The story fell flat soon after though as we delved into magic, gardening, churning butter and people choosing apartments based on kitchen appliances in their newly formed town. Redeemed itself somewhat towards the end and has me curious about the second book.

We follow Quinto/Brent, a former child actor who gets his big break back into Hollywood playing a serial killer. He uses "The method" to immerse himself into the role of P.J, taking that method to the next level. ...more

At first I wasn't sure I'd be able to get through all the science and math...and yeah there is that but somehow its interesting. Just an excellent story. Funny, thrilling, thought provoking, sad, heroic, all the emotions. The best parts were Grace's evolving relationship with Rocky. Amaze! This would make a great movie. Oh and Ray Porters narration via Audible added so much emotion to the story, perfect.

Its ultimately a sweet MC story. Still I enjoyed this, way more than expected. The author is Australian so there are some Aussie words strewn about. I wish the narration via Audible hadn't been with an American accent that would have made this stand out more. ...more

Enjoyed the main character, Jake Fisher especially when he had moments of humour, wish there'd been more of those. Some action along the way, lots of sleuthing as Jake tries to find his lost love Natalie The mystery itself was not all that interesting and actually kinda silly, not really worth all that murder.. Liked the twist-ish ending....more

Starts out as a friends with benefits, sneaking around set up and of course becomes more. I enjoyed the hockey aspect, the romance was good with plenty of steam and a sigh worthy ending that unfortunately went on a couple of chapters too long and got very sappy. I would read more from this series....more
