"Mars Needs Women" science fiction romance very much in the Ruby Dixon mode, with a little more strength and substance to the backstory, in which our heroine - and her compatriots, the heroines of books yet to come - is from the underclass of a dystopian future society, and has been promised safe passage to a better colony where she should have access to more resources and a better future; there's a little more nuance and drama to their discovery that they're stranded on an alien planet, as some of them hope for rescue and delivery to the colony, while others (including our heroine) are more cynical about their corporate overlords.
