Cogburn bangs up suspense from by start, with wounded Widowmaker "Newt" Jones stumbling in desert, mumbling for revenge. Also leads to predictability. This is a series.

Knock him down, he rebounds. Cogburn gives the ugly giant a smart mouth and mighty honor. Brawls and guns move fast.

Earlier feels like years with sharp gambler Alice, her giant Indian guardian Smith, NY artist Remington (true), Mex Pablo & grandpa. Villain McCluskey obviously intends to ambush banker Kerr's treasure expedition.
