If I could rate this book on the romance alone, it would have gotten a 4/5 stars. I thought it was very cute, very well done, and only slightly cringey (let’s be real, all romance is nothing but a little cringe).

However, I can’t rate this book on just the romance because it was filled with so much more that I just didn’t not jive with. I said this before with one of Hazelwood’s novellas, but I am not a STEM girlie. Idk anything about neuroscience or NASA. I truthfully do not care to learn about Marie Curie and I don’t really care what she would do. So much of the discourse in this book went right over my head and I found myself skimming pages because I just didn’t know what was happening or the point of including it to such extent.

I also thought the part with the cat jumping on Guy’s head was too fanciful. Funny idea, but wtf.

All in all, did I think this was a bad book? No or else I would have DNFd it. Do i think it could have been better? Yes, much better. If you’re a scientist/work for NASA, maybe you’d like this.
