3⭐️’s on the nose.
I’m greatful to have the answers and resolution. But it was so abrupt, so slap happy fast and done..
This was somewhat of a flat climax.
Five episodes, I mean books.. to reach a conclusion that fills a bit over one chapter.. 😟
It was…unsatisfying.
In the beginning, the karma was creative, cheeky, fun.
Then it became a little more obvious, a little less unique, a little less fun.
Then, it WAS obvious, was boring and sooo fast and questionably easy [they made it so illogically complicated].
Every answer was drrraaaagged out, again and again.
But the final solution…boom, slap you and done…time to move on. 😳😲
The villain of the first four books…forgotten…swept aside. We don’t even find out what happens to them, never mind worrying about showing v’s telling.
The added mystery that was hinted at, brief clues having been dropped throughout, suddenly took centre place, but then was also resolved so quickly and easily.
Again with the answers slooowwwly, and painfully revealed. 🙄😮💨 [I really hate that device when used so often, and so blatantly. {But that could be listed as personal peeve.}]
I still love the story, the plot, the characters. But this felt very rushed.
Even our beautiful MMC started to sound just like the FMC in places. He was no longer ‘him’. It didn’t feel like evolution, it felt like rushed merging..😅
This book was not the same quality sadly.
I wonder if the author was simply ready to start a new project, but first needed to conclude this one?
Regardless, the authors talent and creativity is evident, even within this hot mess, and worth continuing with.
Plan to check out her signature, claim to fame series…Zombies..🤔
