Tricia and Duke's Story . . .
Tricia Fitzpatrick inherited her aunt’s old farmhouse and a pumpkin patch, and decided now was a good time to get a fresh start. One of her neighbors is Chief Duke McMillan who stops by to say hello. Both of them can feel the immediate attraction, but Duke tells himself that having three children and a busy job as police chief gives him no time for dating.
Not all of the neighbors are friendly, however, when the “Johnston boys”, Charlie, Brian, Brandon, and Caleb, want her to sell her adjoining property to Charlie and she refuses. They don’t let it go at that, however, and she is attacked and injured while working in the field. And the nightmare is still not over as a group of men came out of the woods one night, became bears as she watched from upstairs, and broke into her house. Will Duke jump in to protect her now? Will his clan come to their aid in time? And will his little secret scare Tricia off? Or, if they all survive, can she give him a chance to make her happy since she already adores his 3 kids!
This story was done so well. It made me feel the love and family that the clan showed. And it filled me with hope. Great story!
