Jagears makes the couples' give and take wry, humorous, and them pushed for time- the dance, then deadline for Dex's wagon-train departure. She gives us easily decodable clues that Dex has read/ write learning disability and his correspondent is now desperately pregnant and transparently silly solving a serious problem. I liked all Jaegers' people and setup, worth finding more of her work. How love doth bloom!
