Definitely spoilers below. If you realize you don’t actually want spoilers don’t read any further. If you just want general safety spoilers then probably avoid this. It’s not safe. There H shares the h a lot. This is pretty dark.

I mostly liked this. If you enjoy dark romance and demons you probably will like it too. There were a few elements I would have changed but overall I really liked this book.

The h was interesting enough. She had that nOt lIkE oThEr GiRlS vibe but i can handle that. She had a not fun upbringing and bullying so she can have it. She had some annoying moments but overall likable. I liked H avenging her by punishing those who hurt her. The h is SA’d on page by her ex and he’s punished viciously by H.

My two complaints aren’t a huge deal but they aggravated me. The first one is more minor. The h (Bandit) is all “I’m so stubborn I will put myself in danger to stick to my stubbornness ” and we see some of this. However she pretty much ceases her stubbornness the moment she realizes she wants to bang H (Meriham). H isn’t all that cruel to h, at least not in ways she doesn’t enjoy, so whatever. It was a bit annoying with the inconsistency but not a huge deal.

The second annoyance carried through the entire book. H claims to be possessive. The h belongs to him. Which I love except HE IS NOT. H is all “You’re mine, mine, mine” blah blah blah. However he immediately adds the caveat *unless I give permission, or allow another to touch you* AND HE DOES. A lot. He’s very free with his permission. If authors want H to share that’s all fine and dandy but don’t pretend H is possessive. Sharing is quite literally the opposite of possessive.

He takes her. He finger bangs repeatedly, at first denying orgasms and then forcing them over and over til she squirts. Then she tries to run away and he injects her with something to make her super horny and allows a Minotaur and Lucifer to fuck her in front of an arena of spectators. Mind you, he hasn’t fucked her. He’s all “I won’t fuck you til you beg” which she holds out til about 70% for some unknown reason.

Then there’s a point when he’s actively fucking her but stops in the middle and calls in a replacement to continue fucking her that have never seen before and know nothing about because he’s called away to handle business.

Then in the epilogue it clear the sharing has continued at both of their pleasures but I maintain this is not the behavior of a possessive H.

There’s no OW, no cheating but lots of sharing h. No separation. The h is happy in the epilogue even though she didn’t choose to stay with H. He forces her to stay with him and she’s obviously good with that despite trying to escape.
