Another fantastic read from Blake Crouch. I loved Dark matter, this book takes another dive into the genetic engineering, there is a lot of Scientific specifics in the book but I just skimmed over this and didn't let that distract me. It is a high intensity thriller, that kept me highly anticipating what would happen to Logan next.

The book is set in the future, US gene editing is banned, Logan works for GPA (Gene Protection Agency) after escaping an explosion that almost claimed his life, he comes to realise he has been "Upgraded" by a synthetic virus. His IQ has shot up to 200 his memory, problem solving skills, his bone density levels have all increased. Logan tries to figure out what is happening to him, what he is becoming whilst trying to keep it a secret. His work figures it out, and decide they will run tests on him and turn him into a weapon. Its such an interesting read, exploring the ethical issues of gene editing, exploiting his basic human rights in achieving their goal to make him into a weapon.

We get insight to Logan and his family past, the struggles he faces along the way I was definitely invested in Logan and rooting for him. This book had me captivated from start to finish, highly recommend it.
