I read this book at Brenna's urging and enjoyed it. Maniac is an orphan who finds himself taken in by a Black family. It's lost on him that he's the only white person in the neighborhood, but before long it's brought to his attention and Maniac has to figure out how to live with people who love him without hurting them. This is a story of race, accpeptance, friendship, and family and is really quite lovely.
