This is my least fav out of them.

The constant melodrama all through the start.
I was so sick of reading about the ‘incomplete bond’. Being ‘told’ how much pain Greyson was supposedly in despite no sign, no evidence, nothing whatsoever to indicate. Never shown it so we could believe it, or any of the resulting storyline’s.

I’ve mostly lost all respect for Pip with this one, and in parts, just don’t even like her.
As a side character, she would still work, but as one of the leads and love interest, nope.
She’s too selfish and incredibly immature.
Especially with Greyson being older, more mature, and already an established leader. Pip was just too young.

It was blatantly obvious her whole drama was based on fear, and nothing to do with altruistic reasoning for Greyson. Completely selfish and immature reasoning which I could forgive, if she hadn’t been set up as moral support and conflict resolution for the pack, as well as some sort of strategic genius…

Despite the known dangers and all the risks being put on others, she continuously procrastinates doing her part. Whether research, magic practise, not going off on her own, working with others…she fails to treat seriously or own up to, or attempt to deal with any of her issues, dramas and insecurities, it’s all, yeah-later.. 😤 strong elements of TSTL.

It was so frustrating and aggravating!

We simply get the big climatic Hallmark-Disney finish, ‘All it takes is Love. 💕 Everything simply and suddenly falls into place easily and effortlessly. It’s magic.
No real solutions, logic, or learning required, or any quality story-crafting at the end. 🙄😂🙄

Plus, NO steam. Believed it in the first, could still feel it in the second though it dragged, absolutely none in the third.

This all felt like a jumble of ideas, with quick fix solutions to the ‘necessary’ action and angst that had been added.

The oh-so-convenient hunter magic as the quick-fix, just when it’s needed… 🤣😂🤣 I’m sorry, but that’s lazy writing. Either include it from the start, or write a better story evolution. The author HAS the talent, no reason she couldn’t have created an arc that didn’t require cheat solutions.

After all the ‘not her fault’ set up, the sudden reversal at the 70% mark, making it ALL Pips fault, with it suddenly just ‘fixed’ once she ‘accepted and loved’ 😂 didn’t fit the previous books style and narrative, or answer all the hostility and unfair treatment she had received at times…

The situation with Cedar was ridiculous!
Plus, while it might have been the P.G. friendly ending, she would have been an absolutely lousy test case to begin with.
For starters, it justified so much of what was done on her behalf, creating a dangerous precedent.
Plus, what happens when she’s caught up to date?
Her mate is dead, both her children doing serious jail time after committing heinous crimes (terms the previous book said would likely be death sentences). This on top of all her sister did to keep her alive, and the environment she created to lead her children down such a path..
Is she really going to want to be healed?
Really, really bad test subject.
What’s to prevent the conclusion that it’s all an overall bad idea, if and when things go so horribly wrong? (hide spoiler)]

I mostly skipped the happy family’s ending, only reading what was needed to wrap it up.
Was so disappointed with this as a finish.
