I didn't enjoy it as much...but it could be because I just read Match Me if You Can- my favorite SEP book.

3 years later, this book remains a classic. SEP's characters are still amazing and hilarious. I don't think I need to write another full review.

Third times a charm. Maybe this time, I would write a suitable review.

Clearly, I love this book. After reading it every so often (I think, once every 6 months), it has a solid place in my 'Favorites' shelf. What first attracted me to this story? The heroine, Jane. She's one smart cookie, who does one dumb act to get what she always wanted, a baby of her own. Feeling like a freak growing up, Jane wants a dumb jock to father (donate sperm) her future child. She stumbles on Cal Boner, successful quarterback for the Chicago Stars. Cal, the football player is quite a character. Mostly because of his fear of growing old. At 36, he refuses to date any woman over the age of 21. Plus he eats Lucky Charms for breakfast. Other than that, the man is sexy as hell. Anyway, Jane neglects to pick up on his intelligence or his sense of honor, while Cal doesn't learn of her advanced age (34) until the middle of the book. By then, the child is already conceived and the angry, but very honorable Cal forces Jane into a marriage to keep the child legitimate. There is a secondary romance, between Cal's already married parents. They have some resentment to clear up before they fall in love again.

I loved Jane and Cal's interplay. For such smart people, they are awfully immature. Still, they finally stumble into love together. The scene with the picking wallpaper, haha, adorable. You'll see. Jim and Lynn Boner's reigniting romance was both painful and beautiful to watch. Their past history makes things infinitely more complicated, but its finally so sweet. I wish there was a little more explicit, but that's an old complaint.

It would have been nice to find out what his teammates thought, but it wasn't all that important. Anyway, the premise of the story is a forced pregnancy that forces a marriage that eventually forces growing up and falling in love. Its great. And it was done well, so I recommend this to anyone.
