I've read several books on King, and King: A Life is the most comprehensive and nuanced of them all, including new research, tapes, letters, and declassified FBI files. I especially appreciate that Eig doesn't shy away from allowing readers to see King as the wonderfully imperfect human he was, instead of the irreproachable Civil Rights mascot he's often portrayed as. The talented Dion Graham narrates this book just beautifully. ๐๐ผ
