bookshelves: best-nonfiction

If everyone out there was like James McBride, how different would the world be? His ability to recognize nuance and look past divisive categories, while still acknowledging the systemic problems in our country, reminds me of James Baldwin and MLK. He is a credit to the mother he writes so adoringly about here.
