This is the story of Sir Bryce Waryn and Lady Catrina Kerr. Bryce is not the eldest brother, Geoffrey is, but Geoffrey gives the lands to Bryce. Geoffrey has married and is lord of his new wife's lands. So Bryce is now the Lord of Bristol Manor. Immediately after the battle to regain what was took from them, two men happen to find an injured Catrina, she apparently survived the fierce battle that occurred at Bristol Manor, a few hours prior to being found. She has no memory of who she is nor why she was left in the ditch, so the men brought her back to the Manor. Against Bryce's better judgment he let's her stay to gain her strength, heal from her injuries and hopefully regain her memory. Immediately, Bryce and Catrina have a connection, which either understands nor care to act upon, at first. But the heart can be a fickle thing. Then when Bryce learns Catrina is his enemy's daughter, he decides to hold her as his hostage. Catrina is a strong-willed lass who knows how to fight, afterall, she has brothers. She's determined to escape, to save Bryce and his newly formed clan from more devastration. But Bryce is determined to keep Catrina, for his own. So another struggle ensures at Bristol Manor, this one between Bryce and Catrina. Will Catrina and Bryce find their HEA? Or will they give up all to protect and save those they love?
Steady paced, tale with engaging, well thought out characters and an interesting storyline. I found the plot to be intriguing as well as exciting. Ms. Mecca gives her readers a story of danger, romance, passion, betrayal, a bit of humor, a bit of suspense, and the power of love against all odds. I thoroughly enjoyed "The Lord's Captive" and watching Bryce and Catrina fight their feelings, the inner turmoil that is against their true feelings and the safety of their clan, is truly overwhelming. There are a few laugh out moments. Like when Catrina blackens Bryce's eye. I would strongly recommend reading "The Lord's Captive", of you enjoy Medieval Romance, the struggle to find a HEA, and fight to keep what another clan craves. I can hardly wait to read more of Cecelia Mecca and her stories. She is definitely an author to watch for in the future. A heartwarming story. Another must read Medieval Romance!

Book 1 in what promises to be an extraordinary series, "Border" series. See the prequel, "The Ward's Bride". Set against the Anglo-Saxon border in the 13th century (1271), Northumbria, England. What a great Medevial Romance!
From the first page to the last, I was intrigued and glued to the pages. I couldn’t figure how Sir Geoffrey, a Reiver, who needs to reclaim his inheritance, who seeks his revenge and Lady Sara Caiser, a Countess, an extraordinary lady of good breeding, alluring and complicated, would find their HEA, with so much against them. However, Ms. Mecca manages to pull it all together in a dramatic and heart felt ending. I loved these two characters, they were so caring, honor bound and determined to make the best out of the hand life dealt them. The secondary characters were perfect, Geoffrey's Uncle Hugh and Sara's lady's maid, Faye, were perfect together, even in secret.
Fast paced with historical details, much research, Medevial challenges and the pressures of Medevial life, brings "The Thief's Countess", to life and adds more intrigue to the story. My only complaint, the ending felt a bit rushed, but was satisfying, as well as, exciting. Many questions were answered. Filled with danger, suspense, mystery, intrigue, adventure, passion and romance. Everything Medevial Romance fans will love with twists and turns and a few surprises. I feel Cecelia Mecca is a new debut author to watch for, her writing is masterful, talented and an author I intend to follow. Her writing feels as if she's been writing for years. Very impressive indeed! An outstanding Medevial Romance from a very talented author! I can't wait to read Book 2, coming soon! A must read! Bravo, Cecelia Mecca! ! I received a complimentary copy.

A very steamy Regency Historical Romance. Book 2 in Ms. Boyd's steamy novel "Rebel Hearts" Series, but can be read as a stand alone. See "The Wedding Affair". First, let me say this is a very steamy Regency Romance, with BDSM, spanking, submission, and sensual encounters.
Captain William Ford, a Naval Officer who has come home badly wounded and disfigured. He is the grandson of a Duke, weathy in his own right, who enjoys, what some would call, depravity in his sensual encounters. Matilda Winslow, a doctor's daughter, who has had to go into service in order to survive. Is a housemaid in William's household. She's a bit naive, but a very sweet heroine. A steady paced Regency Romance, with many facets to the characters. The storyline is a bit unique, and interesting. A marriage of convenience, secrets, challenges, a dilemma or two, spanking, submission, steamy, hot sensual encounters and filled with rare emotion. William, is a hard man, has issues, he is possessive, has what some would call, sensual depravity, but he is also very sensitive to his disfigurement, and a dry humor. I would dare to say, William has PTSD, as well as, flashbacks to the sea battle. Matilda, is honest, forthright, has an innocence about her that is appealing as well as, a bit too submissive, to me. However, both William and Matilda, and some of the other characters are engaging, likeable, if not a bit overwhelming, at times. Overall, a great multifaceted story, with some unique twists and turns.
But, can a marriage of convenience turn into an epic love story? Or will a misconception, when, revealed, destroy the blossoming love between William and Matilda? The one thing I would have liked clarified, is, after William's battle at sea, where he's severely wounded, and brought home to die, there is mention of someone trying to kill him, but never followed up upon.
Ms. Boyd, has written this story with a flare for the unpredictable, integrity, and a willingness to bring readers a great, while, steamy Regency Romance. An enjoyable and satisfying read! A great read! It can be read as a stand alone. This is the journey of Henrietta Katherine Graham and Lord Ernest Cornelius Frederick Howe. And what a journey to fulfill their childhood love as just mere children, an eight separation and a happy reunion. While you can't call this story a second chance story, it really is, their love went from a childhood love to an adult love. Fantastic!
A quick read to me, with endearing and engaging cast of characters. I did not feel I missed anything nor did it feel rushed. I enjoyed the plot, which seemed effortlessly written, was very interesting and steady paced. Henrietta and Ernest's story will definitely capture your heart. With the help of family and friends they are determined to prove that a stablemaster's daughter and a Lord can make a powerful and compelling couple.
Ms. Devlin writes a story of romance, love, devotion, secrets, abuse by a parent, passion, healing, and is infused with acceptance from the ton and finding a HEA that will certainly have you holding your breath, as Henrietta and Ernest find their place in society. I absolutely loved "The Stablemaster's Daughter" story. A page turner, that came full circle!

While, book 3, it can be read as a stand alone, however, I'd suggest reading the other two in this series, to learn more of the friends, but not necessary to enjoy Ophelia's story.
Lady Ophelia Fletcher, is quiet, reserved, always has in a book in hand, which is why she didn’t witness the death of her friend. She now writes the Mayfair Confidential column, which exposes unsavory men, this is her way of making amends for not backing her other friend’s claims of murder. So when it became necessary to retrieve his brother's wife's younger sister, of course, Blane was the man to cross the border and retrieve her, bring her to Scotland to reunite with her sister and father, who had been wounded. Lady Aliah de Mowbray, is feisty, doesn't trust the barbarian Scots, beautiful, she’s been protected all her life, and plans to vow her life to the church, but when danger persists, she shows Blane she can handle a bow and arrow, just like her sister. Aliah and Blane are a wonderful couple, one who deserves their HEA, their pull toward each other kept me turning the pages, from the beginning to the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed "The Higlander’s Conquest". Ms. Knight has done it again with her vivid details, her strong characters, and her engaging story. I strongly recommend "The Highlander’s Conquest". What a great read by Eliza Knight!!

Ms. Montclair has written a story Sorcha (The Highland Clan) Book 8 by Keira Montclair is an absolute pleasure to read. Can be read as a stand alone. Ms. Montclair has written a story that has so much to offer readers, it has danger, adventure, drama, excitement, a bit of humor, some witty banter and romance. I was pulled into Cailean McAdam and Sorcha Ramsay's story from the very beginning. Sorcha has gone from a wee lassie to a grown lass, which perturbes her father, Logan, the most feared man in the Highlands. He is legendary. Cailean is proud, strong and brave, a guard for the Ramsay's, and also cares deeply for Sorcha, but he's not in her social class, he's a mere guard. Can he convince Logan he is a worthy suitor? Has Sorcha's feelings grown to love? Will they survive the danger they are facing, from unknown assailants?
Readers, will simply be factinated and thrilled as they are reading, "Sorcha". I myself was astonished at Cailean and Sorcha's young love and how Cailean finally gave in to marriage, family, love, and how he was determined to prove his love, even to the point of nearly dying. Friendship can turn to a strong and determined love. The antics of Logan was hilarious at times, sad at others, as he fears losing his beloved daughter. Every father's nightmare.
I highly recommend this fast paced, thrilling and highly anticipated story. It has everything a romance reader could possibly wish in a Scottish Romance, and more. Brilliantly and masterfully written. The cast of characters were fantastic, even the villains were quiet convincing, which only added to Cailean and Sorcha'a story. Keira Montclair is one of my go to Medieval Scottish Romance authors. She never disappoints me, she always leaves me in absolute awe. What a mesmerizing story!! Well done, Ms. Montclair! I can't wait to read the next grand adventure. Powerful and compelling. A definite must read for fans of Scottish Romance. I received a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed Roe and Sapphire's story and very much look forward to reading next of the sisters story.
Taming a Savage Gentleman: Taming the Heart Series by Tammy Andresen is an extremely exciting Regency Romance. Book 5 in the "Taming the Heart" seriesTaming a Savage Gentleman: Taming the Heart Series by Tammy Andresen is an extremely exciting Regency Romance. Book 5 in the "Taming the Heart" series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Some of the characters appear from previous books, but the reader will not be lost reading this one. An unconventional acquaintance leads to a a great deal of trouble for both the H/H in "Taming a Savage Gentleman".
This is the story of Flora, Baroness Segrave, a witty, beautiful, smart and weathy young lady, who needs a husband or so society deems in order to keep her and her mother safe and Tom Maddox, a second son and spare who lives his life outside the confines of society, to his families unhappiness, they are hoping a marriage will settle him down. He has been asked to look after Flora and her mother on their voyage to Scotland, by his cousin, Barrett Maddox, the Duke of Manchester. Then there's the Earl of Loudoun, who wishes to court and marry Flora, he's deeply in debt, ignoring fool it would seem and a gambler, whose lost everything unless he finds a weathy wife, and quickly. He meets Flora's needs perfectly or so it would appear. She wants a man who will allow her to manage her estates, her herself without any inference from her husband. But things change.....
Well written with well developed charatcers, the banter between Flora and Tom is perfect, to this reader, definitely carries the story along, nicely. The plot flows smoothly and without gaps. The mystery, suspense, sensual attractions, and sea adventure makes this story fast paced, well thought out and perfect for an afternoon adventure. I was glued to the pages of Tom and Flora's story from the beginning to the end, definitely a most entertaining Regency read.
Once again Ms. Andresen met my expectations with her witty banter, her characters and her enticing and endearing plot. A wonderful story of romance, trouble, a bit of danger, finding love, and redemption. "Taming a Savage Gentleman" has something for everyone. A quick, enjoyable and most satisfying Regency. I can't wait to read the next adventure. Tammy Andresen is another of my favorite Regency authors, she never disappoints me. I always look forward to her next inspiring story. Another great read by Tammy Andresen!!
Jane Grey: A Homage to the Brontë Classics (The Brontë Brothers Book 1) by Nina Mason, set in the Loire Valley, France and England in 1850. In "Jane GJane Grey: A Homage to the Brontë Classics (The Brontë Brothers Book 1) by Nina Mason, set in the Loire Valley, France and England in 1850. In "Jane Grey" the reader will be shocked and thrilled by the similarities between the story of "Jane Eyre" to Matthew Brontë and Jane Grey. Matthew is the cousin of the author of "Jane Eyre" books.
A story of a frustrated painter, and a "kept" man and a beleaguered English governess who comes to France as a teacher, to a young heiress, thus meets Matthew, in much the same manner as Jane Eyre met her Mr. Rochester, except Jane ran away from and her feelings for Matthew until she just couldn't possibly run anymore.
Readers will also find a slight departure from Nina Mason's other stories. Masterfully written, I felt, anyway. This is a story of disappointment, fortitude, unwavering love, hardship, the difficulties of a painter, in the 1850's, and the romance of the century. Can wealth come before love? If you had a choice between weath or love, which would you choose love or the money? A delimma for most, especially when you meet the love of your life. "The only happiness in life is to love and be loved.", my favorite passage.
"Jane Grey" has many avenues for which to take the reader on, here's just a few, forfeiting a fortune but never marry, never marry unless the spouse can provide for the other's dependent family, or throw all away for marriage, love and finding a HEA.
I found "Jane Grey" to be endearing and romantic with a bit of a sad side. I enjoyed watching Matthew and Jane find their joy and contentment. Don't be mistaken, in "Jane Grey", while the story has similarities, this story takes a few twists, turns, with a few surprises along the way, lingering doubts and and a round about detour to happiness.
Ms. Mason is a talented author and once again, her talent shines through with the telling of "Jane Grey". She never disappoints her readers in her plots, her characterizations, or her details. I'm truly excited for this new adventure. I hope readers will enjoy reading "Jane Grey", it truly makes you wish to read "Jane Eyre" after all these years. Yes, I haven't read it since high school! This story is definitely a departure from her other stories. The passion is not explicit nor over done, if that makes sense. I throughly enjoyed "Jane Grey" and I think you will as well.
Fans of the "Brontë Classics" will surely enjoy "Jane Grey", with unusual circumstances, contentment and finally finding true love, what's not to enjoy. This is an incredible story by Nina Mason! I can't wait to read the next installment in what promises to be an amazing series. Bravo, Ms.Mason!! Well done, indeed!
A LOVE TO REMEMBER, is a unpredictable, captivating and intriguing tale of love, respect, danger, betrayal and what I'd call "survival guilt". Once ag A LOVE TO REMEMBER, is a unpredictable, captivating and intriguing tale of love, respect, danger, betrayal and what I'd call "survival guilt". The chaRegency romance: The Duke's Return and the Lady's Rebuttal: Sweet and Inspirational Historical Romance by Charlotte Darcy. A quick clean read. The characters were a bit predictable, but manage to pull off an interesting read. The plot flowed evenly, but at times I felt it was a bit slow, however, it does pick up nicely.
This was an interesting read. For some reason, at the beginning, I didn't seem to connect to Aster and Juliet, not sure why. I kept reading and they grew on me. I found about half way through I liked the H/H, actually, I had a better understanding of, Benedict Astor, the Duke of Millington and Juliet Morgan.
Juliet is nursing her dying father, upon his death, she knows she will lose her home. The property, house, and land is entailed to her cousin, a man she does not know, but she must marry soon to keep her home. Astor, just returning from 6 years at war, has found is father is dead and the title about to be giving to another. He must marry and soon, as well, to retain his title and property. Then Juliet and Astor run into each other, literally, were they feel a spark.....but will that spark grow into love, respect and a HEA? When accidents start to plague them, they pull together to try to figure out who is behind the accidents and why. Which one are they after, Juliet or Aster? This is when the action really begins to pick, to me. Juliet and Astor have a sweet passion and reserve about them. But can they find their HEA, or will they lose all? Will true love prevail? Pick up this story to learn for yourself. In the end, this was an enjoyable read.

OMG, what a thrilling, exciting story with suspense, a bit of mystery, betrayal and the possibility of love and finding a HEA.
"Passion and Plunder" has twists and turns, a few surprises, and a passion for life. Lydia, being the only true heir, except for her mother's sniffling nephew, Ross, to Tornbury Fortress, believes her dying father will name her as his sucessor, so she tries to prove her worth to him and the clan. Alasdair, has dreamt of Lydia for awhile, but couldn't act on his feelings because of his secret, until trouble threatens Lydia's life, then all bets are off, he'd do anything to protect her and her clan.
"Passion and Plunder" is a fast paced story with a smoothly flowing plot, that is easy to follow. The characters are well rounded, well-developed as well as, engaging and captivating. This story was one of those Scottish reads where, the characters and the plot are believable and realistic for the Era.
I throughly enjoyed Lydia and Alasdair's story, how they came to stop fighting their feelings, and got down to what they truly wished. Until....Alasdair's secret came to life, then things change, for both he and Lydia. Can they find their way to a HEA, and their true love?
