Both Feet in the Grave (Night Huntress, #9)

I’m greatly enjoying this way of revisiting characters that are truly entertaining. Getting the story of Cat and Bones from his point of view certainly adds a lot as you begin to realise just how much Bones actually feels for Cat. Yes he’s possessive of her but we learn of his struggle not to lose her trust and love for him as he lets her go her own way , well as long as he’s with her that is ! Being reunited with Cat brings Bones joy but it’s also deeply distressing for him as to lose her again would destroy him. Problem is there’s someone who has put a target on her back and this time it’s personal !
This authors words flow so easily and this whole series has been incredibly imaginative. I love the assorted characters that flit in and out as they truly round out this world that has been created. A special mention goes to Ian though because he’s just too vain to not get a mention and he adds to the fun with his posturing. Yes it’s a romance and there’s “that scene” but this time from the perspective of Bones. Honestly I never felt shocked by it when initially reading One Foot In The Grave (I know some did) but reading it here for this reader wasn’t as sexy because this time we see how bloodthirsty and wild Cat can be. I greatly enjoyed this book and very much look forward to the next instalment.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
