do it.".
AND THE FUCKING KING OF HYBERN BROKE RHYS AND FEYRE'S MATE BOND.
I THOUGHT IT WAS OVER THEN AND THERE. I COMPLETELY LOST MY SHIT.
BUT WAIT. IT'S NOT OVER.
RHYSAND AND FEYRE WERE ALSO ACTING THAT OUT TOO. THE MATE BOND WASN'T BROKEN. I REPEAT, THE MATE BOND WAS NOT BROKEN. THE KING JUST BROKE THE BARGAIN WITHOUT REALIZING IT WASN'T THE MATE BOND. THAT LOVE CANNOT BE BROKEN, ESPECIALLY RHYSAND AND FEYRE'S. AND SO NOW THIS SETS UP THE BEGINNING OF THE THIRD BOOK. FEYRE IS GOING TO SPY ON THE SPRING COURT AND SEND THE INFORMATION DOWN THE MATE BOND TO RHYS. YEAH FEYRE YOU GO GIRL.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Nesta and Elain were turned into High Fae. And Lucien is mated with Elain. Crazy, am I right?!
AND FEYRE IS NOW HIGH LADY OF THE NIGHT COURT.
I AM COMPLETELY SPEECHLESS AND AM STILL IN UTTER SHOCK AT HOW BEYOND AMAZINGLY PERFECT A COURT OF MIST AND FURY WAS. I CAN'T EVEN PUT IT INTO WORDS. EVEN A GIF. I JUST-- WOW. YOU GUYS KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I'M FEELING RIGHT NOW. RHYSAND AND FEYRE ARE EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED.
THE THIRD BOOK SHOULD BE CALLED "A COURT OF PAIN AND EMOTIONAL TRAUMA" BECAUSE THAT'S HOW IT'S PROBABLY GONNA GO. HERE COMES THE YEAR LONG WAIT. I DON'T THINK I'LL SURVIVE WITHOUT IT LONG ENOUGH. I WANT IT SOOOOO BADLY!!!!!
AND I'M MEETING FUCKING SARAH J. MASS ON THE 14TH AT THE CHICAGO BOOK CON TO GET MY COPY OF ACOMAF SIGNED AND MEET HER IN THE PROCESS! I'LL MOST LIKELY BE RENDERED SPEECHLESS JUST LIKE AFTER I FINISHED ACOMAF. I AM SERIOUSLY SO EXCITED.
I WILL SAY IT AGAIN: A COURT OF MIST AND FURY IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ IN MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE.

The reason why I started Shatter Me was because of this mysterious Warner guy*3.5*
THIS WASN'T AMAZING, BUT IT WASN'T BAD EITHER
***Contains Spoilers***
The reason why I started Shatter Me was because of this mysterious Warner guy I kept hearing about. A lot of you guys have recommended this to me because you know I have a huge thing for antihero/villain love interests, and in this case, Warner is (I'll get to him soon).
Thank you to my Goodreads friends who recommended this to me, because even though I gave this 3.5 stars, I still really enjoyed it and look forward to starting Unravel Me.
“Hate looks just like everybody else until it smiles. Until it spins around and lies with lips and teeth carved into the semblance of something too passive to punch.”
Once I started reading this book, I could not stop. I absolutely loved the fact that Juliette could kill with just a single touch and how she's been locked up in this prison type thing for a long time. Like, she didn't speak a word in 264 days! If I were her, I would probably go insane and start yelling to myself to make time go by.
“I wish I could stuff my mouth full of raindrops and fill my pockets full of snow. I wish I could trace the veins in a fallen leaf and the feel the wind pinch my nose.”
Anyways, so Adam comes in and stays with her for a couple weeks until they arrive at the Reestablishment. Adam, Adam, Adam, where do I start? I liked him towards the beginning when he was being cocky, but later on, I felt like I was going from Chocolate Lucky Charms to Raisin Bran. Soggy Raisin Bran. Or tasteless oatmeal. He just became so bland and a Mal-type-character (I always use Mal as an example for these types of guy characters). And he fell too hard and too fast for Juliette. Before I get into her, I'm going to talk about a little thing called insta-love so all y'all can listen up.
Insta-love can just insta-die. Now, I understaaaand that Juliette and Adam went to school together and that Adam has had a crush on her for like ever, BUT they haven't communicated in all that time until he was in her cell. And all of a sudden...BAM they're totally head over heals with each other. Their relationship wasn't that developed and it was...well...boring. Like Adam....and Juliette.
Alrighty, Juliette. Gurl ,you need a personality makeover or somethin. For a girl who can kill anyone with just a touch of her hand, you're not that intimidating. She felt more like a side character to me because she didn't do all that much or say all that much. Adam was the one constantly taking care of her and I felt like she needed to take charge for once. I hope she will go through some hard core character development in the second book, because guuuurl, you are as bland as waffles...without the syrup. And she needs to work on that blushing problem of hers, she only does it like every other page. Okay, okay, she's really not that bad, she just needs to find her strengths, that's all. I WANT HER TO ACTUALLY KILL PEOPLE.
“You're absolutely delicious when you're angry." "Too bad my taste is poisonous for your palate.”
AND THEN ALONG CAME A CERTAIN SONOFABITCH WHO WILL MOST LIKELY RUIN MY LIFE. HE IS A VILLAIN. HE IS A LOVE INTEREST. HE IS BASICALLY A DYSTOPIAN DARKLING WITH BLONDE HAIR. HE IS.........WARNER. OH THESE POWER HUNGRY VILLAIN LOVE INTERESTS ALWAYS KNOW HOW TO SHATTER ME TO LITTLE LOVE SICK BITS. ONCE I HEARD THE "BLONDE HAIR" THING, I KNEW WHO IT WAS.
Warner is the best character in this book. He is sorta psychotic, a stalker, and a murderer, but hot, so it's okay guys. I don't want to admit it, but he did have the insta-love thing for Juliette, but I ship it still. I shouldn't be shipping things like this, it's so wrong............yet so right. And they totally made out, even though Juliette was only doing so to get his gun from his jacket to kill him. AND GOOD THING SHE MISSED HIS HEART. I WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MAD IF HE ACTUALLY DIED, I PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE STARTING THE NEXT BOOK IF THAT HAPPENED.
Alright, so world building. Didn't like it because there really was no world to build. We hardly got any detail about this polluted dystopian world and I want some! I hope we get more of this needed detail in Unravel Me.
And I loved Kenji, he was so fun and his lines cracked me up. Apparently, he can turn invisible now.
“Son of a motherless goat!”
Lol what.
I guess Adam and Warner are the only ones who are able to touch Juliette without dying and I WANT TO KNOW WHY. I DID NOT GET AN ANSWER. I NEED TO KNOW WHY WARNER IS ABLE TO TOUCH JULIETTE. BECAUSE IT'S TRUE LOVE THAT CAN'T BE DENIED.
So I guess Juliette's part of the X-Men now. They're like 56 other people with abilities and they are going to try and defeat the Reestablishment who trying to make this perfect society. They hooked up Juliette with this purple onesie and now I guess she's ready to use her powers to defeat evil or some shit.
You know what else she could do with that onesie? Go have Warner unzip the back for her and then they can continue to make out.
Okaaaaaay....so again, I did really enjoy this book even though I did have a lot of complaints, but Warner makes up for all of it. I am excited for what the second book will bring and I hope that there will be some character development going on!...more
I don't think I've ever read anything like this before. Rosamund Hodge made me want to slip inside the book into IWOW. What a beauty. A CRUEL BEAUTY.
I don't think I've ever read anything like this before. Rosamund Hodge made me want to slip inside the book into Ignifex's castle and want to walk through its mysterious and beautiful rooms. Her descriptions are completely amazing.
The reason why I wanted to read Cruel Beauty in the first place was the promise of a villain-y/anti-hero love interest, and in case you don't already know, I always fall for these types. (Ex: Darkling, Rhysand, Magnus Damora, etc. etc.) Ignifex is easily on that list. I really don't know how to describe him along with my love for him into words. You just have to read this book.
The main character is Nyx and she has been betrothed to an-- just read the summary on the page. I don't need to write one up for you.
I really don't know what else to say about this beautifully written book without spoiling anything, but I can say that if you like fanatasy, mythology, and-- you know what just read it. Go. Stop reading this review and go read this book right now.
I freakin loved this book so much. I admit, I was a tad bit hesitant at the beginning becauRe-read for the show ............
DOES THIS EVEN NEED WORDS?!
I freakin loved this book so much. I admit, I was a tad bit hesitant at the beginning because of the pacing but then it was like BAM. IN YOUR FACE.
Freaking Kaz though. Freaking Inej. Freaking every god damn character in this book. PERFECTION LEIGH, PERFECTION. I WANT TO BE PART OF THEIR SQUAD.
Since I don't have the patience to write each character's deserved paragraphs on just how amazing they are, I will give them each a sentence on how much I love them.
KAZ: Are you even fucking real like how much more amazing could you get from this misunderstood and sassy guy, like what are you.
INEJ: Badass woman don't need no man to scale a six story burning-up-hell incinerator.
NINA: Shit just got real y'all caus she will shred your heart to pieces (literally) and bring the sass while doing it.
JESPER: Give this guy guns and he will bring shit down with his adorable puppy dog personality.
MATTHIAS: Trying to be a serious, stone-faced, anti-Nina blonde guy, but really he is rainbows.
WAYLAND: That one guy who didn't have a POV but was so awkwardly adorable all the same.
YEAH SO OMG.
CAN I EVEN WRITE A REVIEW.
NOPE.
JUST READ IT. THIS HEIST IS JUST FUCKING GREAT AND THE CHARACTERS JUST BRING THE SHIT.
KAZ AND INEJ=OTP (well one of many, check out some of my shelves)...more

So I read 300 magical pages of this book today when I kept telling myself to take my time, but whatever. I WANT NEED A CTHIS BOOK. THIS FREAKING BOOK.
So I read 300 magical pages of this book today when I kept telling myself to take my time, but whatever. I WANT NEED A COURT OF MIST AND FURY RIGHT NOW.
Alright. Serious talk.
Sarah J. Maas has easily made her way up to being placed as #1 for my list of favorite authors because she is just amazing and I love her so much. (I should've bought that signed copy of Queen of Shadows but I didn't because I already had the book and I was so stupid not to buy it caus it was the last damn copy)
Diving into the world of the fae was a very different experience for me. Usually fantasy books have the fae in them, but as one of the side groups that don't really get to be explored. And did I LOVE exploring this fae world....and the hot guys. Sarah knows how to write them hot guys. And the hottest one on my list is a black-haired, violet-eyed, life ruiner. Now, in case you didn't know already, I always fall for anti-hero/villain love ineterests in books, and guess who I fall for.....RHYSAND. I'm not complaining, he is just ahhhh... perfect. I cannot handle the amount of sexiness in this book.
"Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don't feel anything at all." -Rhysand
[image]
Like how could you not ship Rhysand with Feyre. Seriously. Now what really got me was when Rhysand was saying goodbye to Feyre and right before he left, he looked at her and was shocked and freaked out, then vanished. And I know many theories are out there, but the one that makes the most sense is that RHYSAND AND FEYRE ARE SOULMATES AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE. Here's the excerpt below...
(view spoiler)["Well, good-bye for now," he [Rhysand] said, rolling his neck as if we hadn't been talking about anything important at all. He bowed at the waist, those wings vanishing entirely, and had begun to fade into the nearest shadow when he went rigid.
His eyes locked on mine wide and wild, and his nostrils flared. Shock—pure shock flashed across his features at whatever he saw on my face, and he stumbled back a step. Actually stumbled.
"What is—" I [Feyre] began.
He disappeared—simply disappeared, not a shadow in sight—into the crisp air.” (hide spoiler)]
I NEED ANSWERS.
AND I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MAY 3 TO GET THEM.
Now when A Court of Mist and Fury does come out, it will mainly focus on Rhysand and Feyre's building relationship at the night court. We'll get to see Rhysand show up probably at her and Tamlin's wedding to follow through with the one week a month thing. And those weeks, let me tell you, will be the death of me. I'm fangirling so hard, I need air. And in case you didn't get a chance to read the excerpt on the back cover of ACOMAF, here it is...
And here's another that was released...
Immortal strength—more a curse than a gift. I’d dented and folded every piece of silverware I’d touched for three days upon returning here, had tripped over my longer, faster legs so often that Alis had removed any irreplaceable valuables from my rooms (she’d been particularly grumpy about me knocking over a table with an eight-hundred-year-old vase), and had shattered not one, not two, but five glass doors merely by accidentally closing them too hard.
Sighing through my nose, I unfolded my fingers.
My right hand was plain, smooth. Perfectly Fae.
I tilted my left hand over, the whorls of dark ink coating my fingers, my wrist, my forearm all the way to the elbow, soaking up the darkness of the room. The eye etched into the center of my palm seemed to watch me, calm and cunning as a cat, its slitted pupil wider than it’d been earlier that day. As if it adjusted to the light, as any ordinary eye would.
I scowled at it.
At whoever might be watching through that tattoo.
I hadn’t heard from Rhys in the three months I’d been here. Not a whisper. I hadn’t dared ask Tamlin, or Lucien, or anyone—lest it’d somehow summon the High Lord of the Night Court, somehow remind him of the fool’s bargain I’d struck Under the Mountain: one week with him every month in exchange for his saving me from the brink of death.
But even if Rhys had miraculously forgotten, I never could. Nor could Tamlin, Lucien, or anyone else. Not with the tattoo.
Even if Rhys, at the end … even if he hadn’t been exactly an enemy.
To Tamlin, yes. To every other court out there, yes. So few went over the borders of the Night Court and lived to tell. No one really knew what existed in the northernmost part of Prythian.
Mountains and darkness and stars and death.
But I hadn’t felt like Rhysand’s enemy the last time I’d spoken to him, in the hours after Amarantha’s defeat. I’d told no one about that meeting, what he’d said to me, what I’d confessed to him.
Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don’t feel anything at all.
I squeezed my fingers into a fist, blocking out that eye, the tattoo. I uncoiled to my feet, and flushed the toilet before padding to the sink to rinse out my mouth, then wash my face.
I wished I felt nothing.
I wished my human heart had been changed with the rest of me, made into immortal marble. Instead of the shredded bit of blackness that it now was, leaking its ichor into me.
Tamlin remained asleep as I crept back into my darkened bedroom, his naked body sprawled across the mattress. For a moment, I just admired the powerful muscles of his back, so lovingly traced by the moonlight, his golden hair, mussed with sleep and the fingers I’d run through it while we made love earlier.
For him, I had done this—for him, I’d gladly wrecked myself and my immortal soul.
And now I had eternity to live with it.
I continued to the bed, each step heavier, harder. The sheets were now cool and dry, and I slipped in, curling my back to him, wrapping my arms around myself. His breathing was deep—even. But with my Fae ears … sometimes I wondered if I heard his breath catch, only for a heartbeat. I never had the nerve to ask if he was awake.
He never woke when the nightmares dragged me from sleep; never woke when I vomited my guts up night after night. If he knew or heard, he said nothing about it.
I knew similar dreams chased him from his slumber as often as I fled from mine. The first time it had happened, I’d awoken—tried to speak to him. But he’d shaken off my touch, his skin clammy, and had shifted into that beast of fur and claws and horns and fangs. He’d spent the rest of the night sprawled across the foot of the bed, monitoring the door, the wall of windows.
He’d since spent many nights like that.
Curled in the bed, I pulled the blanket higher, craving its warmth against the chill night. It had become our unspoken agreement—not to let Amarantha win by acknowledging that she still tormented us in our dreams and waking hours.
It was easier to not have to explain, anyway. To not have to tell him that though I’d freed him, saved his people and all of Prythian from Amarantha … I’d broken myself apart.
And I didn’t think even eternity would be long enough to fix me.
Don't get me wrong I love Tamlin, but Rhysand has more chemistry with Feyre. Sarah is also known for not sticking with the first relationship. If ACOMAF is going to have a lot of Rhysand and Feyre in it, there's a reason. I'll leave you with that.
