Black Heart (Detective Dan Riley, #1)

I wasn’t sure about this one going in. The reviews were in every quarter, but I ended up liking it quite a lot.
I dig Detective Dan Riley. He has depth, a sense of humor, likes various bands and music, and has …emotions. He’s not all grit and daring like many male detectives tend to be.
I did notice this had a mix of Brit and American terms and products that kind of stood out from time to time. Like, I’m sure Bud Light is sold in countries other than the US, but I highly doubt it would be a first choice when one orders a beer. Hell, I’m in the US and I wouldn’t call it beer.
Justsayin. It kind of took me out of the story a bit.
Will certainly pick up book 2, hoping it’s as good.
