Abby Knickerbocker offered to be a surrogate for a family in need. But her good intentions were unconvincing for Sigmund (Sig) Benedictus, who was honoring his deceased wife’s wish. And the deal they agreed upon became more complicated as the line blurred.

This book had an interesting dynamic. While the storyline was mild, with less angst than I prefer, I enjoyed it overall. Sig and Abby had good chemistry, with him being sexy and somewhat grumpy and her being curious and kind-hearted. The supporting characters added humor and heart to the story.

I wanted him to love me that way. Although I wasn’t sure he’d ever be capable of it again, I could never accept anything less.

The Surrogate is a story of changes and fulfillment. It would appeal to readers who enjoy heartwarming contemporary romance.
