Ukrainian journalist Yaroslav Trofimov (Wall Street Journal), details the Russian invasion of Ukraine from February 2022 through the summer of 2023. Trofimov was on the ground in Ukraine from the first day of the war, moving between different parts of the country, speaking with personnel at all levels (including Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelenskyy,) documenting the war. This is a detailed, heartbreaking account of the initial year (and then some) of the war. Extremely well written; I couldn't put this book down.
