I will always be a BDB fan….buuuuuuuut…I was not thrilled with this book. There was to much time focused on the Evan (Lesser) character and his story (I’m talking chapters and chapters which I skipped through) and not enough spent on the getting to know the new generation. I was hoping Nalla’s and Nate’s story would be more exciting but unfortunately it was pretty boring.

Another thing I found weird was the kids of the original BDB said they group up parallel to each other and weren’t really close. However they all lived together in an underground bunker for the last 30 years. How do they not know each other? It was weird and it was never explained. Especially as they all call the parents Aunts and Uncle.

Wrath reappears after 30 years and there’s no heartfelt or excitement about his return. Z, V and Tohr are just like hey man welcome back. Like wtf? Where’s Phury, Butch, John Mathew, xhex, Blay and Quinn?

Also they abandoned the mansions because it’s not safe but the clinic is still there and it’s totally safe 🤦🏻‍♀️ there were so many plot holes in this book. I don’t know if she felt rushed or is just struggling to build the next generation.

This may be where by BDB journey ends. Which makes me really really sad.
