** spoiler alert ** I promised myself I wouldn’t read another book after the first one by this author that I “tried” to read, “Two Wrongs Make A Right” a few weeks ago, however I forgot this was on my wishlist on Amazon & my husband bought it for me for Christmas.

That being said:

The first chapter was BRUTAL. I nearly DNF’d because it felt too forced after stating how they had fought and ignored each other for a year. Her noticing him would’ve made more sense after the dream then at the beginning. But since it was a gift I pressed on.

It became quite cute after that. I started noticing the similarities even more to You’ve Got Mail like the back of the book had indicated it would be like. That gave me hope.

I did like the majority of the book. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would, but I didn’t like the ending. To be blunt, since I am that way also being neurodivergent & autistic, it went on too long and I skipped the love scene because I do not care for descriptive love making scenes. I skip them if they’re there and sometimes skipping is okay because the rest is good. It’s very difficult finding romance novels that are safe spaces for someone like me. They’re triggering aka activating. I’m someone that usually prefers kissing n such with cute moments then fade to black. It’s not easy to find though, there’s no rating system for books, sadly.

The Epilogue was also too much. A meeting between her father and Jonathan asking for her hand would’ve been better. A cute full circle moment. But years later and no kids? I mean that would’ve been talked about at that point since she loved seeing him with his nephew. So that made my head spin.

So with a disappointing start and ending I gave it 3.5 stars. At least this was better than the other one. I don’t know if I’ll read more or not. But I do hope this author writes more and improves because she has talent and I did really enjoy the middle of the book. And the explanation of why he was so grumpy. That was well thought out. I’m just not sure that even though it talks about being neurodivergent and what that’s like that I will enjoy her style enough. But again, that may be just me.
