How can you not love a story about two great men and a sweet wounded puppy. Hunter is running from life—running for a life altering tragedy, living a life alone away from the big city in a small town, but soon a sweet wounded puppy has him meeting the local vet Otto. Otto works much and is not sure he will ever find a partner who understands his long hours. I absolutely loved how a wounded puppy brought these two lost souls together…both me are learning to love themselves and Hunter trying to make peace with his past. This book is a great balance of romance and angst. I loved how the book unfolds, spending the first part getting us invested in the two men and their past, and the second part focusing on them as couple. That format made me love them individually and as a couple. A great red. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.
