π—”π—―π—Όπ˜‚π˜ π˜π—΅π—² 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸: Vivienne Lebrun leaves her family in New York City to study poetry and baking in California. She's in her final year of school, worried about her mother's cancer returning, and longing to return home... but then she begins her poetry class taught by Peter Breznik, a Yugoslavan graduate instructor.

π— π˜† π—Ώπ—²π˜ƒπ—Άπ—²π˜„: Shannon is an absolutely PHENOMENAL author. Weaving poetry and diary entries together, this love story is sweet and sentimental and just really gentle. It was a refreshing change of pace to have a softer love story. At the same time, both characters are concerned about their families - Vivienne with her mother's cancer, and Peter with his family in war-torn Croatia. I loved the depth and tenderness of this novel, and feel like I highlighted about half of it because it was just so beautifully written.
